I Built a Vertical Wall Climbing Skyscraper Track!

Here's an idea... A speedcheck map. A track where every jump you do has to be above (or below ;) ) a certain speed. If you don't have the speed, kaboom! Should play well into your love of FS tracks in TM.

Sounds like "Chroma's Hell" Track on Track Mania ^^ if you're not driving basically perfectly and having max speed, you won't make the "jumps" anymore and crash.

@@Pedistrarian You could do an upper/lower track layout - if you keep your speed up you get the upper (shorter) track, if not you get the lower track. As long as they're near each other where you put checkpoints, it won't be an issue. Or you could do it without checkpoints, but that invites people trying to cheat the ending - unless that's the point of the track.

Maybe Warcans can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he got such a fast time by tapping brake right at the top of the building so he didn't get air. I noticed you'd be green going up the face, but the more speed you carried to the roof, the slower you were hitting the first checkpoint on the far side.

That's probably part of it, a lot of people don't think about small adjustments like that.

Well you couldn't brake too much because 1. there were fans pulling you towards the building if you got too close to it and 2. the finish is quite far

@@j_ordinary4252 I think they meant the initial pass over the roof. There's fans pulling you horizontally towards the center of the roof (The ones he puts down at 1:49). The slower you cross vertically through their area of effect, the longer you stay in their horizontal suck and the more you get accelerated over the roof. Same for the 4 fans at 4:10. Those might also be the trick to falling down to the finish faster - if you don't take the center fifth of that final down ramp, but still line yourself up straight.

They could be. I did see one of the A tracks in the preview window as kAN was scrolling through his saves to put his track into the playlist, and it was just a bunch of trees spammed everywhere. So Idk

Because every workshop item Dapper uploaded (except three of them) is called "A" or "a" or "aa". Probably because it's alphabetically sorted in-game, but it is kinda annoying.

Ideas: Zig-Zag, Back-And-Forth, "Now Do This Again 100 Times", "Oh, I forgot about that", and "Under 10 Seconds". For the "Under 10 Seconds", you could do a long course (i.e. 40-50 seconds runs) with an uphill start, with the secret being breaking so you go back, where a "shredder" (group of fans) destroy your vehicle, but after your character falls, a hidden fan pushes it to the finish line.

13:30 if you brake at the last jump just enough, you fall a shorter distance, resulting in a faster time (because you have less distance laterally while the vertical distance stays the same)

Would probably make more time by giving it a gentle brake right at the first time cresting the top of the building. Resulting in less time wasted in the air and more time being pulled forward by the fan and getting you to the other side faster

You should do a maze theme, where your tracks are mazes. I think you’d need some limitations like “you can’t have more than X amount of wrong paths” so that it can be possible in a lobby.

Well, photo mode will make cheating easy. But you can make a track that has you choose between real and fake checkpoints. Or between paths without boosters and with hidden boosters.

kan at the first part when ur going up, instead of flying over then landing on the building, try to like drive diagonally to have more grip on the ground and momentum instead of just flying up and stalling then landing back down

TRACK IDEA: a track w/o the track. and just let everyone interpret that however they want. maybe for some it means all in the air, for others maybe it just means it's a wide open area, or possibly something entirely different.

I like it. Just put a bunch of waypoints down on random obstacles and keep the rest of the map completely open with some boosters here and there. Let people find their best lines to catch all waypoints themselves :D

try a dyson sphere ... as in race completely on the inside surface of a giant ball, add a large core which takes away the sight of the comming track as you always will race in an upwards curve no matter which direction the track goes. the closer the core surface comes to the spheres inner surface the shorter the viewrange

here's an idea for a chalenge: each one of you guys will make a drift track and here's how you do it: each curve in your track must be ice to drift on. and you must make the curve bigger to give you and the other players enought space to drift you can do a lot of things with this idea like a jump into a drift curve or you need to drift in a circle to get the checkpoint i hope this is a good idea

Track idea you you each design 3 sections of track and then you merge toeach other so Kan starts Dapper middle Kosmo third on one track then Dapper start, Kosmo Middle and Kan finish. Honestly I think you do have to brake. There's clearly an optimum speed for making the first transition to the top of the building. Getting green all the way up, transition too fast, massive time loss. Gotta get your greens on the climb then brake for the transition and take the rest of the track at the same lower speed of the previous best run. Even if you don't make time on the second half you keep the time you made in the beginning.

Not sure but coming over that first crest with too much speed might be what slows you down. You have too much vertical speed and you spend more time going up in the air and less time being pulled by that horizontal fan. You also lose energy from a rough landing.
