Re: Auto-tapper, it seems to prioritize using pain lands for colorless mana above leaving extra colors available. Wish there was a setting somewhere to change auto tapper priorities (so you could prioritize say leaving colors up vs basics vs saving life or whatever)

it's also worth noting that at the time of paying, the only card in Seth's hand that cost 1 mana was green, so the auto-tapper saw no reason to leave up the pain land.

I have a similar decklist though i added the less budget friendly innkeepers talent to passively grow my little dorks, add another ward 1 layer and potentially mana sink to make toadstool and scavenger better. I find the deck struggles a lot with draw power and is hard to navigate against dimir flash which is why I also included a couple of "Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar" - to outright prevent any spell casting on my turn and draw at least some cards. Plus he is rather easy to protect in this deck.

Tbh it's probably better to just run Aven Interrupter or play around counterspells. I always make sure to keep up Royal Treatments and Shardmage's Rescues for that reason

Also the matchup against Sheoldred's Edict and 3/4 of the Duress in the guys deck. Pretty much my experience trying to play a similar deck though, when it's good it's good but when it's bad horrible.

I have a similar deck, and there is a card that would be absolutely magical in this deck that worked great for me. Yenna, Redtooth Regent being able to copy things like Sheltered By Ghosts, Ossification, and Ethereal Armor makes it a must-kill 4/4 on turn 4 or you just win the game.

I remember playing bogles in a casual format, and it really didn't work well without cycling lands. With cycling lands it was much more consistent (though a bit slower).

I've been playing bogles in pioneer and have been trying to make it work in standard and arena. Armored armadillo and toadstool are the foundation for the version us in the bogles discord use. Tamakul has proven to not be worth the extra mana and the armadillo has the benefit of adding its toughness to its power which goes nuts with ethereal armor.

Saiba Cryptomancer is another option to build bogles. 2 mana flash 0/1 creature, with hexproof and backup 1.

I was wondering about Cryptomancer also, but I guess you'd have to have a Bant manabase and just substitute that for Tomakul Honor Guard. Would that make something this low to the ground too inconsistent in standard? Or maybe just break the budget?

I've been running this deck for a couple months and love it. I like Slumbering Keepguard for some scrying/scales with enchantments. And invasion of gob copying is nice

We do have both Obstinate Baloth and Wilt-Leaf Liege in standard right now. Either one could work in the sideboard as discard hate that gives a free body to then load up with auras. Edicts are tough, though. Not much to be done about that

You didn't need to scoop at 7:28. They could reanimate your stuff but without your auras they were pretty weak. You could keep one creature and keep buffing it. Especially since the first strike on ethereal armor gave you both big stats and a way to get in attacks

arenas autotapper will go out of its way to make sure lands never cause you damage. To the point of leaving open forest instead of brushland. saccing treasures before tapping lands for pain too

If they can play Nowhere To Run on curve it's a clean answer, but there are a decent amount of play patterns in the footage that grows things to 4 power such that they'd need to spend that plus hard removal to get rid of the 'boggle', so it could still win on tempo. Liliana or another edict effect might end up being more efficient counterplay.

@@matthieupique209 other fun trick with calix out and a ethereal armor on one, you can clone it after first strike and drop it on another attacker before they do damage to pump them, usually fairly big with armor. Or multiple shelters.
