Great job figuring out what to do to make that a beautifully running machine, John! Very proud of you.

Yea hey man.I have the same pwc,& have the same problem with the cluster.Not a thing showing.Let me know how you get on with that.Cheers.

@@michaelcudby787 mine is having the same issue still as well. I plan to do some more diagnostics on it in the next couple weeks, but from what I’ve seen so far, I’m pretty sure it’s internally damaged. You might try double checking your main power wire to the cluster and see if it’s damaged. Otherwise it may be toast. I’ll update if I find out what’s wrong with mine.

@@akgearhead I have had mine on trickle charge,most of the time,& wondering if that may have done something.I also note,that I have had my cluster replaced bout year ago,by a local ski guy....close to $1000NZ,so dont want to go down that road ,again.

@@michaelcudby787 hmm, seems like it would be strange for it to already be dead again. If you have a power probe or something like that, I’d try powering the cluster with that just to rule out an internal failure. Otherwise I’d check all your wiring back to the black box mounted on the divider in the hull. I think there may be a fuse inside that box, but can’t remember for sure.

@@michaelcudby787 just an update for you, I swapped the working cluster from my wife's ski, into mine, and it works perfectly. So I know there is an issue with my cluster, and not my wiring.

I have two GP760s. One has a leak at the same gasket as yours and the other needs a starter solenoid! Thanks for the video.
@akgearhead Жыл бұрын
You may have already confirmed that the solenoid is bad, but make sure and check all your connections in the electrical box. One of my GP 760’s ended up having a bad connection on one of the bullet connectors. It would vibrate loose after time, and I kept thinking the solenoid was bad. They’re simple machines, and I’ve had great luck with both of mine!

i also found out there is the reset code that will keep it from starting if you disconnect the battery. Hold the mode button in ad wait for it to read "code". Then press the "A" button four times!@@akgearhead

Very clean original machine, I thought mine was clean this is basically mint, even has the glovebox lid, oil pump and an unfaded boarding handle. That trailer winch setup looks wrong though, can't see well but it looks like the bow hook is resting on the winch. Be a shame to crack the hull over something easily preventable or have this shoot forward during a hard stop. Idk about prices and availability in Alaska but you got this for a steal even if it turns out to be a high hour engine which I doubt.

Clean skis are definitely somewhat harder to find here, especially older ones. Everything works on this one though except the gauges. There’s something internally wrong with the cluster. And yes the trailer setup was a little off. I’ve since adjusted it though. Appreciate you watching and commenting! The videos will get better over time.

Gotta watch out for those solenoids one on my ski went bad and the starter was still spinning after the ski was started and it retracted

Oh wow. Yeah fortunately I didn’t have anything like that happen with mine 😬

bought a 95 wave raider 700, great machine after rebuilding jet pump.

Old jet skis are awesome man! Fraction of the cost of a new one, and so easy to work on!
