Gas powered bike seems to be the best way for me to do 50km commute. Not many electrics can handle that daily grind for long.

Sayin it's not efficient is completely wrong, I regularly get 100 miles per gallon. Sometimes more when I'm not killing it. The average car gets 20 per. Even a hybrid only gets 50-60 per, so these bike are very fuel efficient.

I get amazing Smiles per Mile ☺ and unbelievable miles per gallon. I have a torque sensor built into the engine for actual peddle assist. If fixing a flat tire is working on your bike then that's what my build is like. Rode it across America this year Florida to California and back same rear tire . Never even oiled the chain . All parts and pieces are in a store near you including small towns. No moving parts to break down and enough power to go over the Rockies with my 225 pound but on it and gear . I averaged 140 miles to the gallon no peddling over 4500 miles . Did i mention it works on any bike with a seat post no chain required 🤔 i know you want believe it but quite to .

Thanks for this cool video, Danny, it's very well done. Your bicycle is great. In my town there are a few of them and they have the same engine you put in yours, they come from China and are quite good. You can enjoy it for a long time. Only take care when you ride in the woods, not too fast, then it's dangerous to run off control and hit against a tree. Maybe it would be a good idea to wear a helm and some protection for your knees and elbows. I am a subscriber of your channel, so let's wait for some more adventures with motorized stuff. Greetings from Santa Catarina State, Southern Brazil.

I have built e-bike kits as well as gas bike kits, even combined the two. I would not call the e-bike "cheaper" on any single day, simply because of the excessive cost! I could build 3 gas bikes for the price of one electric bike. Having said all this, I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND that you put that electric front hub on the gas bike. Check out my "Mk5 Hybrid" playlist on my channel to see what I mean 😁
@dannykime4415
@dannykime4415 Жыл бұрын
Oh totally! In my opinion, electric bikes are cheaper in the long run since charging is virtually free and maintenance is minimal. But gas bikes are cheaper initially but you have to pay for gas and oil, not to mention things break eventually. My dad and I have talked about making a hybrid bike and it sounds very intuitive!

I just finished my first one. I collect pre war bikes, and had an old Indian frame and fork laying around. Fabbed up some engine mounts, gas tank and some other stuff and now I have an Indian board tracker. I used a 4 stroke. The two things people should trash before they even open the box is the chain tensioner and rag joint. The rag joint can be replaced with a rear hub adapter. For a chain tensioner, I welded a Chevy alternator bracket between the seat stay and chain stay. They’re a blast to ride! I went through a few rear sprocket sizes before I found the right size, which is a 36t. I ride mine to work every day. Great fun, very fuel efficient….just cool.

I've built many, my only advice is if you plan to keep the fenders then reinforce them. They aren't made to handle the vibrations of the motor and the bumps at speed. They will fail, and they have killed people. I was one of the lucky ones to have survived the fender bite. Broke my collar bone and had I not been wearing a helmet (which split on impact) then I'd most certainly be dead. Stay safe everyone.

Gee, really? I tend to engine brake a lot but now I could see how forcing the engine to slow down and giving it less fuel could be bad.
@OddBallPerformance
@OddBallPerformance Жыл бұрын
Fuel efficiency depends on a few factors but overall they aren't too bad for what they are. A typical motorized bike should see around 80-100mpg. Carbureted 2 strokes are probably the least efficient type of internal combustion engine out there so it's all a "grain of salt" deal. Properly ported and tuned though and they also make a lot more power for a given displacement than a 4 stroke. Want good MPG get a 4 stroke bike kit.
