19:18; You can attach the mining vehicle to your main vehicle with the welding tool and a block. (In the feature, if you what, you can automate that. With a spudgun, a vacuum pump, a button and a sensor.) Then you can use your lift to your main vehicle, without your mining vehicle falling off. (Just a tip, if you what to attach your mining vehicle, this way.)

No need to overcomplicate it. Just have a pipe at the required spot to weld the miner to, which could be detached by removing one pipe piece which you can then just place back.

24:21 Try putting them on pistons so you can extend them forward to keep the farmbots away from your important bits? Fast pistons might also be able to ragdoll them easier, and once you can afford to put drills back on it might increase the damage the drills do to them as well on the initial hit.

@@fives5555arc Possibly, but you have to hit the ends of a piston to destroy it - the yellow tube has no collision so it can't be hit. But the guns he is planning to install are a better idea.

If you turn the refinery the 180 degrees and put the output chest on the other side, it might pull from the other chest, because it will be slightly closer to the second resource collector (but slightly further from the first)

This should work, the refinery is picky about pulling resources from collectors behind it.

Wouldn't this just reverse the problem and make it so that, intead of picking things from the right but not the left collector, it picked up things from the left and no longer from the right collector?

6:20 Sir... That's Why I told you that you need to build Ram Wedge/Plough in front of your Battle Wagon to protect the Cab. And the reason that Raming did not work is your Battle Wagon is "Too Slow" from the weight of added Refinery.

I suggest putting that front bumper on pistons so you can extend it out to stop the boss bot. If the mining vehicle is using that fork you made for carrying farmers, doesn't that mean you'd have to abandon it in order to carry more farmers? Maybe you should make another one on the other side for farmers.

This is by far my favorite series so far. I hope you drag it out as far as possible. Once you complete everything you can you should make a final base with entry gates and a garage for your truck. Settle down after long years on the road.

Scrapman, learn from the Nomads. Secure your perimeter before settling for the evening. But all bot damage seems to occur where the animation ends. What I mean by that is if a haybot swipes at you and hits about 1 block into a creation of yours, it'll deal a damage roll on that layer of block and everything it hit has a chance of breaking. If it does its stab attack that reaches nearly 3 blocks in, so now everything in about a 2x2x2 block area has a damage roll done on them. Farmbots are cheesey in that their sweeping scythe arm hits about 4 blocks deep and where the scythe is at and across that entire arc of a swing. So him swinging at you was when the damage was done. Technically the girder frame did its job in that it blocked the farm bot from trampling onto you and dealing stomping damage to your vehicle. I'd suggest using all of your girder frames as a bumper and also making backup attachment points so in the case that one gets destroyed, the others don't just drop off. Also use green garment boxes as applique armor. They have a durability of 7, the same as Tier 3 metal at a fraction of the weight.

I expected you to boot up backup save file after the truck got wrecked, I don't think anyone would mind You might be able to utilize both collectors if you move refiner a bit more backwards toward the collector it can't reach, by extending its connection to the chest using pipe I love how the nomad truck is coming together, has this rustic feel about it, comfy!

If you're that concerned about the resource collector not pulling from both sides, make it rotate with the press of a switch!😀 Have one controller opens the roof, raises a piston that's connected baring and a beam with the collectors on it. Then it rotates above the vehicle, lowers back down and closes the roof👌 I'm about to do something like this on my ultimate utility camper truck, but I think I already have too many moving parts🤔😀

You could bring the content of a normal video, but the community would have the chance to just hang out with you. Besides I think that a that unique event will also massively boost your chanel

You should put the rotating sun-screens on the back, to mirror the new craft bot location. This would also free up that other side for another vehicle mount, to balance the weight. Perhaps an oil/water/lumber mini-car. I'd also love to see you start replacing the railings on top with pipe-work, for a more industrial feel. Bit less blocky. Maybe even the vehicle dock too.

Move the resources collectors over 1 or 2 blocks by opening a open on the other side and sliding both collectors towards the new hole. You are only a block or 2 off from having the refine bot pull from both. Give it a try it should work. Great video and series. Keep them coming, I am enjoying it a lot.

Pretty nice little vehicle. If it's just for mining or tree chopping then small and agile is definitely the way to go. Most want to have a collector and refiner on the machine though so they can just keep working. With your mobile base you don't need that so much. Welding it onto the base is the easier and safer way to do it though. Farmbots do have a long reach, so that's why it was hitting things inside your vehicle while you were ramming it. It's lucky that it wasn't hitting you instead. As it was you got off fairly easy on the damage. The last time I ran into one unexpected it destroyed my scout vehicle. Smashed the engine, a couple of wheels and snapped the whole thing in half.

If you can fit it, the refinebot could pull from both collectors if you rotate it 180 degrees so its "face" looks forward instead of at the craftbot. The mining vessel is so cool! I love watching your videos!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. The reason he built a mining vehicle is that the main one is too big and heavy, not versatile enough for all the maneuvering. The smaller one is better at getting around for mining, and for moving around strategic positions, aiming, and shooting bots.

I am going to repeat this for anyone that manages to catch this Nomad bases are Piston powered for a reason... They are usually made of stronger metallic materials that otherwise would not be movable without using piston engines to do it they are often large enough to harbor multiple smaller cars including a mini tank on top of being multilayers armor plated. The are usually as soon as possible equip to the nines to fight the farmbots armors with spinning blades and drills. What Scrap man is doing here can be considered "Extreame Nomad"

tbh i wasn't expecting to enjoy this series, but it's been quite fun and interesting! specially how good the small vehicle is for mining! i don't really like having small ones because i feel it's not practical to have the refinery and resource collectors outside of the main miner and i allways have some kind of trouble but seeing how good small is at mining (and for chopping down trees too, they are amazing) i may do something similar... a portable resource collector+refinery truck that holds the miner/logger

If you have sensors on the front set to max distance you can hook them up in a way where if a sensor goes off then it moves the spud gun in a specific direction to hit the bot. And you can also just have a button to just fire the spud guns. And there is enough room in the hood for the logic gates and stuff. Hood --> _________________ Front --> lOOO!!OO!!OOOl O=sensor. !!=spud gun. And there is the logic behind it.

I remember having a similar issue with the resource collectors I think if you move it over by one or make it a switchable piston system that moves both, what I did wand if you put the resource collectors in line and on the input side of the refiner it will suck both

Fun fact: refinery has some ununsed animations: lots of idle ones (like craftbot scratching it's --head-- camera), mosy notible being stretching one, the one where it clangs the spikes and the one where it "sleeps" and then wakes up like "Uh? Did smth happen?!". Different animations suposed to be used for different rods, more hard smashing animation for rocks, light brushing like one for metal, kind of punching with one side of top for scrap metal, etc.

You don't have to just slap the seat on top, you can inset the seat into the vehicle to save a few blocks in height.

minor suggestion, you should move the middle drill up on the arm so it's not on the same plain as the other drills. That way it won't bounce around and slide off as much cause it has three points of contact.

@ScrapMan An idea is that you can put the seat, engine and fuel canister on top of the vehicle like on a combine. Then put both the resource collectors at the front and turn the refinery 90 degrees so it faces both the collectors :) This way you got way more space inside the vehicle too. And I think it would look pretty cool to be driving it from the 2nd floor so to speak xD I don't like back seat gaming so I just put this out as an idea. You feel free to use it or ignore it ^^ Great video btw! Loving this series!

For farmbot protecting: Maybe you lost the refinery bot, because it is in an open place. Try to close the front of your car, like glass windows. Also a door can help protecting too.

I think that every time scrapman repairs, if he paints it starts out at white until it gets to a purple (no red or black). It may look bad but I think that would be a nice add on to the nomad life

If you attach the resource collectors to a piston you could shimmy them left/right and it would push the collector into position for the refine-bot to grab them.

Yes, smaller vehicles are better for mining. The reason is because bigger vehicles put more stress on the game and that causes inconsistencies when mining. If you ever notice that your smaller vehicle is no longer mining quickly, then you should put the more complex vehicle on a lift and you will immediately see improvements.

Mining is most efficient with very simple vehicles because the game engine has to calculate the effects on every joint on contact with the rock. Less joints means more damage per second.
