20 years ago, my dad, brother and I were on a team in a summer league. We were giving up 300-400 pins a game handicap. And it would tick off the other team to no end to lose to us after being up 400 pins before the first ball was thrown. We were asked not to come back to that league. So, while I understand the need for handicap, not a fan. Good bowling this weekend. Always nice when you get a chance to do it with the family.

Way back when in D.C. area, we had a summer tour doubles that rotated among a bunch of houses. One that really stuck in my mind: it was the semis; we had moderate handicap. I start with around 210, then cranked out s 266. My partner was around her average. We were looking stronh. But, the guy we were bowling against (average 167 or so) gets the whole set of horseshoes stuck to him and bangs out a 237! Oy, gevalt! The handicap took us out.

Great bowling Forrest and Brittany. Those handicap tournaments can be very tough. I got beat once by a guy that couldn't shoot 200 to save his life. But his 95 pins of handicap was too much to overcome. He shot a 700+ series with handicap and I shot a 686 scratch. It happens. Keep up the great work. Take care.

Why handicap tournaments are so difficult. When the professional sandbaggers come out to play. Much like state tournaments and nationals.

You're probably not seeing or reading these anymore, but I've got to ask any way. Why did you change out of your X-Cell so quickly? You were solid in the pocket and putting 10 pins in the pit. Once you came out of that ball and went to, I think it was the pitch black your game faltered a bit and you seemed to struggle. Even when you went to your ole reliable Ruby you seemed to struggle. I usually will stay in a ball till I start struggling with it then I change out. I'm mainly curious about what your normal strategy is. You did EXCELLENT regardless and keep up the GREAT work. You and your family have a good, safe and blessed day and rest of the week.

I haven't even hit 150 yet. I imagine the handicap is pretty harsh, if i had to go up against you, I'd probably get 100 pins, then if I threw a fluke 170 I'd probably "win" seems kind of nuts. But i understand that everyone knows the rules and accepts them knowing that it can happen.

These kind of tournaments are full of interesting forms haha. I hate the handicap but it’s fair considering you can tell most of these people bowl maybe once or twice a week, so it gives them that extra boost to be able to compete with the scratch bowlers. But as the old saying goes, it’s not how, it’s how many. 🤷♂️
