You chose one the most ruthless and baddest bots on the planet, AKA: the King of Kinetic Energy! Tombstone will always leave something broken no matter if it wins or loses.
@CreativeMindstorms2 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's what I love about Tombstone! It makes every battle exciting and action-packed!
@tigerrocks5032 жыл бұрын
Some people say Tombstone is outdated as it seems to not win as much as it used to. I disagree on it being outdated, it’s still a simple yet very effective design. The thing is the competition is evolving and bots are getting much more durable and destructive. Tombstone has been upgraded to stay up to date and the one from S6 was entirely built from the ground up and is more powerful than ever. Problem with the redesigned Tombstone is that there is too much weight in the front so the nose is weighing the bot down a bit so the driving is much worse. The insides are more compact though. With Tombstone taking this season off, Ray will have much more time to fix the issues the bot has.
@CreativeMindstorms2 жыл бұрын
You've just perfectly summed up all aspects of Tombstone, and I agree with you! It will be exciting to see what Ray has in store for us next time Tombstone joins the game.
@tigerrocks5032 жыл бұрын
While it does stink not having Tombstone in S7, Ray,s health is more important as he needed that surgery. If you have seen his video on what his hand looked like after the workshop accident…boy it did not look pleasant, I’m glad he still has all his fingers though

How do you connect the pc programm and the robot with bluetooth?
@CreativeMindstorms Жыл бұрын
I strongly recommend taking a look at the following tutorial: www.antonsmindstorms.com/2020/02/14/how-to-connect-a-ps4-dualshock-4-controller-to-your-mindstorms-ev3-brick-with-bluetooth/ The robot can be connected to the computer from "Wireless and Networks > Bluetooth" on the ev3dev operating system. It is very similar to connecting to the PlayStation controller, but instead of putting the controller in pairing mode, you go to your bluetooth settings on the pc and search for new bluetooth devices. You do need the ev3dev operating system on the sd card in the Mindstorms for this. If you have any more questions, let me know!
@Kugelteam Жыл бұрын
@@CreativeMindstormsThanks a lot, but I already knew that, I mean I have a python program on my PC that determines the position of a ball on the camera's image and then I want this program to send the position to the Ev3 via bluetooth.
@CreativeMindstorms Жыл бұрын
That's a cool project! In that case, I use the library ev3_dc for python. This doesn't work with ev3dev / micropython, so remove the sd card. If you want, you could send me an email with some more details and I could help you more with the problem.

@CreativeMindstorms2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for that! I love to help other people make things themselves, but I also do want to focus on the main videos. A how to build video takes a suprising amount of time and combining that with the regular content, school and hobbies is too much for me. You could always try the challenge to design one yourself! I think that is one of the most beautiful things about robots! Anyway, good luck!
@soonfamous2 жыл бұрын
@@CreativeMindstorms I completely understand. Any suggestions on where to get started? Both on buying parts but also building with them.
@CreativeMindstorms2 жыл бұрын
@@soonfamous If you really want to plan out the parts you will need, you could try Stud.io to design the machine first and then order the parts through bricklink. But I would strongly recommend just building with a collection of lego in real life, because it is a lot easier. That does mean that you don't know which parts you will need though. Generally, you will need lego technic liftarms, gears, panels, frames and connectors. You could make a quick sketch like at 0:42, so that you at least know what motors, sensors and electronics you will need in advance. With that said, I wish you and your son lots of fun and good luck! Feel free to come back to ask more questions!

You should increase the power and speed as u make another one and battle them to the deaths! (Make a arena too without Lego so u don’t use all ur legos)
@CreativeMindstorms2 жыл бұрын
I agree that would be cool! But it would also be difficult since I already used two motors and couldn't get it to spin faster and stronger than it did. But thanks for the suggestion! I'll write it down!
@Ultima_burst2 жыл бұрын
@@CreativeMindstorms ok!- well maybe you can try more gears?
@Ultima_burst2 жыл бұрын
@@CreativeMindstorms like a big gear going into a smaller one- that makes it faster and more torque
@CreativeMindstorms2 жыл бұрын
That's unfortunately not how it works. The faster you make it spin, the less torque you have. Whatever gear combination you use. You can see this at 1:32 . I used gears to speed it up, but that meant it wasn't strong enough. It would be nice if it worked like that though! 😆
