I BROKE MY MARIMO MOSS BALL, NOW WHAT!? | MOSS BALL PROPAGATION + CARE | TRENDING HOUSEPLANT 2019

So, I'm freaking out, anxious, sweaty, because I broke my #MarimoMossBall in half. lol! After a series of research, I realized that I merely #propagated my moss ball without me even knowing it. What a happy accident!

★Basic Care for Your Marimo
You do not need to “feed” your marimo. Because they are living plants, marimo create their own food via photosynthesis. You can see this happen when the marimo is exposed to indirect sunlight: the ball will get covered in tiny oxygen bubbles, and may float depending on how much oxygen it releases.
Be sure to change the water once every two weeks, using tap or filtered water that has been allowed to sit for at least 24 hours. Gently squeeze your marimo to release any gunk that has been filtered from the water. If algae buildup occurs in the enclosure, clean the surface with a brush.
Keep your marimo out of direct sunlight, which can heat the water quickly and easily turn your marimo brown. Keep in mind that marimo naturally live on the bottom of cool lakes where only partial sunlight reaches them and they are well-adapted to photosynthesize under normal household lights. If your space has no windows, keep your marimo close to a fluorescent or full-spectrum light source.

I think mossballs in jars are soooo cute but once I tried it I didn’t like how it looked in my room so I just got a betta and filled its tank with mossballs and aquatic plants 🙌🏼 I collect houseplants and now I can collect aquatic plants and also be spoiling my fish with lots of plants
