Beautiful Bench for a resting or picnic spot. I can imagine one day a forrest filled with chainsaw animal sculptures. On your cross country ski trails and mountain bike trails these sculptures as trailheads. What a life you carved out for yourselves.

A nice primitive bench in the middle of nowhere is definitely what the world needs more of. I like the longer bar on the saw too As you've mentioned before, stay alert with your overhand and you'll do okay with it. ​@@michygoss7148 It WAS..... a beautiful tree which died during the crazy deep freeze last year. Really made me sad since it was about 80' tall and perfectly shaped. So nice so that I even built my circular driveway around it. So now I have a 14' x 2.5' diameter trunk waiting to be sawed up. I was thinking of making some solid wood doors and maybe a table out of it. If you were closer I would beg you to cut it for me! Stay warm.

That second cut was the trick! Add the jointing angle x2 and that’s the overall angle I think. Now you got in my head. Looks like maybe a 38 degree angle for around a 75 degree back? But that’s a perfect angle for Steve probably from a fellow dude with a bad back.

Ya I actually have no idea what the angels are, but it is actually quite comfortable. You’re lounging more rather than upright, but I like it that way!

Having long since passed the upper limit of my youth and now find myself a septuagenarian, you never fail to make me smile. You can be a bit silly. I like that! Though I can still hold my own with a chainsaw and operate a mill, your antics bring back a lot of memories of myself learning, experimenting, and taking command of my environment. I will offer a little "heads up" when it comes to safety. In my decades of experience, I have found the greatest hazard in my work has been gravity! ;)

You're a hoot. I like the bench design but like you said, might be too close to the ground for someone with longer legs. All you need to do is cut another log in half and put each half under the bottom logs (flat side down) and then bolt them together. Happy holidays!
