I think we need to slowly and carefully open the helmet part by part. The helmet configuration may be pretty much the same like the original vader's ESB helmet. Carefully soldering the cable connection (Be very careful to not melt any plastic helmet part), and then close it back using super glue... Hope it helps

Hit up Monkey Depot they usually carry the Deluxe accessories and are very reasonably price..the USB boxes have alot of Qc issues I noticed I had one of the pins in the socket break off and became useless..Killer Display ! 👏

Dont be too hard on yourself mate, these thing’s happen. Our excitement leads us to do alot of stuff whixh we will regret later. Knowing u, although u didn’t plan to use the electrified head, its going to bug u. If u really cant fix, buy a new one and sell it for the non-deluxe price. Seconded. Buy a new one, take the helmet and sell the rest. Your L will be the difference, but that’s how it goes in collecting these. Once you get the new one, try to carefully pry open the old one. If you can fix it and do a tutorial, you get all your money back on views. As others have said, you won’t be the only one. Thanks for sharing. I would have been way too pissed. Also, check Toys Anxiety to see if they are breaking g one down and buy the head. eBay is a good place for that too.

I know the feeling! I just broke my OWK Vader pulling the head off. I’m not sure what the material is on this version but the neck connector on the OWK Vader is of a clear plastic that snapped very easily and now barely holds the head on. So psa to everyone

The one thing you said it the other wires are lose and can come out quite easy. As for mine they quite tight and stay in very well. I do agree it is one hell of a figure and I love it.

And yeah I quite liked how the belt box wires aren't super tight on mine, they stay in no problem but if the box moves too much i.e. like if your posing it up and put too much strain on the wires they do pop out nicely. Don't feel bad. I have most of my figures hooked up to Soap Reactors. So one time, I ended up doing the exact same thing with my DX13 Terminator.🤦 Luckily I was still able to just buy a new replacement cable from Soap Studios. Not so easy to do with your particular cable though.

No worries, hope it's useful and prevents it happening to others!! I have no proper strategy yet for powering the USB features tbh!! In this case I just have a lead connecting to a power bank. I will at some point need to look for a way to wire all the USBs up to a USB hub, but this in itself may prove a challenge as the figures are all scattered around the collection! So at the moment I just move the power bank to whichever figure I want to see lit up! Thanks for watching 🙌🏻

GUTTED! Dude my heart was bleeding for you on this one, it's such a great figure too. To be fair, I would definitely have done this too, it's auto pilot to just switch out heads, you've never had to take the cable into consideration before. Hopefully this will stick with me so I don't do it. Got a technical question for you, did you use an effect/plug in to do the zoom in on the head sculpt? Or did you duplicate the footage in a layer above, crop, re-scale and put a PNG overlay for the graphic? Just curious. Thanks for making this video dude! PS: the "fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck" bit made me laugh 😂

Thanks man! Yeah you're right it's definitely auto-pilot to just swap the heads out isn't it, and I've never had a wired head sculpt/helmet before! But yes at least I can use the opportunity as a warning to other collectors so you can avoid replicating my mistake! Yeah the zoom-in section on the Sebastian Shaw sculpt was a built in effect. Just trying a few things to enhance the vids a bit 🙂 Hahaha yeah I'm not a big swearer tbh but was definitely not pleased in that moment 🤣🤣 Thanks for watching mate 🙌🏻

Pretty sure there’s a way in. Take for instance Bat Signal from The Batman light burned out in less than a week. From the look of it there’s no way in but after a few tries found where it was possible without drilling or cutting like one Danoby 2 would have done 🤣

Yeah there's a way in mate but it's just the glue that basically seals it all together. Seen a vid where he puts it in an oven which melts the glue and then it can be dismantled! 🙂 I'm just too chicken to attempt it 😅 Is Danoby 2 a bit of a customiser then? To be honest, I think even after you pointing this out, someone might remember the first time, but then go and do it on the second or third time. It's just so easy to forget.- I was expecting the light up head to just plug into the neck and it would be powered from inside the torso.- It's a very dodgy design.

That is absolutely gutting. You might possibly be able to get a replacement through the retailer or directly from HT, I don’t expect it would cost too much to replace £20-£30. First world problems. What this does highlight though is thst HT still hasn’t really solved the issue with powering their figures, batteries are a stupid idea, so is a battery pack, they need a magnetised unit build into their stands to power figures, or at least a system similar to CCFL, this way accidents like this will not happen. Sorry that it has though, as it is a figure of the year and grail for me.

@@TK421CollectiblesI don’t think going back to the retailer or HT would be a problem as you’re admitting fault and then paying for the part, however at the same time yes you may find it parted out on eBay, I’m into two minds as to whether I agree with someone stripping figures down and selling parts but if one comes up then go for it but you should still have retailer and HT route. Its to bad but no one stops to read instructions anymore to the point where a lot of items dont even come with instructions anymore. My favorite thing when i get a new item is to read the entire instruction booklet before doing anything. Goes back to my childhood days when all the Atari games came with instructions, etc. Now no games come with instructions.

Oh 100% I agree with you there!! I used to love the instruction manual with video games! Used to read it on the way home from the shop, helped to get even more hyped for the game! I get really annoyed with myself if I break something. Thankfully it's only happened once (Battle damaged Vader). Minor break, 99.999% of people wouldn't notice, but I know its there. The light up head is a gimmick, so I didn't order thar version. The Sebastian headsculpt is the only way to display this one.

Hey Eric! Nah it's my fault so I wouldn't put this on the retailer. Profit margins are slim for retailers as it is! I will hopefully just pick a replacement helmet up off ebay at some point 👍🏻 Regarding FOTY, for me Original Trilogy stuff outranks everything! So as much as I love the OWK Vader I'd still choose this ROTJ one over it if I had to pick just one! 👍🏻 Thanks for watching 🙌🏻

Are you going to reach out to hot toys for a replacement? Even if its at cost? I really dont see why they cant incorperate the electronics in to the body or neck So when you click the head in the cable connects to a board in the neck £400 for a toy with cables everywhere is something we saw 20 years ago Eveything should be inside the doll these days One of the reasons why i cancelled my pre order when i found out about the box and cables

Nah it's my fault so I will take the hit and try and fix it or buy a replacement off ebay or something. Hot Toys would probably want the full figure back to exchange and that's not something I can be bothered with tbh, and like I say it's my fault not their's at the end of the day 😌 And you're right, all the wiring is a bit clunky tbh and your idea of the electronics in the body/neck is a far better solution! Ah mate. Absolutely gutted for ya. I can tell how upset you were. Don’t buy a second one. Trust me. That helmet will be on eBay as seen as it’s more readily available. May be a bit pricey but cheaper than a second figure. Then just use your broken one as a cool pencil topper 😂 or sell it broken. Someone will mod or repair it.
