With the help of a conversion calculator I figure out that rig is getting 9.8 to 10.23 mpg. In my eyes that's pretty good all things considered. Thanks for sharing this video with all of us. Have fun take care

Very cool. A lot of times, self made builds do not overly impress me, but this was well thought out and obviously well done. The right man for the job right here. Certainly could have a shot at his own start up company. Or at the very least work for 1 as their designer/engineer. Interesting content.

The most incredible build I've ever seen is still the C5500 TopKick 4x4 build by user NeverEnough on the Expedition Portal forums, starting back in 2010. A slide-out with slide-outs, tilt-up roof, matching trailer, rigid composite construction, and top of the line materials / components throughout. It's an incredible machine! He's doing a smaller build right now (since his kids have grown up and moved out), but hasn't put up a thread yet for that one. Definitely recommended, but be prepared for 700+ posts in the thread!

I'm from Halifax, and live very close to the auto port; I'm amazed I didn't see this behemoth rolling by. I'm guessing he didn't try taking it across either of the bridges as I suspect his trip would have ended PDQ. Anyway, I love kooky stuff and DIYers, so this is awesome.

I understand the desire to build something yourself but I think a fifth wheel camper would be more practical. You can unhook from it and still have a truck bed.

For 200k or even 100k why wouldnt you just get a regular bed camper?
@shitloveaduck Жыл бұрын
That wasn’t exactly a roomy camper for sure, but if you have a dream to build it and it gives you satisfaction, why not? If you go crazy, you can spend 100k on a truck camper alone, then you need a F350 or F450 to haul it. At that price the camper would be 4 seasons though. 😊
@macbook802 Жыл бұрын
Im not trying to be a bearer of bad news, but you can buy brand new truck campers with more space, better looking, better engineering, better practicality, better aerodynamics, and lighter weight for less than $80,000.00. Plus they are easy to remove and reinstall so you dont have to give up your truck. Also their values drop like bricks. That same 80k model with 5 years on it is less than 30k

@@TFLnow No man, I just don't like deception. I'm an entrepreneur and an aspiring Earth Roamer owner and to compare this home made camper to something "as good as" an Earth Roamer is insulting to the people who've put decades of work and craftsmanship into that company. You might as well review a home made Toyota Tacoma and say it's as good as a Trophy Truck in your title.
