I've wondered this before and while I don't know the precise answer(s) the simple answer is it's too real. People want flashy bullshit like Valuetainament that shows the "results" but never gets to the steps in arriving there. It explains a lot of the "inequity of wealth distribution" that ultimatley is rooted in the inequity of personal and group behavior. A small group focuses on accumulating wealth, mostly by using tools and opportunities available to nearly everyone and a larger group honestly, does not. They're watching TikTok.
