Reminds me of the "Lindows" distro from almost 20 years ago. They got sued by M$ and had to change their name to "Linspire". The initial draw of Lindows was Windows compatibility in a Linux wrapper, but they kinda gave up on that concept.

I get a feeling that their website staff was replaced. This "company" overall appears to be a scamming service, that seems to rely on the "placebo" effect. I think that the reason they haven't changed anything because it actually takes some effort to do so: While I don't have any experiance with Debian's ISO build tools, they should be similar to ArchISO (especially since a desktop is distro-independend). They have to clone the "sources" first (on a Debian based system, because the build tools only really work there), create a package with the default settings (in this case, pretty much only the wallpaper) using Debian's build system, add the packages they want (like PlayOnLinux or Lutris) to the package list and finally build, maintain and host the ISO. But then again, Ubuntu Unity remix was created by a 10 year old, so can't be *that* hard.

Hey Michael, I've seen a distro that is base on linux, and you get the threee option of desktop, Win 10, Win 7 and Win XP down to the icons look and feel for each look, including the Win Aero look, even the folders are identical to the windows you chose. And all the Linux apps will get the Windows treatment, and in the demo I've seen, PlayonLinux was integrated and you could install a few of the real windows programs. Even Libre Office is configured to read and save file like aany of the MS Office suite. So the Windows 12 version (linux Lite) isn't the only one offered. I have to search in my notes the link and the video link on youtube.

I will say Linux Lite looks quite nice, last Linux distro I tried was Linux mint, I recently upgraded a windows 7 laptop and windows 10 just kills it plus all it's available drivers

Technically it’s not illegal to sell a Linux distro. Linux distributions are open source, so anyone can distribute the software anyway you want, even commercially, so long as the license permits it. In fact, I believe Canonical sold physical Ubuntu install DVDs at one point themselves for about the same price. The only law they might have broken is trademark law, for calling the OS Windows 12. But at the end of the day, I don’t think they’re going to make a lot of money doing this. It’s just super weird.

Yeah, it's not technically illegal, but if you pay for GPL software you ARE getting scammed since the GPL license for lack of a better phrase legalizes piracy for such licensed software. Also, I just got to thinking, if this "company" doesn't have a means of downloading the source code for this "fork" they are violating GPL since it requires that a distributor give access to source code.

I dualbooted Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and Windows 10 Pro for a while (well, until my HDD died.. I replaced it with a Seagate HDD and no joke it booted in ten seconds, it was almost on par with an SSD actually but that's off topic) I still use Ubuntu and it's my favorite Linux

Yeah that company is shady! In regards to how your CD never came; I recently had a similar situation involving Norelco shaver heads. I bought some cheap knockoff ones on Ebay for a few bucks because the price of Official ones is almost the same price as the actual shaver... I noticed most of the merchants are in China. I tried to avoid Chinese merchants having been scammed by them too many times. So I picked whatever showed up first that wasn't in China. The merchant was in some country called Lithuania. Never heard of it. I took a chance... 2 weeks later I'm still waiting and theres no tracking number provided. These scammers are ridiculous. It's almost impossible to get what you want anymore.

For paying any shady company with a credit card online, many credit cards (2 of mine do) allow you to create a "virtual credit card number". This gives you a number that can only be used ONCE. So if they steal it and try to purchase anything with it, it will just come up "declined" no matter how many times they try. Free to use.

Wow. I saw that the calculator app loos very similar to the calculator app that Stock Android has. If anyone doesn't know. The icons and other things can look different in different Android phones. Even if the icons look different. The phone runs only Android. What I know, does the icons in iOS not look different when phones the same version. But phone manufactory can change the look of the icons. And it still has the same version as a for example Google pixel that has Android 10. Even if the skins are called One UI by Samsung,. Zen UI and LG UX by LG it is still Android. Not only the phones in the Google pixel series have Stock Android. My Motorola Moto G8 Power with Android 10 has stock Android.

I’m surprised no one’s told you about Linux FX which is Ubuntu 20.04 with the Cinnamon Desktop skinned to look like Windows 10. This Windows 12 thingy is just XFCE Desktop with wallpaper. If you walked up to a PC running Linux FX on just a casual glance you’d be hard pressed to tell it from Windows.
