Sometimes the perception gets kinda warped, because you do find people who can keep up, but you line up against some quintessentially quick cars and you pull away from them like it's nothing. Yo..ZL1 driver, here. Didn't know you were a youtuber and HUNTING for a race with a V8 judging by our small conversation lol. I see why you were reluctant to tell me what you had. As you know it was a cold and slightly wet night. Had to run from 4th since the Z just gets too rowdy on R888s in 3rd when it's like that. Even 4th was a little sketch but I was still curious since you make close to the same WHP and I had never run a GTI. Thought it would still be close with torque being in my favor lol. Hell of a build you got tho. I wish you were at the Midnight meet that following Thursday. Got a bunch of runs in and most notably with a G80 (E30, JB4, downpipe). The Z gets out strong but the G80 gets even and stretches the gap at about 130. It would have been interesting to see how your GTI would do against a $80k car. Good runs.

@@RDriver2.0 I’ve had my mk7 for years I’m running a tpc38 hybrid. I been in the mqb game for a while & I can tell you for a fact if jewels were to race an mk7 R with a vortex xl he would gap.. no drive train loss + 6 spd is what gives him the edge. Unlike most other cars , the manual in the gti is superior to any dsg car bc of the better gear ratios. Also puts down the power better as the dsg likes to spin more.. let’s say the R is also 6 spd.. it also wouldn’t matter bc the dsg & the manual keep relatively the same gear ratios.. unlike the gti. Now if we are talking abt the mk8 then you are correct
