Firing against the direction of travel will make your orbit smaler, hence youll be able to land. The most efficient time to do that would be when you are closest to the moon

Everything in the game is not automatic. By pressing SAS target and just activating thrusters you wont crash on the moon. But when you get close to the moon you can use the other options of your SAS, you've got period, antiperiod and four other, these correspond to directions and they're represented on the gyroball on the bottom middle of the screen. If you click the button you want and activate RCS the rocket will automaticly orientate in this direction so you just need to aim at the moon and fully activate thrusters and ram the moon at full speed

I see that Blitz has ignored my advice, so I will give more advice this time on plane design: Firstly, the symmetry mode in the Space Plane Hangar is different than that of the rockets, fo planes, Mirror symmetry works best, also, don't try to put each part non symmetrically if you are a beginner, as it will cause complications. As for how to make a plane take off well, you need to check the Center of Mass and lift, to show them, click on the buttons above the symmetry button(also you can press X for faster increasing of the symmetry number)the yellow one is mass, the blue one is lift, and the purple one is thrust. For an agile plane, you need to make it so that the Center of Lift is closely behind the Center of Mass. Also, press T for SAS to make the plane and or rocket more stable in flight. Also add fins and or wings SYMMETRICALY so that the rocket is more stable.Hope this helps :)

Blitz, once you have a lunar encounter that line your craft is following shows your trajectory, in order to slow to lunar orbital velocity you must wait till you reach your lunar periapsis (lowest point of your trajectory in relation to the planet your are in the Sphere of influence of) , marked in the game as pe, once you're there burn retrograde (away from where you are going) till you see your trajectory line form a ring around the moon meaning you are in orbit, from there you can keep burning retrograde to lower your periapsis so you hit the moon.

just wanna let you know- to orbit did you see the blue line on the map? yea you have to get that to circle around kerbin (earth in ksp) by going 90 degrees and pointing your rocket towards your apoapsis (highest point in orbit). to go to the mun, (moon in ksp) you expand your orbit by speeding it up and then it will reach the mun. once you are in the mun's sphere of influence, slow down by going in opposite direction of orbit.

- the hexagon by the symmetry button thing is the snap toggle - pressing r changes symmetry mode - you can use wasd as well as qe to rotate parts - the buttons above the symmetry button show your center of mass, thrust, and lift respectively those 7 years of playing ksp finally paid off

I would suggest using some reaction wheels or an engine with better gimbal. I noticed you were using the rapier engine for vacuum flight, the rapier is an atmospheric engine. I would use something like the poodle for close vacuum flight (mün or minimus) or nerve engine for long haul missions (everything out side of kerbian). Also try using the Kerbal engineer read outs, it is an amazing mod for both new and experience plays!

13:15 It's not "rocket control assist", it's "reaction control system". It makes RCS thrusters work, which are thrusters that help with turning also i'm impressed that you managed to actually go to the moon with that thing lol Some tips: Get into orbit first, then right click to make a maneuver node and just drag the prograde marker on the navball (the yellow one with spikes on it) until you get an encounter with the Mun (if you don't get one, drag the maneuver node somewhere else on the orbit) then just set your ship so it points towards the maneuver (the dark blue one), and just wait until the maneuver node is in 10 seconds or so, then just run your engines until the amount you need to thrust is about 0 then when you're at your Mun periapsis (the point where you're closest), just thrust retrograde on the navball (towards the yellow circle with spikes going inwards) until you're in an orbit

14:04 you should have slowed your x-wing down at the mun periapsis so the mun can catch your rocket also don't use solid rocket booster because you cannot stop the engine and control the power so they are bad for going to the mun you should have used liquid propelled engine because they are better also make sure your liquid fuel tank have oxidizer or your liquid propelled engine won't turn on also make sure you have enough delta v to go to the mun and back also make sure you center of thrust is align to the center of weight to the rocket will go straight and won't spin

Baron, one thing I would recommend is using liquid fuel boosters because they can be toggled on and off, you will need to set one of your fuel tanks as a oxidizer to use them though.

Tips: 1. If you are going so fast that you are going to escape the target orbit, you need to slow down by trusting in the opposite direction to where you are moving and NOT toward the target. 2. Do the tutorials, they are short and they will make your KSP videos much less painful to watch.

Blitz, try to mess around with maneuver nodes just click on your trajectory and use the tools to mark a coarse and then change your sas to maneuver then follow the instructions that are located just to the right of your navball

Oh hey you actually did pretty good 👍! You actually have enough fuel to get an interception (potential crash landing) When you want to get into orbit around a planetary body, you usually have to burn in reverse, so face the craft at the way you came from. Get the line as close as you can leaving kerbin, wait until the orange line turns blue then reverse burn (retrograde, there's a toggle option for this but you need it off for forward flight). If you can recreate your last few attempts, this should help you, crash into the moon. I don't think you have enough fuel or thrust to slow down to land but you could always try hopping out at the last moment. Sometimes they bounce instead XD.

Also to reach orbit you got to be going fast enough or slow enough to keep orbit The reason you you kept flying out of Kerbin and the moon and into deep space was because you reached escape velocity To reach orbit around a planet or moon you have to slow down enough to be captured by it So instead of boosting towards the moon when your on a fly by trajectory you have to slow down when your closest to it then you’ll be in orbit

To get into orbit around the Mun, don't point at it and fire the engines, burn retrograde (the opposite to your direction of travel) at the periapsis (closest point to the Mun along your current path)

If you see a mun encounter, when you get close, turn away from the mun and fire your rocket engines to slow yourself down and you will see a circle appear around the mun meaning you've been captured by the muns gravity and it will let your orbit it

you shod release the SRB's/boosters before it runs out of fuel to avoid the boosters from colliding with the rocket body. you shod also tilt the rocket a little and stop the engines then turn them on Again. slowdown to lower orbit if not in orbit and stil in a parabolic orbit speed up to go higher but sideways. you go sideways because the earth is round and it's easier. also if the rocket is to heavy you need more fuel but to cary that fuel you need more SR boosters but it gets heavy so you need more fuel but to cary that fuel you need more SR boosters but it gets heavy so you need more fuel but to cary that fuel you need more SR boosters but it gets... so don't make your rocket to heavy.

Tip the symbols on the fake horizon match the ones when u press sas and when u press the buttons it will auto face the markers on the fake horizon so if u go retrograde it will slow u down so u can orbitnthe moon basicly when u where very close you just had to press the retrograde symbol and full thrust and u will get into moon orbit also the reason the liquid fuel stage cut off when in space is because you where using a space PLANE fuel tanks which only have liquid fuel no oxidizer which the thrusters u where using needs in space unless you use nuclear thruster which only uses liquid fuel and is very efficient in space but is only usefully past safe earth orbit the only other thrusters that only use liquid fuel and no oxidizer is jets but jets need air and in my experience rapiers have air mode and space mode it is automatically set to switch but when you switch to space mode it will need oxidizer

You my friend need to learn how to do a gravity turn, learn basic OFM (orbital flight mechanics), learn how to use the manoeuvre system, design a functional spaceplane, and how to turn on the centre of mass, lift and thrust indicators for Advanced analysis. Not saying ur bad at the game but you need a bit of work, also I’d recommend 2 veery good qol mods 1. Mech-jeb: provides some automation for your crafts (eg; numerous autopilots) I could teach you the way of OFM ( a topic I know quite well in game and irl) and basic design for more advanced rockets 2. Tweekscale: allows you to upside and down sise parts, by default the max radius is 20m and the shortest is something like 0.06m (be warned the physics engine doesn’t tend to like upscaled parts in that your rocket will become a very bendy boi) I could teach you the basics for orbital flight and the gravity turn if need be lol but I’d recommend asking much more professional players such as scot manly or may lowen, or maybe stratzenblitz

Blitz, see those rudders?(the things that move the plane up and down)they are going up. The air hits it and bounces up from that. Like a rocket, the airgoes up, the plane goes DOWN. Now With that smooth brain, i don't know how you figured out how to build a sucsessful rocket withot the TUTORIALS built into the game. Evey new game i explore what there is, even in the menu. Now the tutorial is very easy to find. Go find it and maybe you can make a good video with the other videos as a before doing tutorals and the new video after.
