I am not familiar with how the 6bt drives but it sounds like the idle is high and the shifting has rev hang? Also wondering if the cruiser needs a re-gear for this motor because those highway RPMs are killing my mechanical sympathy haha
@Austin_SaintOnge14 күн бұрын
Haha yeah the throttle cable sticks a bit and hands revs. No need to regear, I’ll end up going to 37s eventually! Can’t do a 373 or 3.54 easily without a bunch of work at least from what I’ve seen

@@Austin_SaintOnge sweet deal ! I'm hoping to get my 6bt into my Lexus lx450 but it's more for 2x range and fuel economy and not holding up traffic on hills- so I won't be going above 33's! Great job on this, the fit and finish looks amazing 💯

@johnnygeorgopoulos407218 сағат бұрын
@@holdenbrougham1056 yeah IDK why all import manufacturers, hell, even our own domestic manufacturers, don't bring us the diesel options like they offer elsewhere around the world here for us in the 'States.... they'd sell a lot more of them, plenty of diesel lovers here, and we all know their benefits and better milage 🙄😒😤 Even Canada gets some diesels we don't get down here.... like the little Mercedes built Smart(car) "ForTwo" in diesel.... powered by a little Mercedes turbo diesel I3 OM660.... I want one of those little things badly 😅 (with a full Brabus catalog thrown at it if course, and the glass top lol)

Besides the dope build, love it, I won't ask your town, but what state is that, it's a gorgeous location.... besides the lake, it reminds me of NE/NC Pennsylvania quite a bit, potentially parts of Virginia/West Virginia (nothing beats WV IMO if you're into offroading a mixed, trail type setting, gorgeous trails around there) Edit: ah... Idaho, should've known with the gorgeous scenery 😅

That thing is cool. But damn that thing is loud lol. How will you get the speedo to work?
@Austin_SaintOnge13 күн бұрын
Haha it’s mainly because the transmission tunnel is wide open until I fixed the shifting problem. It actually has a muffler believe it or not! Speedo should be simple, bad ground or harness connectors not connected

Hello, you had a lot of work with replacing the engine with the gearbox. Inside the car in the car there is a noise like in a locomotive, is there a gap near the shifter? How satisfied are you? You know, I admired your quiet 6-cylinder and especially the automatic.. The vibrations on my 1HD-FT bother me and I have the feeling that now you have a vibrator from it. We say at nad that it works like an anvil. So stick with us, we look forward to the sequel. How come there is no snow in Idaho City?
@Austin_SaintOnge14 күн бұрын
Yeah the transmission tunnel isn’t sealed yet, need to figure out what’s going on with the gearbox. Definitely a lot louder than the 1fz. Still got some work to do!

Fantastic build....but those poor brakes aren't long for this earth having to slow down an extra 1000lbs of weight over the front _without_ the use of engine braking because one doesn't heel and toe and get those downshifts in while slowing to a halt 😅 I hope you upgraded your rotors, pads, lines, and are using some higher boiling point fluid 😬

Honestly I had 40s and a six inch lift on my last one and would just downshift and use the stock brake booster and was fine
