Writing Genius lyrics for an artist's music just to try and fxck his income up, hoping you are somehow going to enlighten people who look the lyrics up not to purchase the album. Pathetic. Too bad it didn't work because Tom is a great lyricist and attacking the lyrics isn't a good way to discredit his work.

@keenannash29475 жыл бұрын
@Kardz22 the production was never a problem, tho it's not strong enough to erase some of his weaker areas. If you don't relate to the content of his songs then he just comes across as a rapper with typical sounding flows, basic wordplay, and bad hooks.

@@keenannash2947 so what ur saying is that if no one can relate to you.. your point is trash and invalid.. boy o boy the genius in ur opiononononnonsss is amazing..
@keenannash29475 жыл бұрын
@@vandakaii2893 um no, you seem to have some readong comprehension issues cause my original comment did not say that at all, but I'll try to break it down even more so it's easier to understand... If a rapper is actually good at rapping (has good wordplay, flow, delivery, etc.) then people will be able to appreciate their music regardless of the content. Even if I dont agree with some of the stuff in a song, I can at least appreciate the skill on display. A rapper like Pusha T is a good example. I cant relate to most of his content and I dont like the glorification of selling (or using) drugs, but his wordplay and lyrical ability is undeniable so I can still enjoy his music die to his rapping skills. Old eminem is another example, a lot of the stuff he rapped about was not relatable to me at all but his lyrics, flow, and delivery still made his older music great. On the other hand, if a rapper is bad, the only people who will like their music are people who agree with what they are saying... Tom would be a perfect example for this cause his fans are... well let's just say all of you guys agree with most of what he raps about. Hopefully you're able to understand this comment so it can clear up the confusion you had about my previous comment.

The problem with him doing that is, THAT'S how he built his fan base. I've been around Tom's music since about 2012. He wasn't a "controversial" dude then, and his music never portrayed this high ego, I'm smarter than you shit then either. But he never got views really. Then, boom, Nova comes around, and she is a genius so, she finds a market that time could take, and might have success in. Now that's who he is. Almost his entire fan base likes his music, because his persona, is GENUINELY how his fans feel about themselves. Just think about that for a second. And I'm not saying this as an outsider, I'm saying this as whole one who has been listening to him for about 8 years, read the comments, joined the Discord, and watched the Cult of Tom grow. He's stuck in this now. And even if he tried to break this, and focus on making actual good rap music, I doubt he could ever come back from this rep he has established for himself.

Also, these did cause em some problems because not everyone took it as something u shouldn’t take literally. But the thing with Tom is he’s doesn’t do anything with his songs or lyrics to show it’s meant to be a joke. Obviously with some of his songs u can tell he’s looking from a different perspective and stuff like whiteboy, I guess, but maybe it’s the wording or something about Tom that makes it seem all too literal on this and a few other songs.

@elperry77335 жыл бұрын
@@HomeDefender30 I mean, I'm not attacking his technical skills, I talking about subject matter. Whether or not you find it worthwhile is entirely opinion based. I find too much of his lyrical content, especially his singles output, to be focused on trolling people and making them mad, which I think is pretty juvenile and corny. Even with someone like Eminem, who has undeniable skills, I don't find a lot of his content nearly as entertaining as I did as a kid. Of course the difference between Tom and Em, is that Em actually had the massive influence and subsequent backlash to make his persecution complex justifiable. Tom acts like he's public enemy number one, when most people haven't heard of him outside of videos like these. His self-importance is off-putting but also hilarious, which is why -- admittedly -- it's funny to make fun of him and his surprising sincere fans. In any case, he's corny and self-important and not original enough as a rapper to hold my attention and make up for his persona. If he rapped more about Big Pharma and other corporate corruption, mental health and what's wrong with the rap industry -- without painting himself as some sort of unappreciated prophet -- I would like him more. That line about healthcare, I felt that.
