Why do people think they have the right to touch the horses they are on duty as are the guards on their back the reason the signs were changed was because at one point there were about twenty people mostly Chinese mauling the poor horses face about, there were children patting very hard on the nose the horse was turning its head to try and get away from the crowd abusing it and the guard did nothing. Another time there was a horrible child rushing up and smacking the horse and nobody did anything about that. So as a horse lover and someone who has worked with abused horses I could see the horses looking very unhappy and some of these horses in the boxes are still not at all comfortable when too many people are near them outside the lines. I will concede that not so many meltdowns are happening since the painting of the box and not so many people are trying to touch the horses but they need someone to stop people entering the box and berating the guards who are protecting their horses and so the guards can get on with their duties properly. I also wish people wouldn't just stand and stare at the horses they don't like it at all, if you notice they always turn the opposite way with their ears back, it worries them.
