It’s such a shame that BlueBrixx piece quality isn’t on a par with LEGO! They make some great sets, but the quality of the pieces I find kind of off putting especially as whilst they aren’t quite LEGO prices, they are pretty close!

My biggest issue with those bricks is that those injection marks are so huge and maybe that black looks a bit washed out. The bricks work totally fine but the quality is definitely not on a par with LEGO or Gobricks. Compared to other BlueBrixx sets a price of 6.7 cents per piece is not cheap but I think compared to a typical LEGO movie franchise set with 11 or even 15 cents per piece there is still a huge gap. We can only cross fingers and hope that BlueBrixx' suppliers will improve the quality. I doubt that BlueBrixx will replace their suppliers. For a handful of sets they use Gobricks but I guess this remains the exception.

@@klemmkraft9000 yeah the injection mould points are hard to hide without spending a serious amount on the tooling of the dies. Lego does, but they also use a better quality of ABS and their colour dyes are better. Plus they take a lot of care in sterilising the moulds and material so that there isn’t any foreign material in the mix!

You did not mention this, but the flat pieces seem uneven on the surface. As if the sheen didn't quite take. Or it could just be how it looks on camera. Were you satisfied with those pieces, since most of the exterior is made from them?

They are perfectly flat, but you can see some flow marks from the creation of the piece. Almost all of them have it in a similar way so I think it looks OK.

The pieces are fine, they are completely flat. I guess the "grain" of the flat silver colour in combination with my light might make them look a bit uneven on camera but in reality they create a completely flat and even surface. Of cause these tiles have injection marks, too, but in difference to the used plates and bricks those marks are just points and not holes. Nevertheless when possible I always placed the side with an injection point in such a way that it is not visible once the build is complete. I do the same with LEGO bricks, the Xinbao injection points don't look worse than LEGO's (but their injection holes are terrible).

If I remember correctly they plan to make a Daedalus set if the Prometheus sells well enough. The Daedalus would consist of more pieces and hence be more expensive.

BlueBrixx instructions come without any text, just images. In very few cases when a word or two is needed, then the text is in English and German. But this was not necessary for Stargate sets so far, they come only with images.

Where did you get your printed bricks from?

I contacted the guys from superbrickbrothers.de and asked if they would print the tiles for me. I used a font called Bank Gothic for the text. Sadly my assumption that the set uses 4x4 tiles in light bluish grey was wrong. The set uses panels in flat silver. The LEGO company doesn't produce panels in that colour and I don't want to bother the Super Brick Brothers with sending them Gobricks which I ordered from China. That's why I'm going to use stickers which I ordered from avery-zweckform.com
