As a british collector i can corfirm, that the 1926 silver 3pence isnt .925. It is .500. All coins between 3 pence and crown changed from .925 after 1920 to .500 until 1947 when they stopped using silver

Before you buy anything on eBay, check the seller's feedback! And don't buy anything from outside the U.S., especially from China. You valued the "grab bag" higher than I would have. You can score some bargains on eBay. but look for mixed lots where you can see the coins before you buy them. I hope you left negative feedback for this seller.

Love that 100 yen! Japan also did a 1000 yen silver coin for the olympics that year too, the only 1000 yen coin to ever circulate, although most were hoarded within a few years. They are still monetized too, so technically like $9 face value, although the metal is worth near twice that alone now.

Loved the honest video showing that there are lot of crooked EBay sellers selling grab bags. Another item that's crooked is unsearched rolls. Buyer beware. I have seen that type of packaging frequently before. The only coin that was nice was the NGC dollar but I don't collect modern coins. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work.

You were pretty spot on with the 1947-D washing quarter, they are selling for around $10-12 on Ebay with shipping right now in BU. ungraded. Their pricing is more based off a slabbed/graded version.

T.B. Willoughby I agree with the not buying grab bags to a certain extent. Most searches on eBay of a coin grab bag are just people sending you common coins and it’s a scam. But I once found a seller who sold an actual coin grab bag that was unique and actually worth it. It’s those small sellers that I trust.

I know what you mean by the Canadian silver. I had an 1858 dime nearly uncirculated that I had got in a junk silver lot. I just liked it because it was pretty and had some shiny luster still. Low and behold, I found that it is worth $180 ish. I paid about $2 XD. I had zero clue. I have a few other world coins in my collection like this such as the 1869 British penny or a French Madagascar coin that are worth $65 to $100 each and you could not tell by looking at em.

The lesson learned? Don't waste your money on a grab bag. The sellers use this to unload their garbage. I've never seen a grab bag worth even close to what they claim. If any of their stuff was really valuable, they would be selling it separately.

Admittedly Treasure Town I avoid coin grab bags on ebay for the sheer fact its too risky to know if you are getting decent coins for the price you pay for them.I will say that sometimes I do buy collections and lots that have actual pictures and details but truth-be-told in lots there may be one or two plain ordinary coins in them but for the most part the majority are really eye-catching. Mostly tho I just stick with regular single coins where I know what I'm getting.But to each his own I guess.

eBay keeps 15% so you could only expect $81, $5 shipping drops it to $76, but your valuations are on the “lowest possible” scale. Not really what an average person could readily get for that value . The “gold” vial is ridiculous though, those need to stop

That's true, but I'd say the valuations are actually pretty generous. If you factor in fees and shipping to sell the coins individually probably going to get crushed value and time wise.

That was a terrible grab bag seeing bags like this made me create a grab bag but mine are almost all 90% silver coins and an ounce of silver. Mine is based off the 2021 red book pricing but is $125 red book plus the one ounce of silver. I’m hoping to sell one soon and get the feedback from it!

A "predatory" coin grab bag. I like the name, there are serious sharks out there. Why do they call them "grab" bags?? Is it because they grab your money and give you so little in return? You could probably get 10 times the coins down your local coin shop for the same money. I would never bother giving my money to scams like these bags. The problem is that they prey on new and inexperienced collectors. Keep up the great work exposing this rubbish trying to rip us all off online.

just so you know, there is a coin in your video that says it is from cuba, 1915, 5 centavos, and it is silver. but cuba never made a 5 centavos coin that was silver in 1915. the coin in the video is copper nickel, not silver. and sorry if u said something about it in the video, my audio does not work on my computer

I scroll through ebay and other sites months one end several times a day just to find real coin lot deals lol there is one I kind of want to try but worried they might not be honest too lol.....I actually just missed out the other day both on a singular 1979 9 tf morgan dollar in Amazing condition and detail didnt look to be cleaned marked down to $80...and another lot I saw was a bunch of foreign coins which included a 1974 proof barbados $5 coin....for less then that coin alone is worth...perhaps about what it was worth in scrap but tons of other coins.. i was hesitant since I dont really like modern coins and missed out on the deal....meanwhile Im going through stamps I got at a thrift store and found 2 stamps that have a nearly $400 book value...paid $5 and even the street value on the stamps is like $80 each for the two

I hate the ole museum price scam. Some coin shops will do this in a way. They will self-grade various coins and price them at catalogue value instead of market value. It's annoying but your seller went to the extreme.
