From the Maus 5 days ago to this, a scaled down Ratte. Missing the Maus turrets in the back, and the Wirblwind guns on top. But other than that, this looks great. You did what you could in Sprocket and it looks amazing. You did a great job on this.

You do know that riveted armor is really bad in real life right, the reason being is because if a shell hits a rivet directly it doesn’t have penetrate armor to injure the crew because the shell would hit rivet and turn it into a projectile I also wouldn’t be to surprised is the devs actually implemented that into the game probably why a lot of your tanks get destroyed easily

the main reason would be that the armour is riveted to a mild steel frame which makes it relatively easy to break off

​@@Journey_to_who_knows Because it is easy to do. You don't need much time to teach someone how to use a rivet Gun. A better thing is welded Armor, but many countries struggled with the amount of experienced welder needed, so they had to be trained first, which took months to years. And cast-armor is a nightmare to produce, so Not many bothered with it.

for future reference, friends, the Ratte P1000 got the second part of it's name, P1000, for being a 1000 ton tank, there are also multiple different designs and [as he said in the video] was only a proposal never to see production so in other words.. just have fun with the design as he did if your doing this too and it'll be just as realistic as the last. Everything you make is more realistic than the actual blueprint since it was so heavy it couldn't even use bridges to get to the battle, was calculated to move 5MPH despite 4 submarine engines [U-Boat engines as they called them] and would sink in.. a lot of terrain. It was also supposed to be everything from mobile comms, bunks, infirmary, living space, and much more.

an interesting fact about the Ratta is if it was built it would have weighed significantly more than 1000 tons considering the turret it would have used would most likely be one similar to the turrets on the Gneisenau battleship which alone weigh 800 tons and tank hulls are usually 3 times heavier then their turret making a more reasonable minimum weight of 3200 tons the germans just preferred "perfect number" like 100 or 1000 same thing happen with the maus the blueprints stated 100 tons tank came out as 188 tons

283mm the guns were taken rigth of Gneisenau wich had a main battery of 3x3 283mm/54L but the middle gun would be removed for the Ratte. the gun caliber was mesured using cm but the mm caliber was 283.

Here a tip for the turret, I believe it was based off the Scharnhorst class battlecruisers main guns (same caliber as well)

Thegermans actually classified the sharnhorst class as heavy crusers but what ever frantics a German late ww2 engineer

The Deutschland class "pocket Battleships" were actually heavy cruisers. The Germans classed the Scharnhorst class actually as battleships. They certainly had battleship armour and were designed to be upgunned to 6 15″ guns in 3 turrets (Bismark had 8 15″ guns in 4 turrets). This upgrade was never done. Like the Hood of the RN (when new) they had the speed of a battlecruiser, however. And like the Hood there remains controversy as to whether they should have been classed as battleships or (perhaps super) battlecruisers.

Funniest think about people going "The Ratte could beat the allies if it never got stuck" is that the Ratte is just one masssive bomb target for B-17s to disable. There is a way for the crew to get in, so that means infantry could also get in through blasting charges on the doors once it couldn't move.

The real PATTE 1000. LANDKREUSER weights 1880 tons and have 4 turrets at the rear 2 maus turrets and 2 anti air gun turrets at the middle

I would love to see this game add aircraft (just as enemy AI, without any "plane building") so that they become a factor you need to consider in tank design, naturally then the game would allow you to use co-axial and roof-mounted machineguns, as well as adding a slew of new AA gun options. I mean heck, with how in-depth the simulation is (and how much more in-depth it will become in the update with the geometric internals stuff) hamish could even make it so your camouflage pattern affects aircraft's ability to spot you.

Off top of my head I think its 283mm guns I think it was the same guns on the Scharnhorst they had plans on putting 380 mm guns on it and wanted to reuse its old guns on something else

The ratte is pronounced "ra-ta" and never was brought to a battle because it was still in development. The maus was the ratte's younger brother basically. Also frantic unless its a really old vid or a private vid I can't find the mortar tank.

To pull points together more easily, you might want to hit merge under points. Also, with these larger tanks, you might want to add aa browning m2s on top. Edit: The Ratte was so powerful my browser crashed.
