I love Giada. She’s such a problem that people never want to remove. She’s my commander in my mono white angel deck and once I start playing the life gain angels that make angel tokens, the only answer is a board wipe.

Giada is a generically overpowered creature like Kinnan. Its not that no one wants to remove her, its she consistently sneaks out turn 1 maybe turn 0 and casual timmies think shes a 6-7 💀💀💀

I’m curious about mixing boros convoke with orzov life gain. I sadly just don’t have the wild cards to get there. Life gain already has so much cumulative value, with the right high end recursion in the deck it can go up against even control into the late game. Adding to that an even more explosive early game and access to lightning helixes sounds amazing. You’d also be able to get angel of wrath into the deck with full access to the kickers

I tried five color angels before mkm and had mild success up till diamond. I ran a etb version with roaming throne and artifact ramp pieces to get to Sanctuary Warden or a fully kicked Archangel of Wrath. To bring it back to its Boros roots especially with Vinidcator and Aurelia seems like a good idea.

It would have survived anyway. but you're right. It's better to do it before prowess resolve in case they have something else.

In this particular case it wouldn't have mattered but if the opponent had a shock or something it would have made the difference.

@@Kino280 What do you mean, the swiftspear dies if he ordered it correctly, it mattered alot regardless of what instant spell they had in hand as long as it didn't buff toughness! xD The swift spear is 1/2 before the first prowess trigger comes down, so, if you lightning strike it for 3, when the second prowess trigger and buff spell hit and resolve it's still only a 4/3 which would mean it does not survive the lightning strike

@CovertGoblue - a few spicy ideas, probably too spicy, maybe sideboard? Idk.. 1/2x Expedited Inheritance? Can use some of your incidental damage like Archangel of Wrath to ping and get impulse draw? Other ideas: Case Of The Uneaten Feast? Swap Get Lost for March of Otherworldly Light? Mishra's Command? (single red mana give an angel haste, more burn/draw late game) Heartflame Duelist turns Lightning Strike into Lightning Helix and Lightning Helix into a bolt+6 life gain which triggers Resplendent Angel, plus represents extra burn-reach late game. The mono red decks seem to get a significant bit of their power/explosiveness from their spells amping their creatures in combat.. any thought for Thalia? or does it hurt us too much too?

Its very weak to early aggression since angels start at 2 which dies to just about everything under the sun but the more impactful one starts at 4 and 5 (angels with kicker and resplendent activation). I think something like Sanguine Evangelist is a decent addition to stem the bleeding. Sure its not an angel but it does contain 'angel' in the name. That counts, right?

Look to the cheap red 1 or 2 damage to all creatures over the 2 mana removal, or over half of it. Mini boardwipes to fit a mini meta of fast red cheap shit, boros cheap shit. Is there a 2 mana red spell that does 2 damage to all creatures legal in arena? Brotherhood's end? Hell, earthquake? That loss at the end was worth. Not for you, for that guy.
