I now have Disk Drill. :) I do believe that as you see minds turning to mush on TikTok and the drive to be famous devolving not into possessing or building a skill/craft, but letting the darkness in minds bleed over into video. I think many moons ago, the "Dark Web" had places where mentally unstable people could connect but its come to the surface now. The taboo still exists in the shadows but those lines seem to get thinner and thinner each year. That's what is truly creepy. You want to have an idea for a video? Find the "loons". I agree with most people that all the illegal sales of stuff and predator garbage is either a scam or monitored (hopefully). The true Dark Web is the minds that are in that initial "fantasy" stage before their desires become to volatile to contain. Disk Drill is a super legit program... I've saved files from at least 2-3 drives that had their boot partition corrupted, which isn't something I know how to fix.

Even if you have two factor authentication or security keys, hackers can steal your instance from cookies and make it look like they're signed in even if they don't know the password or two factor authentication. This happened to Linus Tech Tips when they were hacked, so please don't just rely on that you have security key on your account and just click on unknown files. Some files could for example install a background process that you would not know about and think you are not hacked, but it could steal some other important information. Just wanted to throw this out that you're not safe even with security keys if you open unknown stuff, hacking methods are so advanced nowadays. There could also be ransomwares encrypting your whole drive and you could lose some stuff that was important for you. Anyway I've been enjoying these, I just want you to know some important information. Also when these kinds of videos gain enough attention, someone could purposefully seek you out and sell or give you something that they know they can use against you. It's what some people experience when they let people send them mail, someone is gonna send something very bad at some point.

No. When you buy a fresh new flash drive, the amount of "empty storage" is actually all used up. It's just labeled as storage that can be "overwritten". When you put, lets say a document, on the drive, the drive says that document cannot be overwritten with other data which takes up space. That's why in order to actually "delete" the files, you need to overwrite the storage with other data so that it cannot be recovered.
