You notice that Jason only responds to comments that are over the top positive towards him? I was just interested in the 401 too that was supposed to be done last summer in time for OshKosh and now it won't be done in time for OshKosh this year either. I think there is a good chance it will never be completed or it will be dragged out a couple more years. I didn't watch this video or the ones before it as I have zero interest in what they are doing.

Hello again!! Excited for the new video. Again another shout out here from Anchorage Alaska. Just got off work here from the AK airlines hanger and always great to change my mind pace from airlines MTX to being able to see your videos. Always enjoyable to watch and wind down with. Love what you do and enjoy being able to watch how y’all do it. Would be awesome if one day I would be able to help yall out any with your work towards your work goals. Update: Man, I got to work on those going through my Part 147 A&P school and enjoyed it very much. Part of end of year exam being completing an annual inspection.

A Rajay Turbo-charged Twin Comanche. If you plan to fly those two Comanches out of there, bring four bungee cords with you, and Jason, I have a slick way to change them. But you need to first jack the plane up, then start to retract the gear and stop halfway up. If you want the tools I will donate them at KIPT, just a fairly short hop for you from Coatesville.

What do you think the status is of it from the last time it was shown? Think they finished it up off camera and got it flying? These guys and the A&Ps don't just volunteer. They all have to make money, the 401 got a sizable investment but it takes a lot to run a business. Buying, fixing, and selling planes is how the 401 will get fixed.

money parts and time. all needed for the 401 to be fixed so income needs to be brought in for that, the go fund me has barely touched the sides for what is needed to get the 401 back in the air . and with whats happend to sam has put a set back on thing aswell think that is understandable, i would say

I am so happy there is still a video every week. And they are all really fun to watch. For an aviation enthusiast it‘s awesome to see Mooneys, Comanches and so many more great GA airplanes getting a second chance. Awesome Content, keep it up! I know when the time is right the 401 will be finished. It’s more than understandable that that time is not now nor the near future. I think many people just don’t get how hard it must be to work on the 401, while constantly being reminded of Sam, even harder shooting a vid, smiling, having a happy face. I wish you, Jason, and the whole crew a lot of strength for the future. Don’t let you drag down by all the negative comments. I know you guys give your best. Keep entertaining! If you have the weights on the rudder the red line is 201 without the weight it's 185. If you counter weight the sabilizer too, it puts the red line back to 229. I've owned a Comanche 250 for the last 37 years and it's still everything I've ever wanted in an airplane

Not sure what I am missing here. I have been with you for years...way before the yacht acquisition but format feels different to me. When you hyped the 401 it looked like you were balls to the wall getting it right and into service but even now it sits while you fly around on a ridiculous schedule to buy other planes. I am not ready to leave just yet but getting close. Where is the lake property you said you would develop for veterans and other families ? Just watching you travel is of little to no entertainment for me, maybe others like but it is boring. If you are not going to get on the plane Sam gave you, let me know as there are other places I can spend my time. This has some interest but is no longer entertaining. Have fun and stay safe.
@MGower4465

Part of its the 401 parts take time to source, and time to get enough to actually do a video with. I mean, "Today we have a 15 minute video installing two radios into the instrument panel" won't get the likes. Waiting to add that task in with two or 3 more makes sense. I also understand they can make some bucks buying plsnes, putting in some work in them and flipping them. And you can never have too much money when working with airplanes, where a simple light bulb costs 5 times what the exact same bulb costs for a car. There has to be a business side. The issue is they hyped too hard about how fast it would happen. I get it, everything takes longer than planned in a resto project, even just refinishing a wooden cabinet, let alone something complex. And airplanes are way more complex than most. Still, the guys had to have realized way esrlier than tgey admitted there wasn't a chance in hell of getting the 401 to Oshkosh last year. They certainly burned through my eagerness. This stuff? Not my thing, but I'll feed the algorithm for KZbin.

*"Actually I am not interested in these other planes. Please finish what you started."* As Jason explained in an earlier video, he (and his crew) are buying and refurbishing these newer airplanes in order to SELL THEM to secure funds to FLY and MAINTAIN the 401 after it's finished and in service. The reason there isn't much going on with the 401 right now is because they must WAIT for the critical services needed to become available in order to proceed. They aren't the ONLY project on many of the companies' schedules that they work with, and those businesses must FIRST keep their clients happy in order to remain in business. Give 'em a break.

The dream we followed. A purpose and goal a family. One thing at a time. And not too many meaningless pursuits at one time. 401 had heart, a dream, a special place in our hearts. @@ambee514 I saw it, and understand, but would rather it not just sit there, when there's so much more that they could continue to refine the interior, or see any additional electronic wiring, connections, etc. Process of keeping the project going and all the issues on how they resolve them instead of going after other projects. Personally I don't mind if that happens, but later, rather than when there's still so much more than to simply wait on parts. Oh, and also, keep us in the loop than just feeding us videos not related to the 401. Example, you ever watch "Jerry rigs everything"? he started with electric hummer, then his wife gave birth baby, but instead of going back to the Hummer, he stopped and gave up for months and was doing cell phone's. Yeah he had someone come in and help to fix what he miss understood and didn't correctly connect the system on the hummer. but he just dropped it on someone else, and came back when the other guy fixed it his mistakes instead of being there through it all and learning something. 401 has so much meaning for everyone that's been following, I'd rather see him refine the 401 and watch 1 hour of cleaning, polishing, patching, welding, sanding, painting, replacing, etc. than to let the week slip by and at the end we see a finished product and not see the effort to get it done.

So let me get this straight.... you're not a licensed pilot nor are you an A&P, you ask for donations to "rebuild" the 401, fly all over the country with a camera man looking at other planes to "save" but never actually work on the one you're "trying" to "save". I feel like I'm being sold a Harley at the Harley dealership from a salesman that doesn't even have a motorcycle license! 🤯🤯

@@danielharryman5492Jealous? Jealous of what? Not having your PPl after THREE years as a student? AOPA stats show hobby-pilots complete their PPL in 6-9 months! Those in full time flight train do so in far less. Yes, his analogy of being sold a Harley by someone without a MC license is spot on.

if you dont like ot dont watch it . the 401 is a huge out lay so the planes he buys and sells go towards that with the profits the donations barely touch the side for the coast of the 401 repairs pluss the taxes on the donations nealy 80,000 went to taxes so something has to pay for the repairs

Guys hoarding planes won't make any progress on rescuing planes its like you are going berserk on buying other planes and not fixing what you already have.

I have my head up my butt today, My 400 had a Lycoming IO-720 and not a continental. We did have overheat problems on the back 2 cyl. but that was corrected by adding an outside air hose to the cowl.

The show is called rebuild rescue, this episode is not about rebuilding or rescuing anything. These airplanes are in good shape They don't need to be rebuilt and they don't need to be rescued. You guys are losing focus again. Also he's taking people's money please provide a status during each video on what is going on with 401 something as simple as "we are waiting on parts XYZ" and "The workaround plan is to start assembling XYZ in 1 week". You guys at rebuild rescue need to stay focused and it's highly recommended that you provide a little update on the 401 during every one of your travel deviations / new purchases.

Don't get your panties in a bunch about it. Here's Jason replying to another comment yesterday 03/23/2024 "We are waiting on a number of parts to come in. The last few videos were pre recorded back in January. We'll get back to the 401 soon. The 401 project was a huge undertaking with the most important thing that it's done right. Most every part is either new or overhauled. Even down to every nut and bolt."

@@coldsamon I'm sorry you're missing the point completely, these guys are not rebuilding or rescuing anything these last two Piper aircraft look like they're in good shape. So people are highly disappointed with regards to the fact that no recent progress on the 401 has been shown, or a good status on what's coming up next. Also that rush job to get the cougar flying again in 5 days was just absolutely ridiculous and there's no doubt things were overlooked, you can see it in their videos. Also look at video where the 401 cabin windows were reinstalled, that's a complete disaster and they haven't fixed their errors

@@coldsamon yeah I know they're waiting on parts, but while they're waiting on parts they need to fix the crap that they screwed up already on the 401 like the installation of the cabin windows. Or they can paint the wheel wells to match some of the other painted parts in the wheel wells.
