It's so disappointing that Chongyun is so forgotten when he was the original Main DPS for National, possible the single most popular team in the game TO HIS DAY, because his high Melt nukes and Cryo Infusion allowed him to rival even Sucrose's VV Shred and Swirl back then.

Definitely go for Yanfei next pleaseee. Yanfei is still my go to pyro DPS and quite literally the reason why I don’t even want Mavuika or Arlecchino. Obviously those two are gonna be stronger since they’re 5 star characters but ever since I got Yanfei, she just carried me through the whole game. Xiao was left gathering dust once Yanfei became my new main in early game lol. She’s just so easy and fun to use, at least for me. And even after going for DPS from other elements that I also like like Ayaka, Alhaitham and Navia, I still go back to Yanfei just for comfort. Getting Furina and Neuvillette’s signature weapon only ever really elevated her damage even more and she doesn’t even need a shielder on her team because she can make her own. She’s also pretty flexible so you won’t have a hard time beating the abyss with her!

I've used Yanfei with Emilee. Em does a lot of damage when things are burning, and Yanfei can definitly keep things burning.

People underestimate how valuable chongyun can be, as a full DPS he can nuke pretty good with his ult, and even with a Debate Club equipped as a support he can do some good Shatter/Superconduct procs. the main value however is his AoE Cryo infuse to other melee characters. Chongyun fridge with Dendro Traveler is a pretty fun comp that i noticed today while farming domains that can probably throw some numbers if everyone got maxed on talents and equipment for abyss.

Cryo infusion barely matters tbh, who would want this? Going from main dps Chongyun to main dps Kaeya isn't an amazing change, especially in normal gameplay where you don't want to meme and clear abyss. Not sure he adds more value than a hyperbloom team. Now I wonder if he is better in melt with Citlali, Bennet and Kazuha or Xiangling.

Was a fun video to see. One suggestion I can say, from personal experience, is using the Sac Greatsword on him. You can cause that ascension ice blade to come down early if the weapon's ability procs. I'll admit that I had Chongyun for the longest time and didn't do anything with him (got him around when Shinobu came out), and then I saw this video by TarZBlammo that talked about his kit a bit and saw the Cryo infusion ability. I then put him onto my work in progress team for Kachina, and he's been doing quite well there. Two piece Golden Troupe, two piece Gilded Dreams, a Sac Greatsword, and he's been great as a support character for that team.

I have a half-baked chongyun and now that I'm in natlan, I can just start building 4-stars and he's on the list. out of your to-build characters, though, I'd love to see your take on a dps yanfei or even tankfei (if you have the constellations). I find her gameplay so fun and I built her so unseriously but she's currently my favorite dps. once I find her perfect team comp, it'll be over for everyone. 🔥

For my Chongyun I used Shenhe (I got her on her only rerun), Bennett, and actually Amber. I mainly used her for her burst which gives Chongyun some extra attack and it has pyro application which let me melt all four of the spirit blades. Her skill could also give some extra particles and melt her own damage if needed.

All the characters you mentioned seem fun, but Freminet is a four star that I think deserves a lot more love given how pretty a design he has. After the shatter buffs, he might be able to pump out some pretty solid damage!

Chongyun has some of the coolest idles and attack animations. Also do Yanfei next, she's a pretty solid 4star dps I recall and I used to come across Yanfei mains regularly up until Fontaine released and they could hit upwards of like 100k with her and I always thought that was cool.

Chongyun is definitely one of my favorite 4 stars, the problem was I couldn't pull him and only got him from Lantern Rite at first, then afterwards I kept pulling him from the standard banner and I even risked it on Ayaka's banner to get his C6.

I pulled Shenhe only for her desing and then i had no cryo characters for her to buff cause i never liked cryo...so i built Chongyun dps and he was AMAZING, he saved me in a lot of spiral abysses (when cryo was still playable). Unfortunately Wrioth came out and replaced him. Sorry Chongyun 😅

You should try this team for Chongyun before you call it wraps, Chongyun Bennet Nahida and since you don't have Shenhe either Kazuha or Xilonen should work

@dgmojojojo Nahida burst gives up to 250 em to the onfield character while applying dendro, yes Bennet c6 as it makes guaranteeing at least a triple to quad melt possible, rotation is Shenhe burst->Skill, Bennet Burst->skill, Nahida burst ->Skill, one Chongyun normal attacks into burst skill. yanfei is actually a good character. top 5 four star dps behind noelle, gaming and xiangling. used to be objectively better than ningguang but ningguang is seriously buffed by xilonen while yanfei can't really use her so ningguang caught up and they're on the same level now. so build yanfei.
