As someone who has spent 1-2 weeks every summer over the last 25 years vacationing on the Oregon Coast to restore my soul, you really got to me when you said "it does the soul good" and commented that "it's magical". Your Love and respect of the outdoors shines in all of your videos, one of the many reasons I enjoy your videos so much. Haven't been up to Oregon since Covid hit so thanks for sharing your Oregon trip videos, so nice to watch someone enjoy the beauty that rugged coast has to offer.

Wow, what a great hike. The waves/Ocean are stunning. Love the drone shots and music. I so agree...walking to a place makes it even more special! Interesting about the jelly fish. Those tree stumps on the beach are cool too. Love stories like that. Nothing like the sound of an ocean. I would not want to live that close to the water. I live in the Lake Michigan area...I know what happens. Tristan tries a different world cuisine lol. The fortune cookie...perfect. The creamery products are here in the Midwest. A great adventure! 😀

What a pleasure to be able to share it with you.. Thank you! Think of Lewis and Clark with a camera and drone??? The book or logs would come alive. As we read and IMAGINE in our minds it now comes alive and we are a member of the experiences. Seeing and feeling and dreaming in real life. You are the fly on Lewis s shoulder!! So to speak.... To help you in your journeys forward.... interview are an added blessing to the adventures. Locals perspectives and thoughts... books are wonderful but passion breathes!! Feel the experiences more,, to share ... wife brother friend. Not only viewers. Keep up the great work!!😢

We saw Cape Meares and the Octopus tree along with the Tillamook Creamery (ice cream and cheese) during our 52 day trip to the West Coast in April and May 2018. Missed the ghost forest, the D river and Hart's Cove. As you have said you can't see everything in one trip. (Probably not in a half dozen even, there is so much to see in this country it is incredible, can't wait to get back on the road again). We stayed in a private campground that had so many rabbits running around it almost drove the dogs crazy.

@@samanthadodd8112 It was a lot of fun, we actually did it 2 years in a row. 2017 and 2018 both in the April-May time period mainly to get out before schools let out so to reduce crowding. The biggest lesson we hopefully learned for future trips was not to push to many miles on the road into a day (ouch sciatica's) especially early in the trip while trying to get towards the West. Each trip we put on almost exactly 10,050 miles on the truck (less on the trailer we hauled as we would set up in an area and day trip at times). We hope to get out again once things open up again....Alaska is a hopeful goal and it is a long ways from Maine and return.

Outstanding day! Loved the rough waves, and the ghost forest. The little arch is Proposal Rock Arch. Just read that the Harts Cove trail goes through a section of old growth forest. Would love to see that in person. My family tells a tale of me as a toddler, standing as close to the hot air register as possible, in the dead of winter, joyously scarfing down a bowl of ice cream. Still love it! Thanks for the tour of such a scenic and magical area! Happy Trails!

Who needs Stonehenge when you have an octopus tree? Wonder what really happened. A meteorite? UFO? Sacred shrine? They should have a book, or website where folks could enter their ideas and read others. Don't you just love perfect days like this. How nice that you have this documented, so when you have a not-so-great day you can watch this to elevate your mood.

Your ability to find a campsite only minutes before sundown always interests me. It is one thing that keeps me from taking off like you do. I think it would be helpful to talk a little more about the app you use and how to find campsites in a more detailed manner. I am one who needs to know ahead of time where I am staying. If I had the confidence you do to just find a site on the fly , I could do more. Your Adventure Knowhow site , with it gps coordinates , is super helpful! I would really like to do the west coast with my German Shephard this summer! My home is Denver, and I am getting tired of this snow!

I am a a native Oregonian (Portland/Gresham/Hood River areas) and spent much of my childhood going to the beach in various parts of Oregon with my family and clam digging on the Long Beach Peninsula (Washington). I promised myself I would live there one day, and over 4 years ago I retired and now live in Seaview, WA, just across the Columbia River on the Long Beach Peninsual (property was cheaper there), but it is actually a "suburb" of Oregon so to speak. I also lived in Seaside, OR, for 2 years before I bought my house. The Long Beach Peninsula area has small beach towns, but for real shopping the folks here go to Astoria. I love to see the reactions and comments of people who come to see the coast. In a lifetime I have not seen it all. I want to do some traveling, soon I hope. I enjoy your videos very much.

I want to thank you. I have watch 1000's of other KZbinrs videos and want to know where they stayed. And got frustrated because they never put the name of the place or location coordinates to the spot. The reason I truly appreciate it in your videos is that I am going to be Starting a 5 to 7 years bucket list trip, (may be a lot longer) and as I travel, I want to boondock camp and see amazing locations as I go about my travels. So thank you for the time and effort you put into your videos. I have been considering starting a channel when I start my trip, and told myself, if I do, to do what I didn't see in other peoples videos, and that's to make sure I put location coordinates in my descriptions, names of city's, states, and even people if they help me out. Redding, CA is the farthest up towards the PNW that I've ever been and that was way-back in the middle 70's…PNW as well as Idaho, Montana and the Dakotas are all on my bucket list. You've also shown me interesting spots in states like Nebraska and Iowa (I think in the past) and I'm gonna hit those spots as well. I think I still have a few friends up in those areas as well as Minnesota and Wisconsin and Michigan that I'll have to visit while I'm on the road. I have lived in Oregon my whole life (75 years now) and know most of the coast. You did well in your quick trip along it. Next time try catching the Cape Lookout trail. It juts out into the ocean about 2 miles or more I believe and well worth the hike. I did it many years ago and the end may be fenced off by now, but if not try hiking down to the bottom rocks. I watched whales and seals (one brought up an octopus thrashing it back and forth) along with many types of birds such as Oyster Catchers and Mures (sp?). Keep on traveling and posting. Thanks

An ad every two minutes, but worth plowing through for such great content. I have been to every place you went except the Harts Cove trail and the ghost forest. So, two new places in my back yard to go see. Thanks!

I totally agree. When you have a spot all to yourself, it's amazing and I think to myself... people don't know why they're missing! But then again, I wouldn't have the spot to myself. I like the less crowded areas also. (I'm catching up on older videos) Not sure how this one got passed me

21:30 The advantage of car camping 😁 Sleeping in a sheltered structure that can withstand 50 mph winds without turning into a noise monster. Many rooftop campers go to these spots during daytime only to return to the valleys at night because of the wind conditions.

We looked up the "Moon Jellyfish" when we were at Newport and they do not sting humans. Which of course is debated. But we stepped on a few and were not stung. So good to see the Oregon cost.

Thanks so much for this video and others along OR coast. I hiked to Hart’s cove so it was extra fun to see it through the drone view. I have a Subaru that I am planning a long road trip with this summer so I really appreciated your video detailing your equipment. Got my Jackery 500 and plugged it in to charge this am. I splurged on a DC heated blanket and as soon as I can I’ll be starting test runs to fine tune my gear and YOUR suggestions. I’ll probably break down at sometime and subscribe to Adventure Know-How. I’ll be driving from PDX ( my new home town x 8 yrs) to Moab, Arches, Bryce and run the green river with friends then head to Chicago to see my family. Hope to return via Colorado and Idaho, use your sites. I’m a bit nervous to be too remote though as I’ll be traveling alone. Looking forward to your 100,000 subscribers, treat yourself and Cassie to a bucket list adventure!

My route came from Salem to Newport. I was south of your location. I had been visiting a friend & a wake for that friend. Took her kitty who was super sweetie cat. Saw the damage from the Tsumani along the coast. Wanted to visit Gold Beach but too windy & McVay Rock a special site to view sea animals. Extremely windy.

Yet another great video. Thanks. I was born a bit south of this location in Coos Bay but have lived in the state just to the north most of my life. Agreed that Tillamook is the best store bought ice cream to be found. Should your travels bring you to Central Washington be sure to check out Winegars Ice Cream, the best on the planet 😊. Safe and plentiful travels.

Very familiar with the Oregon coast from Brookings to the Columbia River. It's my favorite camping trip, takes me a month. As an inlander (MT) I savor my time on the OR coast, there's nowhere else like it for me 🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊

There's another contender for the world's shortest river (or so it's claimed). It's 135 feet long and it flows out of Sorvagsvatn lake on Vagar island in the Faroe Islands. It leaves the lake, flows 135 feet, then plunges over a waterfall into the sea. It's a two-mile hike from the road to see it and I did it back in the 1980s when I was working on a project in the Faroe Islands. GPS 62* 01' 26.8" N 7* 14' 21.11" W

You should hike the trail around Mt Rainer in Washington. But it is a packing trip so your need a tent and supplies. The coastline of Oregon is beautiful.
