Yeah he should be a Cnc machinist and have a aerospace machine shop train him for free and pay him at the same time and make 80k within a year. College is a waste of time for hands on people. Unless your gonna be a doctor, scientist, nurse, engineer, lawyer, it pretty much a crap shoot riddled with tons of debt and a job that makes you 40-50k. Don’t ask me how I know.....

I would disagree to a certain extent. A bachelors degree in a scientific field is something that can never be taken away from you considering most people spend 45+ years in the workforce.
@danhoyland1423 жыл бұрын
I agree with you on that but he said he’s a c -d student so on paper that path wouldn’t make sense for him. He would be miserable in those classes and would be uninterested. Plus they usually have a gpa requirement so he might be kicked out and forced to take up another major which means it would be a waste of time and energy. You gotta be really passionate to do well in those harder majors. You can’t just go to class and expect to pass, it takes real skill and dedication. This kid to me after watching the video has all the attributes of a great sales person. He’s smart, he’s a go getter, and he likes to doing things and not being stuck in one place. He could get any generic degree like communications or business and party his ass off and get Cs across the board In school and still make more than most of the kids in harder majors. He’d be a great outside sales person or a business owner. I mean he’s got a hay business and a truck he was able to dump tons of money into and he’s not even 20. He’s doing well plus I’m sure he makes a couple grand a month from KZbin. I got a million of friends including myself who graduated college and didn’t have that kind of money around to spend for like 6 or 8 years. It’s a rat race out there and you gotta go with your strength and not put yourself in a square hole if your a round peg just because society says you have too. This kid and his sweet mullet have the right idea. Plus I have seen it a million times... c students go into sales and make the most money or start a business and can grow it and make out real well bc they are cool as hell and just go after it. Introverts just sit there with their smarty pants degree and barely move up the latter cuz they got no balls!

I'm almost 70 Coop and to be 17 again and to have the world by the tail would be something. I worked for a year after graduation and saved for 1 year in college, applied while at Eastern Illinois for a state teacher's scholarship which I was approved, but Illinois had financial problems in 1970 and the new governor rescinded all new scholarships. I went back to work, met the girl of my dreams and married (49 years and counting) and eventually went into law enforcement eventually promoted to detective in the violent crimes unit and later to internal affairs. You're right dude, college is not for everybody, but with the mechanical and farming experience it sounds like you're doing the work you love. Continue on young man and never look back.

I didn't get a degree , and I do sort of regret it. I taught my daughters " you never know what you can do until you've learn how to". I think it's important to never quit learning ( something, anything -your choice ) and to never sell your self short . What you don't like or care about now may change and you can always revisit the idea. You are a very capable young man and a true asset to your family and community. God bless you.

At the BBS, they taught everything from plumbing to car repair to civil construction (building roads, sidewalks, walls, etc. ) and even farm and dairy. And along with that, certificates were even awarded to those who complete the course making them more employable. Many of the programs also required you go to school until your sophomore year.

You and your brother are blessed. Your family has prospered due to the hard work by your Grandpa. You see this and you would do him a real solid by telling Cole to quit calling him a hoarder. Such a negative for such a good man, that put a life of prosperity in place then left that life for you all to continue.

That's a beautiful electric blue. Maybe kit the back? Liner to protect it from rust and a flat bed cover? You could put a base speaker and some lights in the back. Agree with a tribute to your grandpa. Either under the back cover so when u lift it it lights up with cool neon blue or u could put it under the hood. But how often do you open the hood? That or put it on the tail gate. Get rid of the tires until winter. Get regular now for summer. Switch them out for snow days.

Paint a collage of all important things you do on farm. Family, hay work, combining, bin building, your Grampa and you working on your pickup, etc

You need "FOR YOU GRANDPA" graffiti style under your bonnet, or hood, in your case. 👍😎👍🇬🇧MDS

I think the wheels look great on it! I had a similar truck (mine was a 76). The front cab supports were rusted and I had to fabricate new ones. You can get the Rhino lining with the same color as the rest of the truck. Chrome up the engine bay... get something done for your grandpa on the underside of the hood. College isn't for everyone.... Do what make you happy and successful (in your eyes, not someone else's opinion)

I know about the C D student thing, but I have worked as a mechanic all my life and did very good. The skill that you have welding and repairing things is natural gift that they can not teach you to understand in school. The Vo Tech dept is the only one that under stands. The world needs people like you and you do not have to go to college, just do what you do best and let Cole do his thing and you will have a very good life. God Bless you and your family and keep up the good work.

I was so bored in high school that the last year I took Cooperative Health Education (CHE). Worked half a day and only went to school till 11:30. Worked as a doctor’s assistant. After grad worked at my parents business until they retired and thought I’d really like to go to nursing school but am I smart enough??? Went in and tested expecting to get a letter with big red letters saying NO ACCEPTANCE, YOU’RE AN IDIOT!!! I was accepted and entered with scores in the top of my class! What??? Was on the President’s Honor Roll every semester of school. OMG! I wasn’t stupid. I was bored!!!

Love that truck of yours! Takes me way back, and you did such a great job on it! I think I'd try to color match the spray on liner, or just choose a shade of blue that goes well. That trim package looks awesome! The pattern it makes, and the finish on the paint. That is one sweet truck, to be sure! Thanks for sharing Coop!

You can weld. Polish those skills. It is becoming a lost art. I had a '73 Chevy C10. I won it on my 17th birthday. I drove it for almost 20 years. It was also a beautiful blue. Can't go wrong with a beautiful blue truck.

A C or D may be a success and being successful at anything is what it's about . Keep it up. Nice truck also. I had a '78 for a long time. Kept going through clutches and somebody made me the right offer at the right time and that truck left the building.
