Searching 100,000 Pennies - Biggest EVER Penny Coin Roll Hunt On YouTube

WOW! It's been something I've been looking forward to doing for such a long time and I finally managed to complete the hunt. I went through 100,000 pennies (or $1000 spending money all in pennies) and looked for anything that wasn't a regular penny. Those included Canadian pennies, Wheat pennies, Indian Head pennies, Proof pennies, Civil War Tokens (WHAT?), and penny-sized-coins from all around the world. I did a full wrap up starting at 14:01 highlighting the 976 coins that I ended up removing from circulation and adding to my coin roll hunting collection. The good news? I have another 100,000 waiting to be searched and look forward to comparing the results of the two hunts!
As a disclaimer, I searched 90,000 over the past year on this channel and had 10,000 unique ones to this hunt. We got some special ones during the video. Enjoy!

john green check and make sure your 1929 is either a high 9 or a low 9. High 9 will change your price dramatically!!

Good to do that when your young with good eyes lol, I looked through around 100 of my moms 1000 or so wheat backs she has and I said that’s enough! I didn’t find anything older than 1940 in them.

Do you have any info on how to find the date on a coin that has paint (?) or some sort or black goo on it? It’s an Indian head penny, either 1883 or 1893, I can just see the “18” and the “3” at the end…

Hi Christian I have found a quarter that took many double and triple takes to find the the errors in the quarter its a 2003 quarter with errors on the front and back the A in Arkansas is barley visible as is the D on the front of the coin for the mint mark and the nose has a blemish in the middle that looks like a piece of debris in the die during stamping. Please let me know if this flaw has been seen before

Christian I hope you make it clear that the 1940's and 1950's cents you found are basically worth their copper value --- even if they show luster and less wear say around VF/low XF they may sell for about 25 - 50 cents (with a few exceptions). I have searched one and a half cent boxes and what I found so far worth keeping are: a 1962 proof that I had to dip to clean grease off it, a excellent 1984 with very attractive zinc bubbling, 2009 Capitol Building Lincoln Cent, a 1946 RB about VF/XF. WIsh me luck. Great you got some from the 1920's and 1910's though.

I just hunted a single box of pennies, and, I got Two 1941 Philadelphia, one 1948 San Francisco, one 1950 San Francisco, on 1951 San Francisco, one 1953 Denver, two 1957 Denver, one 1958 Denver. Gotta love San Francisco!' I also found some nice Canadian pennies, including, a 1931 and 1941 in one roll! Those dates are: 1931, 1941, 1962, 1969, 1978, 1982, 1983, 1995 Another box to go!

Some coin machines use magnets to pull slugs from money deposited. A bank I use cleaned off the magnet because I asked if they had foreigns and twice there were 1943 steel pennies in the mix.

John Trujillo they told me they threw them out as slugs. Since they have no value in the USA and they throw them out, I asked if I could buy them. I get a bunch of slugs, prayer coins and foreign but they missed the 1943s
