I live at Rayburn and there's so many brush piles sank daily in that depths (crappie fisherman) they move from one pile to the next, hundreds of piles, and that's why the bass and catfish stay there, even though it seems it's open water and no cover lol. Also some of the biggest I've caught have been in the creek mouths where there's thick grass or the flooded trees, monsters in those trees 😉 hope this may help next time

Forward facing sonar may be the future but it makes watching fishing tournaments very boring. It feels like watching someone play a video game and not being able to see the screen.

At least they are starting to do split screens now showing what they are seeing on the screen. It’s still not the answer but it’s a little better. I’m thinking how is this different from them banning trolling way back when tournaments started. Nobody thinks about trolling for bass much now, but the reason is because it was banned in professional tournaments and lost popularity because of that. It was done and popular enough way back then though. Buck Perry basically did nothing else and was the one who basically taught everyone how to fish offshore structures for bass. Those guys were targeting the same population of fish with it then as these guys now with ffs. One major reason trolling was banned is they didn’t think it would be entertaining enough seeing guys just slowly driving around out there. And it was a logistical problem in those early years draw tournaments. Now they are pairing pros with pros again because on the trails that have co anglers because they can’t get enough people to sign up. It’s the same crap issues from 60-70 years ago all over.

It only takes one of them to smoke their ass and it will always be more than one. Iv never had one but it's no different than sight fishing in a way if the fish doesn't see you. Agreed that angler's spend 80 percent of their day looking DOWN at it,10 percent boat ride and the rest pin pointing their cast by where they think it should land going by the screen. Yes it's incredible but on the other hand to me it would be called catching bass bc fishing ain't just jiggle stuff in there face seeing them until they bite. It's having the skill without that crap. @@codyreece7871agreed. It’s an advantage but nobody will ever vbe able to just win a tourney without knowing about structure and weather. Even if you become familiar with structure and weather people like Jacob wheeler understand it 10x better which is why he has so much success. The modern household names of bass fishing aren’t winning because they have ffs, they are winning because they have proper knowledge about fish behavior, structure, weather, know about all those things better then everyone else, have much experience and wisdom. Ffs just speeds up things on the water and tells you a bit more about the water and tells you a bit more about what the fish want. I think all those household names can easily read the fish masterfully without the ffs but it certainly speeds things up. Nobody will come into an mlf or bassist’s tourney and win because they just had ffs, they will win due to all the things I listed which is what makes the greats stick out and be that much better. Not to say everyone else is bad.
