As someone who has worked at a bowling alley as a mechanic, if the dimensions of the ball are the exact same as a regular manufactured one. Then i personally dont see what would be causing it to go off track. It is extremely rare for balls to go off track unless there is a build up of dirt and stuff on the tracks themselves. If anything I would either test the ball on another lane to see if it happens again or test a different ball on that same lane. I had this happen 1 time and my main mechanic who had worked there for 30 years said it was his first time ever seeing that happen. We cleaned the gutters weekly and opened the underground track and cleaned off the track monthly.

That ball definitely looks and rolled better than the last 2!!! Super weird about it getting stuck in the ball return though. Just a thought but you could cut out the thumbhole and fingerhole parts of the silicone mold to get an undrilled ball, then drill it however you want. Also, try making the next one out of bowling ball plug material instead of epoxy! I have to imagine you'll get more hook if you do that.

What he needs is a standard ball mold that the real ball companies use. Then he can center the core and make a legit ball.

@@BornIn1500yeah I said that last video. But I gotta admit the mold he made is pretty good for complete diy. Hey Michael! Have you thought about throwing that ball on a Haus machine? It might be slightly out of round. Heck, print yourself another 3D ball and make a mold of it. Whoever does the CAD could put your logo in it. The other thought was another 3D ball- and fill the inside with resin? Kill 2 birds with one stone... Keep it round and make it strong and heavy enough....

@@220avg your mold has flexible walls and might be bulging at the sides from the weight of the liquid resin. You will probably get more spherical results if you put the mold inside the old box it was cast in, or even better build a rigid wooden box to reinforce the silicone walls.

Reason why its getting stuck is because it is a fraction smaller than a normal ball due to the resin shrinking during the drying phase. Make the mold a little bit bigger or add some more coats of resin. Bowling balls over time also shrink too! My buddy had a problem getting his ball back after not bowling for 10 years, Putting the balls side by side we could tell it was smaller!

Just get a couple pieces of steel, some concrete with a form, or even some lead and make a core thats symmetrical or asymmetrical at a point(this is more difficult since you can mess it up).
