My aunt in law lives in a small penthouse apartment (She married rich). it does have an outside area and she and they have a hot tub out there. They had to pay for the roof to be reinforced to support it, then they had to pay for the city to close the street so that they could use a crane to get the thing up there. So I'm just imagining all the things Cay had to pay for just to make it compatible with his dad's horse. XD

in my opinion on the "carrying features to different packs" thing I like to look at it this way. We got apartments again in For Rent and in Eco Lifestyle and City Living still is one of, if not the best pack. So that speaks to me how apartments being carried into other packs doesn't matter even in a case where it should being one of the biggest selling points of the pack. City Living is just superior tbh.

♥ ETA: Now that I've had a chance to watch the video, I really like this penthouse, even though my brain keeps worrying about the horse falling off the roof. Luckily, the Sims doesn't operate on real world logic. That aside, I'm super excited for Cay to take the reigns as heir. I'm always extremely fond of the male heirs since we don't see them as often. I also love the idea of Cay (and maybe even Eugene) dating around and then stumbling onto each other's profiles on he new dating app. That story line could not be any cuter.

I feel like the new pack is only going to have one penthouse lot, or at least only one residential penthouse. Something in the pack notes makes it sound like a one and done. I hope they keep looking into new city worlds. At this point a pack with more of the traditional apartments and penthouse lots but without the mandatory lot traits could be really cool. There are all kinds of cities - not all of them are like San Myshuno.

Another way to get the horse to the penthouse is that horses can use the magic teleporters. You put one on your lot and TOOL mod one down on the city ground... The horse can actually leave the penthouse and run free in the city. 😂

Nina totally deserves to have her own child! I only had a robot once, but right after my Sims had unexpected twins, her big 'whim' was to have a child since we'd given her the family-oriented trait. So I let her adopt like a regular human and it worked fine.

I have my main family living on this lot, and I have been STRUGGLING with making it a nice lot. I tried really hard to keep the "shell" of the building, have it match the fake building it sits on top of, but because thay basically traps you in a square, its horrible for making a floor plan. Its even worse because my family also needs a bunch of weird stuff, an indoor grow room, a potions/gemology room, rooms for 5 kids, a gaming/streaming/video production room, juice fizzing, collection room, etc. Ive been considering moving them to a normal lot just so I can get more floors and not feel confined to a style, but it feels in character for a 5 star celebrity social media star to live in the penthouse of a high rise instead of a mansion

I love the idea of Cay having four kids!! Maybe one could be an alien? I dunno, I’d find it really funny if both Cay and Nina had alien kids at the same time. I definitely suggest the On-Ley-Line lot trait for this though, so that you can pass it off as an accident. (Maybe Cay has two kids, and when those kids are teens, he decides to have another, but whoopsie! It’s twins! Something like that.) Also, maybe Nina’s child could be another robot? Ie: she makes a robot herself and that’s her kid.

City Living has the festivals and apartments with specific lot traits that can’t be added elsewhere (without mods/cheats) and is a very dense urban world leaning towards NYC, San Francisco, Tokyo mega city type density and no single family homes. Eco Lifestyle came out a few years later (3ish?) and also had apartments although they felt different in style (walk up bigger apartments but smaller buildings)- but the pack itself wasn’t focused on apartments, and had more a harbor neighborhood in a much less dense although still leaning urban environment with single family homes. It’s now been several years since City Living came out (7ish?) so for them to make another pack that has penthouse lots but is not focused on penthouses/apartments but rather on dating, that just happens to be set in an urban environment (but an older/different style of urban, based on a part of the real world that we haven’t had a pack set in before) makes total sense to me and does not bother me at all. So much of the real world lives in cities, it makes sense to have more than one city inspired world - especially because they are based on very different styles of city- and bringing apartments to eco lifestyle and years later, penthouses (a penthouse? Trailer/blog kind of makes it seem like only 1 lot) to Lovestruck doesn’t really take away all value from city living to me - there are still festivals, unique locked lot traits, careers, San Myshuno unique food stalls, the Central Park lot type (San Myshono’s Park isn’t actually a regular park), the arts center lot type, and karaoke! This is very different than the hot tub debacle, for Perfect Patio - the Hot Tub was the unique gameplay item, and it’s a stuff pack so there isn’t much to the pack outside of that one unique item, plus SimGuruGraham LITERALLY said they wouldn’t be putting a hot tub into a future pack BECAUSE of that (in context some people who didn’t like stuff packs ((at the time a lot of people felt about stuff packs how people feel about kits now)) said they would wait for hot tubs to be in an expansion). When city living came out, the Guru’s said they wouldn’t rule out putting apartments into another world in the future but they wouldn’t be at the center of a pack again. I feel like the length of time in between, the original pack still retaining other unique content, the change in focus (it’s different enough not to feel completely repetitive and fills a niche not touched on by the original), and how common it is throughout the world really play into how I feel about a feature repeating.

I think a fun/unique challenge would be to do an "Every room is a different simmer's Pinterest board" (for the simmers who have Pinterest). You could get some of your simmer friends to send you a screenshot of their Pinterest homepage, spin a wheel to see who gets each room, and base the rooms off of that simmer's Pinterest board. (A James bathroom, a Plumbella kitchen, etc.)
