Im suprised no one is commenting on the solar panels... That 2x4 isn't going to hold those panels when it gets windy. It was flopping around when you were installing the panels. You need to mount the brace to multiple beams under the sheet metal. You can prevent the roof from leaking by drilling a pilot hole, filling it with silicone, applying silicone to the screw, then screwing everything in.

On the corrugated roof sheets you need to nail or screw on the top part of the wavy corrugated, you did it on the lower part, where the water flows. Thats how roof leaks.

Gospel of Jesus Christ John 3:16 For God So loved the world that he gave his only Begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not Perish but have Everlasting Life. Jesus Christ Died for the sin of the World, If you believe in ur heart God risen Jesus from the dead and confess him with ur mouth to people you shall be saved. Jesus said I Am The only way to heaven there is no other way! Repent of urs sins (Repent means Change ur Mind turning away from sinful things and being truly sorry for it.) trust Jesus and give ur life to him He Loves you cares about you more than anyone ever will! we are saved By Grace Trough Faith!,this is sin: Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death but the gift of eternal life in our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 3:23 For all have sined and felt short of the Glory of God. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Romans 1:18-21, 23 KJV Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 REPENT OR YOU WILL PERISH REPENT AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL GET RIGHT WITH GOD LORD JESUS CHRIST.

The cabin looks great, what a fun build! A couple things that worry me a little however... 1.) No housewrap. That's going to potentially mean moisture problems. 2.) No horizonal running OSB beneath the vertical siding. I'm sure this won't cause issues, however the nice thing about running OSB horizonally beneath your siding is that it firmly locks your walls into place. Without it, you do lack a certain amount of horizonal strength, which may be more noticeable on the 2x4 walls. 3.) Single pane windows. Depending on your climate this may not be an issue either...but I live in an area that can reach triple digits during the summer and -30 during the winter, double pane windows are a must.

Since there will probably be a next time, if you're only going to use 1" foam anyway, you can put it on top of the sub floor, that way you don't have any breaks in it or have to worry about animals getting to it. As long as it's high density it will support a click laminate or you can put another sheet of 1/2" over top. Just build your door(s) frame with the extra floor thickness in mind.

This was very well presented. I think they will enjoy the cabin in the woods. I have over 4000 watts of solar on my home and it runs the refrigerator for 5 months now, no house power. I will have 2 more batteries coming in and a more powerful inverter to also run the freezer.

Does the creek lead into a larger body of water? Or lead off of your property? Did you guys look into how your dam/blockage will affect wildlife? This is definitely cool, but seems weird to mess with a natural water source.
@adrianweldon42187 ай бұрын

@maxzeyyy7 ай бұрын
exactly
@kellyjaneisthename7 ай бұрын
@@adrianweldon4218 I don't think he said it goes back into the creek directly, but just straight down onto the ground. But, obviously, it could run-off into the creek since it's so close. Not to mention how it could affect the soil and even the foundation of the home itself. I know they said they wouldn't be using the sink much, but then that just means creating a dam makes even less sense. They could have just set up a small tank they'd rarely have to fill, or even just carry in one of those gerry cans that van-lifers use whenever they go to the property.
@phillippia6 ай бұрын
And to have sink water (and soaps, beer,food, etc used there) drain directly back into the creek. Not environmentally responsible at all. I figured the concrete mixed directly in the creek probably took out immediate wildlife already…so maybe it doesn’t matter at this point. Pumps can work in just a few inches of water. Seems like burying a bucket/ container partially at the bottom of the creek bed ( since they say it runs year round) would have done the job just as well and would have been far easier to remove later on.
@rjtheoret6 ай бұрын
It's not a good idea. Depending on their state and/or county, it is more than likely illegal.
@PlumBuilds7 ай бұрын
I love the build, but as a builder myself, I see some issues...you should have dropped the floor joists of the deck below the joists in the cabin. This is a recipe for disaster if the deck gets any water...it will infiltrate under the bottom plate as it's at the same level as the exterior deck. And the joists in the loft are too small. 2x6 minimum would be best.

Nice build. Only advice I've got... Water seeks the lowest point. You need diversion ditches on that hillside to push water away from the house area or that rock is going into the creek. They do make a glue for gravel that will help keep it in place but it may not be a wise idea nest to the water you're pulling from the dammed area. Nice job.

Questions for the experts of youtube! Will those foundation posts support the weight of the cabin over time? Or will it sag into ground making everything slightly slanted? Compared to a concrete slab (obviously way more costly). Love the build and it seems like a simple solution.
@Dickfuckgoogle2 ай бұрын
It'll definitely sink. Frost heave will have its way with it, not to mention the proximity to that creek. Did you see how wet that ground was? It never dries out, only gets wetter. Hello just great, the house is just great, really great and has everything you need.. Maybe you could just make a slatted frame as big as the mattress(es) and then just have slats so that the mattresses can air out. Experience worth it :)) and a small railing at the top is simply safer if you close yourself while sleeping turns far, etc., where the ladder is, you can leave it free, simply made of wood with slats and it doesn't have to be very high either.

Look into S5! Metal roof clamps for corrugated metal. Iron ridge rails & bam you can fit a lot more solar panels on that roof. EG4 batteries.

I see constructive criticism. Haters can hate but I love their willingness to learn as they go.

You lost me with the big TV and couch at the end. Isn't the point of a cabin to get away and experience nature? Not watch more netflix lol

God loves us all so much that he gave his perfect son to die for our sins and raised him from the grave to defeat death. Through faith in JESUS we can be saved and reconciled to GOD. please repent🙏♥️

I think you should put rails on the loft so people don’t potentially fall off but other than that I love the cabin, it looks so cozy❤
Should have rails where the bed is❤ 17:36

Have you thought about doing interviews? Also, in terms of content, I recommend keep it diverse. A lot of KZbinrs that I follow cover a wide range of content. I realize that’s a lot of work, but quantity of content gives you some latitude to be creative.
