The cool thing about the Sakon clip is that every time you do it, you start the Sun's Mask sequence, regardless of when you do it. Even if you've already done it before. And every time you finish it, time gets immediately set to midnight on the final day, immediately starting the final hours sequence. But you can even do this clip AFTER midnight of the final day, which can actually rewind time back to that point, giving you a fresh six hours to work with. Which might be a clever way to buy yourself a little more time if you happen to be in Ikana and time is running out.

The Couple's Mask is one of the few items in the game; among those that carry through the time loops, that the game doesn't check your inventory for at the time when you should get it. Thus, even though it's pointless, you can get the Couple's Mask multiple times.

Now that Pamela was in this video, I got something for you 100% true: If you rescue her father, we all see she welcomes you in her house, as we know. HOWEVER, there’s one interesting little detail: she welcomes Links only in whichever form he rescued her father. For example, if we play Song of Healing as Deku Link, she won’t kick us out of her house if spoken as Deku Link afterwards, while kicking us out if spoken in any other form in that three day cycle.

Farm rupees using light arrows on several enemies like the blue bubbles, It's an easy 50 Rupees. Bottled items like the seahorse can sell for some easy money. Kill the thief bird for 200 rupees, elemental arrows go faster. If he steals your stuff check the curiosity shop he's in cahoots with the shopkeeper. The mini-games have good cash outs. get every treasure chest in Termina Field with pixel-perfect precision the Hookshot can get the chests quicker than the intended ways. Completing the Wall song sets will give more rupees, you can position yourself in a way to see those notes when playing the ocarina. Completely chopping the shaking grass with a fully charged red spin attack and the gilded sword will give you a bonus of 20 rupees. 28 total. There's an easy 100 rupees in the observatory path behind a cracked wall use explosives, draw your shield to prevent damage from the blast mask. Taking care of Sharp with the Song of Storms will permanently despawn the Gibdo's for each 3-day cycle. It also waters the magic beans and removes bubble curses. The Gibdo Mask renders Redeads useless, they will spin around like a ballerina or do a humorous kick dance. Again same engine as OOT, much of what you could do there still works in MM including the Cucco Swarm Attack if you attack the Cuccos in the second building on the ranch. Skull Kid's fairy's are named Tatl and Tael a play on Tattle-Tell. It provides context for the complex relationship Skull Kid has with practically everyone in Termina; the fairies, the giants and their stories, The bombers. Smash the gossip stone into a pancake by using Goron Link and ground-pounding it. Many masks have interesting effects on people There is a lot of hidden dialogue. The 3 transformation masks usually have the most variety. Did you know the Circus Leader's mask stops the Gorman Bros from attacking during the milk delivery segment? The Stone Mask is great for stealth and pretty effective at avoiding conflict, especially from the cannon boars, and the Gerudo Fortress pirates. A picture of them is useful for an NPC in the Great Bay Area. I'm pretty sure the Bremen Mask affects other bosses besides the Skull King's minions, I think it did something to Odolwa as well. If you go to the swordsman school on day 3 in the last 5 minutes he can be found in a secret room. Some interesting stuff happens in Clock Town in the last 5-minute window, some people will have already evacuated to the ranch by then. Did you know Goron Pounding gives you some height advantages, like the Zora bench trick. if you get hit by an enemy at the apex you can clip through things. Rapidly flicking the Lens of Truth off and on won't consume MP. You can use arrows, bombs, feathers, or other things to find some invisible platforms, it's especially useful for the Goron shrine.

I mean it would basically be like when Link kills Sakon, he gets some Rupees but if he visits the Deku Palace he suffers for his actions! Or maybe the Deku Princess doesn't mind as it turns out the Curiousity Shop guy has Business Scrub connections and he's able to get her back home & when Link shows up she stops him from being thrown out as he helped facilitate her return regardless (she keeps quit about him selling her as he did ultimately get her back home albeit in a round about way or this only works if Link helps her out as a Hylian who would normally have trouble entering the palace, while the Curiousity Shop's Business Scrub connections are able bring her back home without issue and the Deku Princess assumes that Link knew what he was doing! However if Link bottles her as a Deku he faces punishment cause he has a way to access the palace! 15:07 - "Here's an idea try to see how they react to Zora Link (and his magic barrier) and if they can grab the Fierce Deity like the Gibdos and ReDeads in OoT could to Adult Link (fun fact: originally Majora's Mask was going to have an Adult Link mask but it was scrapped and presumably evolved into the Fierce Deity Mask)! 15:41 - "If I were to attempt this I'd use Chateau Romani to gain infinite magic and make sure I have the largest Quiver! Still wonder if it works on the 3DS (probably not but maybe Nintendo failed to patch it out)!" 15:21 - "Here is a trick I discovered in MM 3DS, if you hookshot the palm tree to get on the Turtle's back, you can equip a transformation mask (Zora, Goron, Deku, though I haven't tried the Fierce Deity) with the transformation occuring off screen (you can still see the sky turn dark and hear the transformation before the cutscene resumes) traveling to the Temple while transformed! Its great for if you want to immediately be in Zora form upon entering the Temple or any other form like say the Goron Link to break the barrels on each side of the dock where the Turtle is! Still I think this trick is also possible in the original but I'm not sure as my memory isn't always the most reliable!"

The mask of scents is supposed to visualize odors in general, not just the mushroom locations. That's why the toilet has purple smoke, but no mushroom. It's Link literally seeing poo gas.

Some others I can think of If you bomb a sheika stone and hit it when it changes colors, it will abort and keep the color, I dont remember if in MM works but OoT it does, they can also spin if you hit them with dins fire or magic arrows In OoT you can pause the trade items timers on death mountain crater if you don't wear goron tunic, as the heat timer will override it, this is helpful on the eye drops if you go from lake hylia to kokiri forest to lost woods to goron city to death mountain crater to death mountain Circus Leader Mask is useless on n64 MM, it only will make gorman brothers stop attacking you on the cremia quest, quest which lets you get the Romani mask, which you need to enter the Milk bar to obtain the circus leader mask to begin with You can enter sakon hideout anytime by clipping from the right side using a well timed roll with the bunny mask, if you are doing this while doing the kafei quest you wont need to wait until the time he appears and even finish earlier instead of the usual 12am You can avoid gibdos and redeads if you walk, even fast walking (control stick not at full) and they will ignore you, running triggers them

17:50 - "Um, I know it can be fun to just be evil sometimes in a game, but you do realize that cause Link is a time traveler he can get his Rupees all he has to do is learn the New Wave Bossa Nova from the Zora Tadpoles then start a new three day cycle, grab up the Zora Eggs and sell them all to the Curiousity Shop for a profit which he can then store in the bank! After all you only need to learn the song once to play it for Lulu, and acquiring the Eggs is only really necessary one time (the game sorta acts like Link collected them during the credits even if on the final three day cycle before defeating Majora he didn't even collect a single egg which I have chalked up to the Goddess of Time stitching together parts of different cycles together so on the 4th Day every problem that Link solved during his adventure became part of the Next Day Timeline)! Still I guess its one of the advantages of having the power to rewind time, you can basically sell eggs of sentient beings for profit keep said profits cause the Bank is presumably made of Timeshift Stones that ensure your Rupee balance remains intact even if you rewind time! Still I guess the devs added it so the eggs would have an additional use after learning the song for the Temple and/or showing one to Evan to prove Mikau is actually collecting them to restore Lulu's voice (if you show him one Evan will tell Zora Link to take them to the researcher)! 18:07 - Actually there are 7 Zora Eggs total meaning if Link sells all 7 eggs at 20 Rupees per egg, he can accumulate 170 Rupees in one cycle (basically its a decent way to make use of the eggs after learning the song and can be a great way to build up a nest egg at the Bank along with other Rupees that reset each cycle like the chests on Termina Field, the two Telescope Guays that drop a Red Rupee, the two Red Rupees that drop from the tree you can knock the Part-timer out of, etc! Combine it with the Silver Rupees around Clock Town and you can just do a three day cycle where you focus on collecting Rupees to store in the bank!

You can climb on the barn roof on day one Without falling through. But if you don't save the ranch from aliens, On day 2 you will fall through the roof into the barn. You have to use Zora link to climb up.

A great way to make late-game cash; as soon as you have the light arrows, you can go into Termina field and kill either the dodongos during the day, the snowball men at night, or the blue bubbles at night and get 50 rupees each kill. It's possibly the fastest way I've found to fill up the bank since at that point all you need is magic and arrows.

12:55 Don't feel bad, Zora Link can't swim in the swamp, not even with glitches. The water is simply too shallow. I don't know why people think you can do that. They might be thinking that you can swim in the Swamp Temple if you happen to have the Zora mask. I'm actually not sure if that water is even deep enough.

Zora Link is far too tall to swim in most water if he can stand its too shallow to swim and Goron Link may sometimes immediately drown in water since Gorons sink like a stone... Though the swamp is shallow enough in some spots for Goron link to walk. Until you light the torch in the middle in wood fall dungeon the water is poisonous and will stop the swimming. Once you clean it you can swim like normal. The rest of the poisonous water elsewhere in the swamp is cleared up when you complete the dungeon. So you'll need to do that to test the swimming properly. Don Gero's mask lets you talk to the frogs, and even the frog boss in woodfall and rocker frog in great bay dungeon can be talked to. Like OOT there is a frog song minigame.

in ocarina of the time the Guay also has a giant variant under the same logic. you kill a bunch of them and it spawns. This also applies to ocarina's stalkids in hyrule field, and the levers in the desert. so that just seems to be a mechanic with infinite spawn enemies, that if you kill enough of them, they spawn in a larger variant. Even more interesting, I dont know if it applies to the other 2, but stalkids dont seem to have an upper limit, the more of them you kill, the bigger the variant is when it spawns. This is only stopped by daytime preventing them from spawning at all. If you use cheats or glitches to keep it nighttime forever, you can get some pretty silly results.

Here are a few things people might not know about, in order of usefulness: - Shooting the blue bubbles (the flaming blue skulls that curse you) with a light arrow, gives you 50R every time. They also respawn without leaving the area, making it a fast way to grind money. this is way faster and less risky than shooting the thieving bird for 5 minutes at a time. - Getting hit by them causes you to not be able to draw your sword, but you can break the curse by playing the song of storms, something the composer flat says it would do (breaking curses that is). the fairy sword works always because it is an item. - Wearing Gorman's Mask causes the "bandits" to not attack the milk transport and simply ride after it without ever attacking, even if you don't shoot at them. You have to put the mask on before talking to cremia on the milk transport. This is a bit pointless though as to get the mask, you need to have protected the milk transport at least once without it. - Walking up to the king ikana while he's still on the throne with the captain's head causes him to confuse you for a moment with the leader of his army, leading to some hilarious dialogue. The bremen mask can be used to make the soldiers march - The composer sharp at the wellspring reacts to the song of healing, but doesn't stop draining your health with his evil music until you leave or play the song of storms. so it's kinda pointless, but a nice touch - The position of the light spots in the ikana castle throne room depends on the time of day. this is the only place in the game where this is the case, everywhere else the light comes down perfectly vertical and doesn't change with the time of day. this makes it even more silly that there is light at nighttime.

A lot of people think Romani isn't at the Ranch on Day 2 if you fail to save the cows (and her), but you can actually find her wandering aimlessly across the ranch from the house, completely in a daze such that she doesn't respond if you try to talk to her. She walks in a large, circular route, and occasionally stops and looks lost. She's even still carrying her practice bow, unlike in Day 3. I guess Cremia finds her sometime during the night, notices how out of it she was, and takes the bow away so she doesn't hurt herself. Either that or she takes it while Romani is sleeping.

i don't know if you ever plan on doing one of these for Wind Waker, but there's some interesting stuff that I haven't heard anyone talk about with how soup and other consumables work. for example, you can instantly exorcise the Poes haunting Link by drinking soup. and if you perform the infinite soup glitch (by hitting start at the same time as the soup) you can even hear the Poe leaving Link, confirming you did the glitch correctly. Similarly if you play Command Melody with the Poe still haunting Link and with Medlii (or theoretically makar) in range, when you switch back to link the Poe will be gone but Link will still have the 'drunk' reversed direction effect and it will persist until you void, die, enter a load zone or reset. There's also some interesting soft locks that can be achieved by using the same duping glitch as the infinite soup glitch. For example if you go to put a flower or other Zunari shop item in a pedestal but swap it for another item Link will just stare at the pedestal and you will be unable to do anything (the game keeps running but the ui is gone and buttons disabled) until you reset or load a save state. The infinite soup glitch also works with bait and pears but i think that's more commonly known

Here's a small but interesting one, if you do a spin as deku into water you'll go maybe 2x 3x farther then if you just walk into the water, you'll also be faster but the gaps between hops are bigger as well, might have already done this one and it's like sorta well known I see most speedrunners do it but then also like "forget" about it or something somethings and do normal hops

This works off any platform btw as long as your not falling from height, so like from shoreline or even the lily pads outside the palace if you fall from to high though your speed gets cancelled out.

If I recall correctly, you can enter Sakon's cave with that roll fairly easily. I just stood right by the intersection between the door and wall, held run for a moment, and rolled. If you enter the cave early, Kafei won't be there. You can start the conveyor belt, but since you can't beat the mission alone, the mask will fall. If you return later with Kafei the quest will have already failed. (Update 10/2/24: I have since tested this on Wii and N64, and been unable to get the quest to fail instantly. I'll update again if I remember something which gets this to work, but currently I believe that I remembered incorrectly. Apologies for the incorrect information) There might be a scenario where rolling into the cave is useful if you missed an earlier part of the quest, or do not want to wait for Sakon to open the door on the final night, but I might be remembering that part incorrectly.

There was something you could do there that allowed you to use the Fierce Deity's mask anywhere. I don't know if this was patched in later copies of the game, though. I don't remember the steps, but it had something to do with swapping between Link and Kafei and manipulating items in your inventory. You could then run around Clock Town as the Fierce Deity. I only remember doing it on the N64 cart years ago.

It might simply be that you start the mission with Link wearing a transformation mask, and then while you're Kafei you swap the mask you're wearing with Fierce Deity. I found you could also use this to equip the Giant's Mask, but this will softlock the game with Link stuck in his transformation pose.

3:24 the jump you use to get back to the other side wasn't started with a roll and didn't use the bunny ears, yet you still were able to grab the ledge abd climb back up. Since the first jump you did to get to that side started with a roll and got the same distance, grabbing the ledge and climbing up the same way you did with the 2nd jump without a roll... I would conclude that rolling doesn't make a difference. I think we need a retest with the bunny ears on and roll before jumping at the same time on that ledge. If you clear it without needing to grab the ledge (or not), that would settle this one.

The Bremen mask isn’t the only mask that has special effects in the fight against Igos Du Ikana, Once you kill his lackeys, walk up to him while wearing the captain’s hat. This makes him confused as to why Captain Keeta is small and fighting him.

IIRC Redead and Gibdos are blind in OOT (not sure if it's the same for MM). Meaning if you keep your sword sheathed and walk slowly, you can sneak right past them. You can even get up real close and look them dead in the face with no issue. But they will scream if they hear your footsteps or the metal clink of your sword.

Here's something interesting: you can use the mirror shield to deflect the Wizrobes' magic. Also, if you bomb jump over the fence for Great Bay and beat the ocean side spider house on the first day with no wallet upgrades, you actually get the adult wallet. Then, when you get the 200 rupees for the bank in Clock Town, you get the Giant Wallet.

Nice video as always! Did you ever sell the gold dust for the gilded sword to the night shop for 200 instead of the low amount that the blacksmith offers you? The other thing i wanted to ask was whether or not you had tried the trick to change the instrument's sounds. To do this, you go to the zora hall and go to the guy making tuning adjustments that asks the zora to strum on his guitar to check the tune. After he asks you to do this, try switching to another form and playing your instrument.

Yo I figured out how to do the fierce deity glitch in Sakon's Hideout. Apparently, you need to have a mask on before you do it, such as the bunny hood for example, and then when you free play as Kafei, you need to switch the mask you're wearing as Link for the fierce Deity mask, so that when you switch back to Link, he'll become Fierce Deity Link!

Your video inspired me to crank out the VC Edition on Switch. I got all the way to beating Stone Tower temple without using Ice Arrows to access Ikana Canyon. In fact, I don't have any of the remains of the bosses at all. Well, I did decide to beat Stone Tower Temple. So now I have Twinmold's remains. Did you know the Ikana Canyon River drains into the Southern Swamp by the Potion Shop? Did you know if you follow the waterfall from the potion shop back up you can use it to get into Ikana Canyon, however, unless there is some crazy glitch you can use? Curiously the scene that played out after beating Ikana Canyon as the first dungeon is the exact one from Woodfall excluding the Deku Princess and I ended up learning Oath to Order so you can play the dungeons out of order. I got all the fairy rewards except the defense one from Great Bay. I hate the Water Dungeons. I also have the Great Fairy Sword, Powder Keg License, Fire Arrow, Light Arrow, and Mirror Shield. I could easily go get the Mask of Truth or Big Wallet. Though I'm stuck with the Kokiri Sword. I don't have the New Wave Bossa Nova, and I'm only missing like 6 masks mostly because I haven't bothered to get them. People say the N64 Zelda Titles aren't open-world, they sure feel like it though. Nothing stops you from going anywhere. Just get the key items exit the dungeon and then explore the game to your heart's content. You can still exit East Clock Town as Deku even before the end of the first 3-day cycle. The hidden cow hole is still there but unfortunately, Goron Pound doesn't open it, only the blast mask or bombs. You can get into Epona's pen on Any day especially day one by clipping through the backside you can even ride her unfortunately it seemed impossible to escape the pen. You can use the hookshot to get to many chests in the game like the one on the ledge in South Clock town (requires good precision with the hookshot) or the trees in Termina Field, the ones that require magic beans.

I don't know if you have covered this or not. At the start of the labyrinth in front of the forsest temple in OoT you can find a tripped out cave. Bomb around the ground where you come out of the forest and eventually you find a cave. It has the coolest looking wall textures its so trippy.

I know a way to get launched out of bounds in East Clock Town. On the roof of the Milk Bar, there's a little fenced-in area with a signpost. Climb onto the very edge of the fence on the signpost side, without moving any farther along the fence or turning, then put on the Blast Mask, hold shield, and explode. It should launch you out of the boundary. I tested this on the Switch Online version and it works, but it was fixed in the 3DS version. Also, Kafei takes damage from your explosives while in Clock Town.

The dive button was available when you turned into zora while diving as kid link, and you didnt even attempt to press it, you just put the mask back on (i e done the glitch before it works but also makes an annoying thud collision noise constantly whe. you're swimming
