in my country you cant get hardwood legally. not in any quantities to run a commercial business. you also cant import suspiciously felled hardwood. if you declare the fingerboard wood correctly, your new guitar will be impounded. enjoy this while it lasts, the logging industry cut too many corners (pun intended)! and now we are all punished for throwing away perfectly good 'out of fashion' timber items that we will never see made again. BTW I see in these build on various channels timber native to my country that I cant legally get. I wonder 'how did they get that?' ahem, yes.

I love everything about this! If people wonder why it takes so long to make a guitar, you've only shown a fraction of every step, and left out the more tedious steps and all the utility jobs. It can take all afternoon to do any of those individual steps, and then the trick is not to rush it when you're tired. You must really love this work.

With *sharp* tools and the right technique you don't have to apply huge pressure, so it shouldn't injure your hands. You could try a short (or long) course at Crimson Guitars. Cheers from the other end of the world 🙂

I learned more genuinely new methods, and ideas for my next guitar build in this single video that any others I have seen. That drill/planer idea is genius! And I love the idea of the ebony strip to line the inner edge of a cavity. Plus those bending bow "clamps".... probably age old methods, but I have never seen them. I have also been delaying improving my first build, a solid body telecaster, that i chose to not put belly/arm comfort cuts on. I regret not doing that, and didn't like the idea sawing/filing those down. But hand carving, and leaving the gouges in the comfort areas alone would be a great visual standout, that my design was lacking. Thanks for that idea also!!!
