Hi everyone! I've built this motorized gatling gun model, for the next scratchbuild project (Enemy's Combat Robot). This is my first time trying to make something with electric motors and moving parts and it was so much fun, that I already can think of other crazy ideas to try. Of course, 3D printing is very helpful to do that.

It's an awesome looking model. Like something that should be on a Terminator Hunter Killer. I would replace the gears for an o-ring and pulleys to get rid of the tinny sound of the gears. Add a sound chip, leds in the barrels and a smoke generator for the leds to flash off of. Also think about a rod and couple bearings to support the barrels better.

One of the coolest pieces you’ve done. Maybe some grease to make the gears quiet. But you’ve probably already came up with some other method better than lubrication 😂

Think the Motor and Ammo drum should be switched around. Gatlings eat ammo and the current ammo drum is tiny compared to the Motor / feeding unit. BUT! Damn noice

you are the best modeler on internet... i got an idea... why dont you scan piece by piece your models and sell us your models to 3d print... but... a reasonable price sold 3d models are so expensive.... (i saw that you sold some 3d parts you made... i would like to by them... but your robots are just grate!

You missed a great opportunity! Cut a bunch of brass tube, put them inside of a compartment on the gun body, then when the barrels spin have the brass tubes eject like spent casings. :P Well done, though.

Something needs to be done to the ends of the barrels. As is, it's easy to tell the barrels are thin walled tubes. With some type of an insert you can make the ends of the barrels look like real thick walled rifle barrels with proper crowned ends.

Very cool man!!! Although it could be even cooler with a bit more electronics going on. If you want to add more movement to the final model you could add a 'Beam Bicore Headbot' to the waist. Just use a motor / gearbox with a high ratio to make the turning side to side quite slow (you can also tune the movement by using ceramic capacitors with different values. The higher the value of pico Farads the less it would sway back and forth (I think that's right / might be the other way around). Also a few LEDs or flashing LEDs would add even more of a cool factor to something that is already pretty damn cool. Edit: once I've finished my current ongoing projects I might try to build something similar. You've Inspired me!!!

Seriously cool man, this needs to go onto a tank like platform as the enemy to the Robot you've built, Or it would even be cooler if you could duplicate this gatling gun and put them on another robot in place of its hands, oh yeah! perhaps add a multi tube missile launcher on the current robot that way you can make a diorama that would make any Mecha game programers jealous! LOL well done dude, keep up the great work!

I see the ammo drum and the belt but how does it get to the gun? Your work is far superior to my own no question but the first gun you made for this project it follows the premise of real world design for a gatling gun.

Its a great work but as a learned industrial mechanic have tried to print the gear not like this in the straight form, what is much easier to make and like in RL are much cheaper in cost. But like you heard it even so much louder against not stright one can you maybe print in a curved form the gears, that the contact beetwen both are much more smoother to grip in each other. And so they are in the steel variants are much more quiter as straight ones.

Actually Rhys, just fyi is normally Said like "Reese" LIke Rees's Peanutbutter Cups", Normally anyways. It is not a normal Name by any means even here in the US, so I cant fault you for that, it is a real British name, which I find cool AF. I only know this cause of, sadly, Torchwood Series, and a few other British TV series I watch. Dont worry it is prob first time you ever seen it like that....first time I said it that way too when i say it spelled out. Over all Dang good build thank you for working it out the way you did and almost a tutorial I love it, keep it up!

Love the shape language but I feel like ammo box is too smol for barrel size? Especially for a Gatling gun. And how would the ammo feed into the gun? Only poking holes cos I love
@MasterRick01

I only see One problem and Is the Chain... Is goes from nowhere to nowhere, the Chain must goes from the magazine yo the gun, not from a tiny barrel to a wrong part of another barrel that Is not in the main gun... Also... You can make bullets with toothsticks and Golden paper for gifts to add in the Chain because... A Chain gun (minugun or totative cannon gun) needs a Chain of bullets yo Work.
