An AOC i2757fh, only 60hz :( but I am saving up for a nice 144hz monitor ! I had to spend the money on a pc that can actually hit 144 hahaha

When I used the SpyderX to try to calibrate my aging ViewSonic 2365-LED monitor, I discovered it wouldn't go bright enough. At max brightness it was only reaching 62 nits. At 9 years old, was probably is about time to get a new display anyways. The replacement Gigabyte Aorus FI27Q-P is light years better in every regard! It's like going from driving a Ford Pinto to a Chevy Corvette. Also, most monitors tend to display on the cool (bluish) side by default. Most people will notice their display takes on a warmer (yellowish) tone after proper calibration and find it to look worse until they get used to it (same goes for tv sets). The 120 nits recommended brightness can be way too bright for a lot of "home office" environments. When doing a lot of color matched printing, a lot of people find setting the brightness somewhere between 70-90 nits proves to be optimal. Finally, when gaming, if using a software calibrated monitor instead of one with a hardware calibrated internal LUT, when gaming full screen, some games won't keep that calibrated color profile and the system will default back to the bluish default pre-calibrated state.

Thanks for this, my previous monitor was an XB270HU, it was a 1440p, 144Hz, IPS, GSync Monitor, and like you said it had a warmer yellowish tone to it. Years later it started having Gsync Flicker and it only had one display port so I sold it and picked up the freesync version the XF270HU. However the XF270HU has the bluish tone that you mentioned, that what brought me to this video. The colors I feel are not as good as my XB, that what brought me to this video. But if games dont take advantage of software calibration, then I have no need for this product then.

@@alicebonnet4607 yeah I'm considering getting one. I don't do photography but I'm real OCD about perfect blacks. Colours, Brightness I spent hours tweaking manually seeing what looks best but I would think a accurate device is better, after calibrating manually if looks night and day difference, I was wondering why it looked my device had a green tint since oh factory setting there was like a green tint because the greens were too saturated but now they're a little weak, thought it was just my game

@@Xighor I spent hours always reverting back to factory defaults because I messed it up so bad. Spyder takes about 3 minutes per display with much better results than expected. I just game and blacks in gaming is vastly better.

by default games do not use the calibration profile file the calibration process made. you have to force it with external tool. google it and learn. that is why you do not see any difference when gaming. the calibrated profile file is compatible with professional editing tools be defaults and works automatically. not with games.

the biggest changes you'll see when you calibrate a monitor are from the OSD adjustments
@AY-dw4om3 жыл бұрын
@@JerryNeutron I correct my self: It appears after a certain rev of drivers, Nvidia and AMD learned how to force the color profile in games as well. Nvidia after rev 417 since 2019 or so and beyond. just learned it these days. another thing is spyder is an armature equipment not very precise and looses precision after around 2-3 years top, unlike x-rite which never looses fidelity because its a sealed unit. and much bigger sensor so more precise in its measurements. pro's get x-rite, always its the industry standard...

Schiit Heresy, is such an amazing amp. same price as the original magni, but the sound quality to me is way better. Opamps being used, blows my mind. google it. On that note, I just bought the spyderx elite. I got money to waste XD. I have a 240hz alienware gaming monitor, and a 1440p HDR monitor. gonna try to calibrate both. Later this year I getting rid of dual monitor setup for the Samsung Odyssey G9, which is 5120x1440p, 240hz, 1ms, HDR1000, 1000r curve. And ill calibrate that too using it when the time comes. can't wait. I want to note, the elite lets you pick your brightness from other videos ive been watching. so if you, the person reading this, thinks the 120 calibration is too dark, the elite while more expensive will be better because you can set a higher brightness point.

@@selimtomar1909 I ended up switching over to a x-rite iDisplay Pro Plus. and it works great too. gave my spyderX to a friend who needed a colorimeter. and the x-rite product is just as good in my opinion. the tuning software lets you pick your brightness point. so you can tune to whatever you want. 80 nits, 100 nits, 120 nits, 200 nits, 300 nits, 600 nits. you just pick what you want. its awesome to be able to get color right. i had bought a cheap 240hz monitor for testing and without color tuning the colors are way off. by using a colorimeter i was able to fix the colors, not to "perfection" but "good enough" considering its a cheap low end monitor.

@@goblinphreak2132 I encountered these products accidentally and i liked what they promise even i don't have chance to try. The idea of adjusting color and calibrating them to the right direction correctly is a great thing. I read reviews about x-rite yesterday. There are people who think it is even better in comments as well. But i am looking for a product which could improve my single-player gaming sessions and movie nights with its features. Also these aren't cheap products, but if it is worth, i just want to try. So i have 3 options, SpyderX pro, SpyderX elite and X-rite iDisplay Pro Plus.
