The skin/character is named Evil Illidan because internally inside the Editor he had the suffix "Illidan (Evil)" to distinguish that version of the character from the original Illidan. That's probably why they chose that name for the Reforged skin

Here's some trivia, too: Illidan's VA in W3, Matthew Yang King, is Mortal Kombat's current Liu Kang's voice actor, since Mortal Kombat 11 in 2019. I like Liam O'Brien in WoW and HoTS, but there's something about W3's Illidan...

Holy. I never knew that. I still say Illidans quote for the fun of it to this day and I really liked Liu Kang current voice actor really elevated that character just like how Cary did for Shang Tsung. Who knew he also voiced Illidan haha.

Illidan was much more of an Anti-hero in WC3 but one of his key character traits is lack of forward thinking. Sure he was going to destroy Icecrown to defeat the Lich King but something like that would cause a mass destabilization of an entire ecosystem and have untold effects on the rest of the world. Illidan is also the one that created another Well of Eternity because he couldn't think of living without magic despite the fact that it serves as a beacon for the Burning Legion to potentially find Azeroth so I understand why Malfurion was so unwilling to let Illidan enact any of his plans because they often have terrible long term effects.

You make a good argument but I wouldn't say Furion is infallible. He would have died in Emerald Dream if Tyrande didn't save him. 10,000 years in jail is unrealistically a long time, he was better off just killing Illidan for his crimes point blank rather than imprisoning him. Regardless they appeared to fix their relationship in the end after Illidan saved Tyrande in Maiev's campaign.

With regards to the creation of the 2nd Well of Eternity, the thing is, its not like that the demons do not know where Azeroth is situated in the universe like for god sake, they are demons who have already destroyed many mortal worlds before even Azeroth. Even if there is no second well of eternity its not like the demons would just simply accept and drag their tail and leave Azeroth alone after suffering a humiliating major defeat against the night elves. Surely, the demon would want to destroy Azeroth even more as revenge after losing in the War of the Ancients.

They could do so much with this game, they could make the Bonus campaign COOP, they could add COOP missions as in SC2 which were a big success for casual players and it still, after all these years get instant queue.

Something that I find funny as well and maybe something fun to know too: The Paladin skins change the Paladin in classic as well, it's just not marked. For example: Sir Nicholas Buzan gives the classic Paladin black hair - Dargren the Orc Slayer white hair

How the burning tracks always worked - you only see those that were placed down when you had vision of that unit. I learned this in the Maiev campaign, never thought it'd be useful in ranked!

For some reason a lots of voices were changed for Polish version for the Reforged, so there was a guide how to replace reforged files with OG sounds. I hoped that with 2.0 patch and selection of what style of the game you want there will also be a selection for sounds. It is a pity that we can't choose what sound we want. Old polish dubbing was just better, done by some amazing voice actors.

I have no issues with the sound. Guess it'll only be noticable for people who played the game for years non stop. The newly added sounds? I can understand how it matters for multiplayer, but for singleplayer, it's good to hear variation. If I bought the game, I'd play the campaign mainly, was never much into multiplayer. And I'd for sure use the reforged graphics for that. Remember GiantGrant's video? The majority of rts players are not in it for multiplayer.

Arthas and Illidan were pretty good villains because they probably have cases to not being evil villains. Arthas was corrupted by Malganis / Frostmourne / etc and Illidan fused himself with fel energy to defeat the demons with their own power, ultimately being betrayed by his own kind because they saw him as a threat. Two of the best written characters in the warcraft lore. They carried WoW for me. Once they were gone WoW was empty in some ways.

6:30 if the DH with foosteps-illidan-skin is invisible (pot/sorc) and walks over an area where the enemy have vision (but no detection), he and his footsteps will be invisible BUT if the opponent toggle his camera away then back at the relevant location, the footsteps that were drop while his camera was away will be visible

My biggest issue with Grubby's blind hatred is when he says "reforged sounds" or "reforged cursors" are "lower quality" that's just blatantly incorrect, you can not like it, you can say it's bad and you hate it, you can say the mixing is bad and it's all too loud, you can even say it's lower quality, long as you at least admit you're blinded by how much you hate it but he doesn't do that. He adamantly believes that its blatantly "lower quality". Maybe there's a language barrier there or something but it comes off as very obnoxious

Now, please do try out D2R, if you have it. And by pressing G in character selection, you can switch between old and new 3D models. Granted D2R old game is in not the same quality and framerate as original D2:LoD.(I have CD version and it looks better and has better framerate, proper 25 :)) D2R also removed local play. Do concentrate on how much fidelity they kept. Lots of people pretend it is fine. I do have original paper boxes where the 3D models are shown. I would love to see the comparison old and new :)

One thing is keeping the original original, if you want sound variation as with new and if the sounds arent misplaced as Grubby says, you wouldnt normally notice it imo. I do understand keeping the old as old without any corrupting influences, even if I think that gameplay-wise it is not really a problem. The sound does look like some twisting was done.

The only way to play Warcraft 3 is to buy the reforged (remastered) version. Even if you find an an old physical version of the game, you wouldn't be able to play online, neither get most of the new features.

I agree wholeheartedly about the sounds, I pirated the game and couldn't get past the first few campaign missions due to how awful the new sounds are. It's very distracting and off-putting, I used to play the campaign once every year or so but they've ruined my favourite game of all time. I'd love to buy it but not until the sounds are fixed at least.
