If you swap out the rear bogey on the locomotive for one of the triple ones, you essentially have a shortened and painted version of an American-made Shay geared logging locomotive. Their special quirk is that they use gears and axles instead of pistons and rods to transfer the engine power to the wheels, enabling them to climb slopes under load that most other engines couldn't even dream of. You could almost call them the steam equivalent to diesels for this reason, but with even more torque. About 5 of them live at the Cass Scenic Railroad in West Virginia to this day, where they are shown off yearly as a group.

Train name time: Ol' Steamer. It's simple and even a reference! It's a reference to Mario Party 2. On the Western Land Board of the game there is a sentient train named Steamer who will go along the tracks of the board. This board recently got a remaster in Mario Party Jamboree as did Steamer! He sports the EXACT same colors as your train, being a Green and Black locomotive with Red passenger cars. Steamer also moves people around the board to get to where they need to go, just like your train would take them to and from the park. Plus, y'know, it's a STEAM train. And Ol' Steamer just sounds so inviting! "All aboard Ol' Steamer!!!" Fun and Whimsical! It's a bit of an obscure reference, but a fitting one nonetheless

Hey Mr. Beardstone, I believe adding passengers to the log flume and having people on the paths would greatly enhance the park's atmosphere. It's essential to implement a bus or tram for elderly visitors and those with disabilities, as the current train station isn't wheelchair accessible. Creating overall and specific maps for the park would improve navigation and would add decoration. Additionally, installing trash bins, ATMs, and bathrooms would enhance the realism of your park. You should also consider barracks for staff in the future. Lastly, a horror section in the Nether, featuring lava, blaze, wither skeleton, hoglin, and gold farms, could attract a diverse crowd and provide a thrilling experience!

@darkstone_official_2427Ай бұрын
Not that it matters really, but Tenders don't have buffers or a knuckle usually to connect to the engine. In most media I've seen and in real life it's usually some form of draw bar that's just linking the two together to provide a closer connection. I usually use the copycat steps or some form of quarter block similar to them to make a half block gap between the loco and tender to give it a more realistic appearance. Bonus points if you glue the engine in parts and not all at once and add some form of board that goes over the small gap to allow smooth passage. The gap would still be there, visible from the side, but covered on top. Also, genius use of the mechanical piston to basically use a poor man's world edit. I completely forgot that was a thing because the piston push limit is absurd with those things. I was gonna suggest using world edit to copy-paste the structure, but I just completely forgot that the pistons could do stuff like that. Literally moving mountains.
@slidingarchitectureАй бұрын
Love the train. That green and red colour combo is so satisfying, but my favourite bit of the episode has to be moving that massive chunk of land with a piston. Create is ridiculous sometimes but amazing
@carracerv1522Ай бұрын
I think what you cold do for the train station (looking at it from the entrance) is: extend the tracks over a small bridge. That would give you a reason to continue the station without too much extra work, and open an opportunity for a river or obstacle for the bridge to go over. Finally, that would play into the rule of thirds from the entrance perspective. That contrast from slope on the left and bridge in the right would add some nice intrigue and character.

for the big bridge you could always build up a small island or land mass in the middle point of the two islands and have two identical bridges connect to it from either side to make the the cross connection a little less comically large. could even put a little water tower in the center two.
@bow-tiedengineer4453Ай бұрын
The train was honestly pretty great before you removed the wheel set. As someone who likes making trains with more than two, you can actually make it work. You need to make sure one of your bogies is glued to a block, but isn't attacted to the rest of the locomotive. This would actually be really easy to do with the bogie under the cab, because you already have a floor over it to hide the shenanigans. You just need to carefully do the glueing so that the bogie is glued to that industrial iron block behind it and nothing else, and every other block is glued together and to the two driving wheels at the front. That will also make the wheels act more realistically, with the trailing truck sliding beneath the locomotive, and the locomotive pivoting around it's fixed wheel base.

@SteamLanceАй бұрын
You probably don't need to extend the platforms, as long as the coaches fit in then having the loco in the platform doesn't matter. Sometimes long trains would have to stop twice at the same platform anyway
@dragonbornexpress5650Ай бұрын
Just as a heads up, Beardstone, but I think it'd make sense for the railroad to have a repair shop either in the park itself or on the way to the industrial island. (Which would allow the perfect opportunity to play around with more Create stuff, to boot.) Details like these go a long way into making a piece of infrastructure like a railroad feel real, which also enhances atmosphere.

I think you could use "Create: Pattern Schematics" to build the bridge. You just need to build one segment, and the contraption will replicate it along the entire length of the bridge. It’ll make your work easier, and luckily, the bridge doesn’t have any curves, so it should be a straightforward task.

For the name of the train, how about "The Green Lancer"? It has a classic, regal feel that suits the vintage charm of a steam train and the green and black colour scheme. The "Lancer" also evokes a sense of strength and speed, perfect for a theme park attraction! Alternatively, "The Maroon Marauder" could work well, with a nod to the mangrove carriages and an adventurous vibe.
