Let's take a look at the Rlaarlo Desert Buggy AM-D12 Basher! This little RC Basher is way better than Traxxas 1/16 Merv and definitly gives RCs like the 16889 Pro and Team Associated 14MT a run for their money!

I have the Red version & it not only looks good it performs well it’s not a cheap RC by any means even though at the price which is much lower then more common brands the components are hobby grade worthy & it’s designed & put together very well. People are really going to start buying these because they are so much fun tuff & don’t cost a lot.

You're doing the best reviews out there. One of the thing that kept me from buying one of these is that I already have a bunch of modded wltoys. I noticed thanks to your in depth review that new upgrades for the 1/14th and 1/12th wltoys may actually be from their development on these or maybe they just threw everything at them idk, are they really that much more solid? A 1/12th brushed wltoys (with a 550 mount) is half the price of this, you may be getting what you paid for in upgrades but for me the 2847 motor in this is not enough for me, I might only buy a body kit from them if I trash one of mine.

@@DoRC What are you using for a driver for those small screws?
@DoRC
@DoRC 11 ай бұрын
@jrfishes It's a no-cry brand variable speed driver from Amazon. Weird name but I really like it. I'm using a MIP bit with that. It's all I'll use anymore. Good quality bits make a huge difference in not stripping out screws. You do need to be really careful with a power driver on screws this small though. I've was a mechanic for 20 years so I've got a pretty good hand for it but if you're not careful you can very easily strip them out.

It can’t be any worse than any other Chinese brand. WLToys has a big part of the market and everything has to come from China. The worst parts are from EBay. NONE of the dealers claiming to have parts in your country actually do. They’re processing your order through China just like you can do on your own.
@DoRC

@@kodak_jack hmm. I've bought parts off of Amazon and had them two days later. I don't think they came from China.

@@DoRC Parts I’ve gotten through Amazon for Chinese vehicles get to me faster than if I ordered them on my own, but I’ve never gotten them that fast. It seems that anything I order from Amazon that doesn’t show up quickly is coming from out of the country. Danger, Will Robinson, Danger! Amazon considers parts from China to be third party items. If there is a problem, at least that’s how it was for me, Amazon leaves it for you to battle with the dealer to straighten things out!! They take a hands - off attitude and do NOT stick up for you or try to refund your money. I don’t know if this was an isolated incidence, but I was none too happy about it and try not to buy parts through them.
@DoRC

Yes I thought that would be the case, making it difficult to get hold of different pinion gears to possibly gear up. I understand this buggy comes with a 17t pinion stock, I know you can get 19t & 27t mod 0.7 pinions from Banggood. But if you wanted other size pinions it might prove difficult getting them in mod 0.7 pitch. I am awaiting delivery on this buggy myself from Rlaarlo.

@DoRC
@DoRC 10 ай бұрын
It's always a good idea to go through the diffs and everything when you get a new car regardless of the brand. They are complicated electronic and mechanical beasts and are often not put together the best in the world. Thanks for watching!
@thedoomslayer14
@thedoomslayer14 10 ай бұрын
Thx for your. It will be my first RC I want to do it properly. Normally I will also get the upgraded parts so I’ll do all at once. After lots of reading I went for marine grease for the diff, you concur ? I bought short Ovonic 3S 2200mah 35 lipos (short and much lighter). What proper installation do you recommend because of the size ?
@DoRC
@DoRC 10 ай бұрын
@thedoomslayer14 Marine grease is fine but as long as you're not going to be running it underwater any grease will work. Since electronics aren't waterproof anyway I doubt you'll be doing that. I'm not sure about the battery. The best thing to do would be just to get it and then figure out the mounting from there. It might just work under the stock strap but you might need to get a longer strap. I would recommend as I said in the video getting rid of that little nub that's in the battery compartment as it can rub on the battery and cause problems in the long run.

@@DoRC I’m assuming this buggy has plenty of ground clearance for true OFF ROAD use? Many of the buggies out there, like the stretched WLToys 1240xx ones are too low for real bashing. It also looks to be 1/12 scale in width whereas those 1240xx ones are 1/14 scale stretched in length only to 1/12= too narrow to even get a decent battery in them.
@DoRC
@DoRC 10 ай бұрын
@@kodak_jack Yes I would agree with that. The tires on this are large enough that they allow you to actually run in fairly rugged off-road terrain. Of course it is a small car so anything like tall grass or big rocks etc are still going to stop it but the extra ground clearance afforded by the larger tires really does help.
