funny enough i work at a catcafé in Barcelona, here we do not have separate spaces for the cats and the café space, but the kitchen part is a different room though where cats can't enter. Also we do not let to many people in at once as we don't want the cats to get stressed if there is too many people and obviously there are rules that must be followed. And I am so happy to tell that almost 280 cats have found their forever home through us!

In my country there's two types of cat cafés; the one with adoptable cats and non-adoptable cats. The ones with non-adoptable cats usually have their cats in "shifts". They're in the cafe for a couple hours and then they clock out and stay in the calm cat room that isn't for the public. Some cafés have their cats caged for the night after closing up and have their cats out in the cat room an hour before opening time so the cats can have their meals and stretch before their shifts begin. Cute café btw!

I live in the US, driving distance from lilsimsie. it's the same thing here. i don't know any that do shifts per se, but I do know that some allow them to go between the cat rooms and the cafe space as they please

I think they could actually 100% get away with doing a garage and garage clutter kit IF they framed it as a "Garage Sale" kit instead! They could give up more items and clutter to use for garage's, a garage sale table that functions similar to the other sales tables in game but maybe look real home made, and then perhaps clutter items that worked like dumpsters where you could maybe get furniture and other items clutter and decor that you could either sell on the table or use the decorate your home. That would make it more of a functionality and decor kit, than specifically a CAR and garage kit, and I think it would be better received that way while still being able to give us the kinds of things you want

I actually think cars could work just as a semi-functional decorative item. Like, you don't drive the cars around. They're stationary. But if you place one down and the sim can access it, clicking on it gives you the same travel options as clicking far out on the street or using the phone. Maybe they add a woohoo in car option (scandalous). I think that would be a happy medium of giving us cars while not messing with the overall car-lessness of the game currently, and it would fit right in with a little garage pack with the doors and clutter items Kayla describes. Garages are often used as storage spaces and workshops, so a handiness focused main gameplay option or a way to access the household inventory without entering build mode would go with it really well.

The sims team is really in between a rock and a hard place when it comes to cars 😭 it would be SO COOL to get a car-themed stuff pack where they brought back the fixer upper car from Sims 2 free time and maybe added real garage doors, but they KNOW if they do something like that, they'll get so much heat for not adding actual cars! And it's a shame because Kayla is right, ALL the worlds in this game are designed around not having cars. They'd have to change too much to make cars realistic, or confine them to one world which people would also hate. It's like the difference between adding infants versus completely changing or deleting newborns. They were able to add a life state without impacting old saves without that life state, but if they'd deleted the newborn objects, SO many old saves would break. If they made major changes to ALL the in-game maps, so many old saves would break I can't imagine how they'd work around that. I just wish there was a way they could temper community expectations to give us SOME elements of cars that players want that could be more feasible, without upsetting the players who want more

If we do get cars it will probably be in the sims 5. I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t add any car stuff to the sims 4 but they’re probably working on it with project rene

I know, there's definitely worlds where I wish I could have a car since Sims have to walk a ridiculous amount of time to get anywhere (especially the Get Famous mansion area, that's ridiculous). But yeah so much stuff is designed to *not* work with cars I don't know how they'd do it. Which is kind of bizarre to me, they didn't think about the fact people would want that sometime in the past 10 years? I wish we could at least get some other options for transportation like skateboards, tricycles/those little cars you control with your feet, roller skates, eBikes or motor scooters for old people

I've been to one cat cafe in Poland and one in France and both had cats where you ate, but also spaces for the cats to go away from people and be alone.. And there was just cats everywhere, so much fur, like being home ❤

I think the experience it depends on where you are. I have also been in a cat café and its was very smelly the cats we're mostly very shy and did not seem happy also some fighting between the cats. Just very gray concrete with some cat trees 😅😢

@@evelina4909 Sounds like they didn't have the cat's best intentions in mind, then.. Both the places I was at didn't smell, their litter boxes were in a separate area, and all the cats were chill and got along.. Not every cat wanted to interact with people, but there were a lot of spaces for them to just hang out and watch people.. Lots of high shelves for them to get away and none of them allowed people to physically lift any of the cats, the cats had to come to you.. I took a lot of inspiration for my own home, when building spaces for my cat, she can chill in my living room at heights where she'll feel safe and observe, but no one can reach or bother her..

​@@NightswarmerI'm in the UK and both cat cafes I've been to have been great and put the cats welfare in mind. Both are non-adopt, run by the cats owners and have three floors, one floor being for cats only so they have proper chill space! One café is former rescues and more casual, the other in the city is more pedigrees and themed with cat blankets and cups etc and a fully vegan menu (helps keep the cats uninterested in human food too 😂) Thankfully both also have age limits of no under 7s... I've heard of a cat cafe further north that has a kids time and kids parties which sounds awfully stressful for the cats 😢

A way to get a garage door without putting in cars: lawn care kit! You can have a weed-wacker, weed puller, lawn mower aaaaaannndd a *riding* lawn mower. So they add a garage door so you can ride your lawn mower into a shed! And voilà! A garage door without cars!

This makes me so happy! My cat just got home from the vets after he stayed overnight. He got a nasty skin tear under his armpit and needed stitches but he's okay now and home ❤ he's one of a set of twins and he was scared without me and his brother going to the vets for that long and surgery, but he's okay now and asleep snoring away on my bed. I do shift click to add pets, but I always make sure that they say stray on them. Where the museum is on the island I usually change that to a animal hang out so that the strays will actually go to that place and then I can go in and adopt them.

I love the cafe chairs being upstairs. lol I use The Sims for story worldbuilding a lot to get an idea for spaces in my writing, and I recently was working on a pub/upstairs apartment an MC owns and works in, and since he was low on funds and focusing on his business, he just used one of the spare tables and sets of chairs from his pub that he put in storage in case it gets busy for his dinner table (so his employees could use his place for D&D night) even tho they don't really go with his apartment.

The cat cafe I have been to (in Aus) had 2 seperate rooms, for eating and for cats. It worked really well! You could still see the cats while you were eating but it kept it all easier to clean. This build is super cute! ❤

Maybe removing the Cat Neighbourhood trait would make it work better? I used the Cat Hangout on one of my residental builds for a while to help with my sim's aspiration and I regularly had like 5 strays hanging out at my house. You can also adopt strays by befriending them!

I'd be down for a Garage pack with fake cars you could get from build/buy mode. Though, if they were to do that, it would be cool if it added some gameplay features. Sims 2 throwback, but I think it would be cool if you could do a car fixer-upper that allows a certain amount of customization. Would your Sim ever be able to actually drive the car they made? No, but it would have a garage and a driveway to display it in. It would also have the option that allows you to sell said car. Then with the pack there would be a feature that would be added to the base game: again, like in the Sims 2 you'd have animations where kids and teens enter a bus when they head off to school and the bus can then drive off and disappear. The adults meanwhile might be picked up by a taxi or a car that represents a carpool. Also, I've thought this for some time, but you sound like an exceptional cat Guardian. You get 5 more gold stars for that. I consider the upstairs apartment to be Snap's still and the kid's room is begrudgingly for Shrimp since he is a kid in comparison to her and he wants to be her friend so much.

You can in fact live in a community lot! Put down a community lot, then save it to your library but with the lot saved as a residential, then go to manage worlds, place the residential version, and now go to another household, go back to manage worlds, and now it should be marked as a business, with the lot icon and a plumbob above it. It is basegame compatible but it makes it so you can’t access your household funds because of the business fund system.

At the cat cafés near me, the cats do just get to chill and wander round where you're eating. They can't go into the kitchen space, obviously, but once you've got your food out in the main café it's all cat friendly space.

To get your garage door they could do like a “bike garage” pack where it would create a way to customize the bikes in the game it would also encourage people to use the bikes as well because I feel like they don’t get used that much And i imagine the build stuff be like fun graffiti stuff and spray cans and obviously garage items they could also give us a functional bike rack with it

This is so so pretty, I'd absolutely go to it if it was real! One of my cat's has anxiety and hides in my room, but the other is very very social and we have to lock her up so people can do what they need. People have mistaken her for a baby from the wailing she makes, like ma'am pls just let the people work. I think a nurse was contemplating blessing the house, she didn't fully believe it was a cat till we let her out. If she won't get in the way or it's not a person fixing things, we'll let her stay out and she demands attention from the strangers (we have people over so rarely that even our family are strangers to her)

10:21 I've said it before and I'll say it again... we need a motorcycle pack!! Just imagine: reusing the base mechanics for bicycles, which we already have; super cool motorcycles that can drive on the existing roads; introduce dirtbiking as a sport; the CUTEST Vespas; lil 75 cc bikes for kids; adding "Teach to Ride Motorcycle" to the parenting skill, and teens can take a motorcycle driving test in high school; bad*ss CAS with leather jackets and dope boots and super cool motorcycle gear; BB garage supplies like tool boxes and hand tools and other garage clutter; an update to the handiness skill where working on a motorcycle helps build it; a new death; a world with a track or two to help build the motorcycle skill; dirtbike/motorcycle competitions (similar to Horse Ranch, just with more horse power lol)... you get the point. MOTORCYCLES!!!!

I am personally happy we don't have cars in the sims, cars create so many issues in real life that I just don't want in the Sims. I like it being so pedestrian-centered.

The cat cafe I went to in DC has a partner deal with a regular cafe nearby. The cat cafe makes an order from their partner cafe once per visiting time slot, so food prep and cats stay completely separated.

its the cats apartment someone just go up there to make sure they are taken of and someone could "stay there" to take care of like sick cats or kittensq

I've just adopted a kitty called Tímon, he's 4 and he's the joy of my life xxx he came from a foster mum who couldn't keep him cuz her cat isn't very friendly, he was set to be put down 😢 he's such a cuddly baby so I'm so happy I could save him ❤🎉
