How much was that 4-inch drive shaft that you put in the demon? I have a Scat Pack with a 309 rear diff and I've already broke two or three driveshafts because they're all two piece so it definitely needs a one piece driveshaft and I just can't seem to find one that fits and affordable. It's tricky because i swapped it all to a 2013 charger

You need a new sticky tire to help with wheel spin, and perhaps some suspension changes to help transfer the weight to the back wheels. All in all, you have done a great job saving a totaled car from the grave.

Reminds me a bit of a hopped up El Camino from another channel... All sound advice you gave, all I can add is to try relocating things towards the rear and the obvious: get bigger tires. Also, wouldn't a functional wing in the back create some downforce if setup correctly? That alone could make a noticeable difference.

Great video. Nice work. The Drag Radial is meant for an Auto. A slick would hook much better and the sidewall will wrinkle on a slick better, absorbing the hit and it will be less likely to snap axles and the driveshaft.
@ashleyarmstrong476 ай бұрын
And this is why they were only fitted with an auto trans. The autos in these cars can be programmed to launch the same every time with the least damage on the drivetrain. This is particularly important with applications with hard launches like in a factory drag car.

Well the first an most important part is he upgraded the engine but never upgraded the drive train and axles. You can't just do one and not the other. It works just fine for the stock engine but he's given it a lot more power so it's out of the "intended" power it had to handle.

@@seemssafe2995 They didn't cheap out, it's engineered to meet the power of the stock engine plus some (as they offer an upgrade package that they'll even warranty). Over engineering it would mean they would have to pass the cost on to the buyer and make it more expensive.

One of the big things I’ve learned from tuning high horsepower engines like that you have to trick them to make them think that wide open throttle is sometimes as low as actually 5%. Then as your RPMs come up, you slowly bring your throttle percentage until it matches at a point where it’s not gonna shred the tires. From what I’ve seen with hellcats that’s usually around four grand before they can handle all the power. with all that extra power, you’re probably looking somewhere around five or 5500 before those tires and that chassis can handle 100%.

I DARE YOU to swap out mufflers for a pair of 3" cherry bomb vortex mufflers. No, not the red glass pack they are known for. The vortex. You will LOVE how they sound. Trust. And they're cheap. They flow more than typical cylinder style mufflers, closer to straight pipe but obviously doesnt beat straight pipe.... But you retain less volume in terms of sound. And the tone is times to drop an octive or two. My 05 sti with the vortex muffler sounded silky smooth. Quiet at idle and decent volume at full throttle. And the tone, dear god it was pure ear orgasm.
