I feel like you should build a whole diorama with these smaller ones. With the junkets theme, a forklift moving a car yo a crusher, the stacks of cars, etc.

It looks like the deleted scene from Cars Lost
@1yris1 Жыл бұрын
You do amazing work! I don't know if you have ever tried doing more subtle cracks in the windshield but if you ever want to do just normal small cracks. I usually make a small dot on the inside and start from that dot and go out from it in whatever direction all on the inside. It looks really good but for the smashed window look your method is amazing. 👍

Thank you! Much appreciated! Yeah, the variety of effects found in abandoned or junked scenes are endless. So much fun figuring out how to render 'em!

Absolutely love this Diorama, I noticed you use a bench drill instead of a Dremel, is it more precise to use or just personal preference?
@VicsModShop11 ай бұрын
With these tiny pieces, holding the part, rather than the drill, I think I can get at angles easier.. more stable and accurate. I break fewer drill bits too! 😆 Thanks so much!

Iv just purchased a jewelry saw to modify my diecast trucks because im scared to death of using a dremel🤣, what would be the best size/ number cutting blade would you sugest to be the best for cutting diecast metal, ie doors,bonnets, ect, Many thanks
@VicsModShopАй бұрын
@@johnsampler520 I’m afraid you’re asking the wrong guy.. I’ve done very little coping saw work on diecast.. it really tested my patience! 😆 I broke so many blades I became frustrated. Definitely pick up a variety pack and experiment.

How long does it take you to make these?
@VicsModShop Жыл бұрын
So far I’m averaging around 2-3 days a piece. Working 8ish hours a day.
@BudgetBonsai Жыл бұрын
Excellent! Would you tell me how you punch that tall grass in please?
@VicsModShop Жыл бұрын
Sure! I used a sewing needle, cut the "eye" in half to made a tiny "fork" .. Mounted it in a pinvise. The "grass" is bristles from a chip brush. And the base is EVA foam which tends to grab the bristles. I usually add a dab of glue at the base of the grass to assure it stays put. This is similar to adding hair to a latex halloween mask. Thank you!

As an actual custom car fabricator and designer I don’t understand how people get such good results out of acetone, it’s always been really weak for me even when I drown my rag in it, I’ve just been using paint stripper in light doses
@VicsModShop Жыл бұрын
The graphics on these little cars are very weak compared to the main paint… like a decal or screen print on top of enamel. If I want to remove the base color, I use paint stripper as well.
