This video popped up, so I watched it... sounds perfect! Personally I'd wrap the CF body panels to match, or just wrap the whole car to not worry about keeping the black paint perfect all the time!

I've got about 13500 into my c5 convertible 6 speed including the purchase and many new parts. It is near completely sorted out. Also came with a perfect paint job that doesn't even look like it was repainted. The new parts include Toyo tires, ebc slotted rotors with red stuff pads, new radiator, new battery, new oil pan gasket, new clutch master cylinder, new rocker arms, new oil pressure sensor, HID high and low beams, many other small and cost effective things. Also, changed every single fluid.

beautiful work brother! the exhaust tip hanging on my c6 does the same but its supercharged and the force it generates on corvettes through the exhaust are no joke, breaks any welded hooks from the sheer vibration lol

Is it a Billy Boat exhaust? Their exhaust hangers suck. I had the same issue with a set of Bullets on a '99 silver coupe I used to have. The welds at the hangers broke within 4 years. Like you I "fixed it" three times. Car was modestly modified with headers,Vararam, and 3.90 gear. And I've had Borla Stingers on my black '99 with 640whp/568rwtq coupe for 23 years and they are still perfect. Ditch the exhaust with the sh!t welds. Not worth the annoyance.

Check out the column lock bypass switch. Should fix your pull key and wait 10 sec. Super easy install under dash. Super cheap. I think you can find a plug and play harness version if I remember right. I bought the bypass back In like 2003 so it's been a minute. Still have my C5 though :)

I had a broken rocker arm. I didn't even know it until i replaced the lower oil pan gasket and found a bunch of needle bearings. Im glad that i found all of them. There was absolutely zero valvetrain noise that I noticed.

Love the C5's had a 03 Z06 with a Novi centrifugal on it with a million other mods was alot of fun have a C7 Grand Sport now N/A currently but it's modded well so it still rolls out I estimate it to be close to 500 or more rwhp conservatively

Fyi, get rid of the oiled k&n filter! It flows a ton of dirt! Check out Project Farms air filter test. Install a high flow dry filter and add an oiled foam wrap around it. The depth filtration is effective without restriction.😊

The exhaust hang could be due to the rubber in your exhaust hangers being worn out. If you can find some in decent shape, buy them. If not, buy the inserts from Corvette Clips and modify your existing hangers.

It’s because the hanger that’s actually on my exhaust snapped off at the weld and everything I’ve done to hold it has not worked because it shakes so violently

I have a 2005 sierra4x4 I paid 4800$ and I had to replace everything I have 14k into it only thing that wasn’t replaced is the engine and transmission at this point and my engine is ticking now so … ya . Btw I rebuild my rear end new posi and 373 due to old owner stealing the rear end before selling the truck to me and putting the wrong gears into the truck . Front differential was replaced because I thought it was my issue . Currently lookin at a full rebuild and cam for my truck with install and tune for 4500$

If you mean on the inside, get a spacer. If on the top, raise the car or get new shocks

Really? I've put them on many cars now.. never had an issue even on track days. Maybe you need to put in higher end fluid. Id recommend a full flush with DOT 5 but that does not explain your brake dust.

You can spend money on these. I've probably spent more than 40,000 dollars on mine, light rims, C6z brakes, ultra light racing seats, then Supercharger, stroke LS motor, etc., etc. I never think about what the resale value is because I'm building this for myself. My friend has a Ferrari 812 and a Lamborghini Huracan and they're definitely not faster than my C5, that's nice if anything haha!

I highly highly highly recommend doing heads cam. To prevent a valve from dropping in the future. Very common unfortunately on the LS7

Bet my Model S Plaid would embarrass it. The C5 z06 has such a beautiful timeless design though. I don't have it with a procharger and and for some reason it doesn't require oil changes. has two baby seats in the back and has won three no prep street races against trailered race cars .

It would be close race. The stock c5 z06 takes the nurburgring in 7:56. But since this one has way more power than stock and way more grip it should be low 7's. The model S plaid has ran the nurburgring in 7:25. Pretty crazy a car designed in the 90s with upgrades can take on the fastest cars of the 2020s. And the C5 at half the price of a used plaid.
