Is their a big difference between aluminum bulkheads opposed to plastic? Specifically in performance.
@DoRC Жыл бұрын
They're not going to make the car any faster or more powerful but there are a lot stronger. This means that it's less likely you'll break the ears off if the shock tower takes a hard hit and also less likely that you'll strip years because the aluminum won't flex as much as plastic will which will keep the gears in more consistent relation with each other. Thanks for watching and commenting and if you aren't already subscribed a sub is appreciated :-)

Am I missing something here bud ? What is it ? Is it the arrma outcast or notorious. They look the same to me what is the main diffrence ? Thanks bud nice rc ! @@DoRC
@DoRC Жыл бұрын
savagex466 The Outcast and notorious originally were basically the same truck just with different bodies. Then the outcast EXB RTR came out and it included a bunch of upgrade parts such as 7075 Towers a 7075 chassis etc. The RTR outcast was discontinued at that time. Currently you can get the RTR notorious or the RTR outcast EXB. If I had to put a label on this truck I would probably call it an outcast EXB because it has the Outcast body and EXP differentials but the vast majority of the truck beyond that is all upgrades so it would be fair to call it either one I think. Clear as mud? :-)

What happened to the M2C rear shock tower brace? Its in the beginning of the video but not in the end of the video. Did you drill through the carbon fiber rear shock tower?
@DoRC Жыл бұрын
I explain it at the end of the video. The first tower actually broke right at the brace. It didn't break where I drilled through it but it did break right at the edge of the brace. The brace doesn't allow the carbon fiber to flex enough and it failed. I replaced it with a new tower for the second part of the video and had no issues after that.

As a scratch build minus electronics You're probably looking at around $1,500. That being said this was more of a passion project than what I would consider a practical basher build. You can get most if not all of the durability that this truck has for probably half. If you start with an EXP brand new, stick with the stock electronics and sell off the stock parts as new when you upgrade a This can be done at least reasonably economically.
@surfside7528 күн бұрын
Twice I upgraded to this top level with RTR kits. Never again. -building chassis up is the way to go for top level durability. All aluminum, titanium and carbon fiber✅️

@DoRC Жыл бұрын
Honestly I think that the test I put it through represent a pretty good reasonable torture test. Obviously if you push anything far enough you can break it but I don't really think that represents a realistic scenario. MT-10 maybe but Savage, unless you've put a lot of upgrades into it, no way. I've had plenty of savages over the years and they just are not up to the level of durability of even a stock modern basher. They are still fun though :-) thanks for watching!

@DoRC11 ай бұрын
That's tough to quantify. It was a lot of fun and the resulting vehicle is a work of art but it was also extremely expensive and I think you could get the vast majority of the durability for a lot less money. You also kind of end up chasing your tail with this sort of thing because the more you upgrade it the heavier it gets which tends to find the next weak point in the chain. Ultimately I don't regret doing it but I probably wouldn't recommend it to somebody else.
