Same 💓 I’m a small business owner & exactly in this moment my fiancé told me I should do it full time & not go to work 2mrw, so I’m like stuck with a decision to make today. I get constant messages of when I’m going to go live but I can’t sometimes because of my job. I get off at 4:30pm, but I have to drive to pick up my son from school & traffic is horrible so takes me 30-40min to get him. Then I drive another 30min to get my oldest from his job. He’s saving to buy a car. I am usually home by 6:45-7 & as soon as I get home I get dinner ready, then pack orders & check on the store (in between I’m eating 🥣 lol) & I go drop off packages before 9:30pm same day. I’m still in my work clothes & then I get home, shower, change and it’s rare I get on Netflix, watch tv…if I watch anything it’s videos like this so I can try to teach myself. Idk how to make my logo into a colored sticker at home or how to make thank you cards from home. I order everything on sticker mule but like most small business owners I try to cut down on cost. 😅 I hope she has a video on how to do this 🙏 I have a Jaden thermal printer I got on Amazon for my shipping labels, but it only does black & white unless I’m missing something…Do you have to buy another thermal printer that does color? I wish there was a private group where we can go ask each other these questions lol ❤💯

You put so much hard work in behind the scenes that ppl do not see to produce quality products. So many times I wanted to throw in the towel but this little voice in my head keep telling me “DON’T YOU DARE” no matter the struggle I continue to forage ahead. This is my DREAM. Honestly, with the sub count you have and the average view count on your videos, you could easily lean more into the YT content creation side of things and supplement your income quite a bit with ad revenue, all while marketing your brand. Relying on just sales is scary - diversifying your income streams is the way to go. Loving the content - helps me get in the mood to keep working on my own stuff. From one small business owner to another - keep it up!

This is mostly why most small businesses fail in the first 2 years. People try to do too much, get overwhelmed, and don't see it through if they hit failures. Just gotta remember to keep it simple, and we WILL fail here and there (just part of the process). People like this person succeed because they just shrug it off and find a better way to move forward.

Epic story. Well done. Zero talking in front of the camera. Had to pause and rewind and fast forward to read it all (I’m OCD like that). I’ve been selling my own clothing brands for over 10 years (Low Label). Doing things completely different than you in most ways. People ask me how I run my biz. I tell them how, but I also say there are a million ways to do it. This gave me some new ideas. And don’t worry, even after having success I still freak out and have anxiety during every launch, sale, Black Friday, pre-order, and vendor booth at events. It’s all an experiment, just focus on one day at a time and try to plan as best as you can for the future. Keep learning, stay humble, and find a way to laugh more and have fun. Sometimes I think I should get a regular job, and then I remember how far I’ve came on my own. From one biz person to another, keep doing your thing! 🙌🏼

@THE LIFE OF MOBO The moment they congratulate, etc. is the moment you stop trying for better. That's often the mindset. Being over critical, amongst other characteristics lead them to be our bane and maybe even our rival. No one improves without a rivalry. The movie Joy Luck Club spells out a lot about Asian Mom's. I'm sure the book does the same, but I haven't read it yet.
@jasonfrost5025
@jasonfrost5025 Жыл бұрын
@@MickeyInSD Doesn't mean it's healthy or even appropriate. I get that cultures have different expectations, and especially among many 1st generation immigrant parents who sacrifice their lives for their kids. That said, just being a loving parent can be significantly more beneficial and motivating. I haven't had any 2nd generation Asian American friends who appreciated their parents. They almost all resented them pretty deeply. Not all of them were materially successful either, so it's not like this perfect formula for success or progress. Sometimes just being kind and supportive will propel a kid (or person) into greater heights than being cold and calculated.
@Mickey_De
@Mickey_De Жыл бұрын
@@jasonfrost5025 I agree. I think that all of us are limited to what we know, this includes our knowledge of how to be with our children. Some of us as humans learn to be different in our version of what we believe is better and we're lucky enough to be successful in the execution but most of us fail to be as nurturing, supportive, kind, etc. as we want to be. I think of @ernestomobojr's comment. Maybe their parents did not want to influence their child in anyway good or bad so that they can truly be their own authentic person. Maybe they didn't know any better. Maybe seeing their child in something like car racing or even be an athlete that could get hurt is terrifying. I remember that my Mom told me you should never bring a dish or drinks to a party as it says to the host that they are not good enough to throw a proper party without guest contributing. In the American culture you never go to a party empty handed because then you are not showing your appreciation to be part and contribute in a real way to the experience. This was eye opening as I cannot say either culture has the right or wrong idea. Now I can't say it didn't hurt when my parents were absent for my achievements, but I'm not sure if they knew any better. Also back then I was too considerate of their time to ask them to be there for me and too guarded and afraid to tell them what I was doing was important and I needed them to be there. I didn't know how to ask for so much, I just thought my parents should know that they should be there for me at games or whatever. But how could they? How could they know that something is special to me and I want them to experience my high when I succeed and to be there to console me when I fail? I understand that even with telling them, however, they still may not show for any number of reasons that have actually little to do with me and my feelings or everything to do with my feelings. Well thank you to anyone that read this novel. It helped me get my own perspective.

Kind of goes without saying (you'd think), but it is NEVER EASY. People making videos skip all the parts where they were broke and struggled to get things going. They just go straight to "here's my established process now." You're right to recognize that this is pretty much dishonest and misleading. Unless you're born into a family with money and physical space, starting a business is a grueling grind (mentally, financially, and physically). Many of us are working a full-time job in addition to our small operations. It's exhausting. Sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't. I think what's most important (from my experience) is keeping it simple at the start and resisting the tendency to think about too many things. Take small steps each week to build off of. Keep telling yourself that you won't build a corporate empire overnight (no one has--ever). It takes time, sweat, and sometimes tears. Keep it simple, stick it through, and focus on what people and the planet actually want! You can do this!!!!

The most important lesson I learned from it all is to take care of my health and put aside money (I can't touch) regularly no matter how small. In the end if everything fails, you've got your health and retirement money left. You can always do something else. You are giving it your best shot. That's all we can do in life. I wish you the very best.

I think KZbin is a great way to expand your business. Keep making these longer videos - they stick in our heads longer than a 15 second video that gets buried under the 50 other fifteen second videos i watch. Another thing, for me as a customer, is i forget the launch date. Blast that launch date everywhere!!! It should be the first thing i see, last thing i witness as i click off the video, bolded and threateningly looming over me as i read the description. I forget shit, i dont always remember that my shop is launching their new merch. Make me remember it!

Hi, I'm a full time nurse, i have had 2 work related injuries. I'm off work ATM, resting my shoulder (my 2nd work related injuries). I've only started my small business (side hustle) last year. I want to grow my small business into a success. I'm only selling via Facebook and within the hospital I'm working at. I was feeling down but your video cheered me up and inspired me to push through with my small business. Thankyou for sharing your struggles and hard work. I wish you all the health and success this year ❤️❤️❤️

❤️ Love your honesty in this video. I’m a small biz owner, in at just 8 months, and it is so tough. I took a social media break because it felt all so overwhelming. Thank you for showing the raw footage and explaining the true nature of what it means to be a small business owner. Keep going! You are doing great things!!

Unsolicited advice, I know: It sounds a bit counterintuitive, but try not to do too many things at once. It's so easy to just get overwhelmed by thinking you have to do a thousand different things (we don't!). Just focus on baby steps and what works one at a time. I often find myself in this constant cycle of making progress but then being blasted by self-doubt, thinking I have to do all these major things and that I'll never make it when I compare myself to bigger brands. I just take a breath and tell myself that I'm not even there yet; worry about what matters most right now for my brand and customers. The rest will come later.

I know a manager of a store, and they take vacations during slow times. You could rest or prep. Whatever you need to do. Keeping record of it is a great idea so you can see if there is a pattern every year. The holidays are coming and I am sure this is just the calm before the storm. ❤️

Considering the prevalence of fast fashion, clothing is such a tricky space to be in. What's in today won't be in tomorrow, so you either have to make timeless basics, high end one-of-a-kinds, or keep reinventing your brand to keep up with trends.

Girl. I feel for you. I just recently started a small pottery business and although I still have my fulltime job right now and the small business is just a side hustle....Putting your all in it and only having a few people show up to your launch definitely hits hard. I'm sure especially when you are in a situation of low income for 6 months... I'm happy to hear things turned around when you focused on adjusting your videos. It gives me faith that one day I can get there too! ...I have not started a steady KZbin, but that is a future plan to help my small biz grow too!

I am 30 years old, it's been 10 years now that I work as a cleaner, and I am going through a bad phase the last few days, I never understand why do some people look down for cleaning people and maids, and the most disgusting thing that our own boss don't care about us, we are just a tool a number even if we work hard we are replaceable. I just want to make my life better be my own boss, be useful and make myself, my family and people around me HAPPY. Today after browsing a few hours through KZbin, i came across your KZbin video which was suggested to me, I don't know if it's a sign from GOD, But I just love your work and everything you do, you are such an inspiration. Your business will go so far AND i wish you all the best.THANK YOU SO MUCH.

You are 'beyond' amazing. You've worked hard and continually do so at your craft and are constantly striving to learn new ways in order to work with ease and wisdom. What I have found during my years in the Media and my business etc, is that it is not necessarily the talented that rise to the top, there are many at the moment with no talent but yet get all the traction. However, that is short term and leaves no credible or lasting footprint - what you are doing is for the long term and you are very wise. You are a true role model and remember, to all that write and wish you well in the comments can see that you are incredible, you just need to believe that too. Embrace and balance yourself on what you perceive as the 'bad' days, because they are your teacher in how to balance your 'boat' - and when the good days appear you will see how the bad days were and are part of your incredible journey. Sending you an abundance of blessings Overthinker Apparel - you are simply 'one' of the very best out there. Psyche aka Psyche Thompson UK 🌹

How you design the art, styling your items, etc. Also some things that may help: collab with other makers online, reduce prices, find a way to have the shop open longer, become more eco friendly with organic cotton... you have so many options and such a cute shop that is unlike any others. You got this! Life won't always be so hard.

I'm trying to start my own business with my own handmade handbags designs after losing so much during the pandemic, but it takes money for a business license/trademark, website, materials, etc. There are so many expenses to even start from nothing. No one really talks about the cost of starting a small business. Many make it seem so easy when it's not, so thank you for keeping it real by showing the ups and downs. I'm not giving up, even if I have to sell some bags on the side of the road to get enough money to start my brand/business. Praying for the best to hopefully start next year.

I made sales here and there from family and friends that’s about it. It’s not even enough to cover all the expenses.😢 I know failure will come before success for some people. I just might need to make some changes and figure out what works for me. Hopefully, business will pick up down the road. 🤞🏼
