This is a Porsche 911 restoration that was abandoned in 1994 after being converted to a race car. My plan is a twin turbo Subaru EZ30 porsche engine swap with 400+ HP to the wheels. Stay tuned.

I'm so glad I found your channel. I found Henry at Costa Mesa Collision and Auto Painting just before this. You channel has confirmed that Henry is the right guy for my car. There are many paint shops around, but being new to this, this being my first complete repaint, I'm super nervous about finding a place that will "do it right", instead of "good enough". I have an 86- you nailed it. The Porsche tax takes a lot of the fun out of the car. I compare my buddies vw parts prices and you see how insane the mark ups are. The 3.2 is the most expensive 200hp in the free world. Not to mention that 17 German engineers were employed to design new places to leak oil. Thanks for a subie option!

It kinda makes sense for your R&D journey, a true engine swap kit install experience that your customers can reference. The Blasphemy build is awesome, but it’s so far removed from a normal 911 that the install wouldn’t be truly indicative of what your customers see. Onwards and upwards for Rennch ! 🙂

Wow thats is a change no one saw coming! Has anyone looked or thought about buying your kit for a 356 restomod. I am currently grafting a 1974 rear chassis of a 911 in my 356. End of tranny tunnel back will be all 911. I was thinking about an all new 2.2 ltr VW motor. A 911 motor was too heavy to put in, in most experts opionions, but maybe the suburu motor would be a good fit.

Idea to save your battery boxes: Install the radiators in the rear wheel wells instead. Some of the electric A/C guys have their condensers there. Downsides are that you're adding even MORE weight to an already rear-heavy vehicle, the oil tank would need to be removed (done!), and there's some potential for heat soak from the exhaust manifolds. But you'd get to keep your wiper fluid reservoir, oil cooler(s), etc. Your entire front end could stay as-is. Also, another shout-out to PelicanParts. Fantastic place to buy stuff, and I love their forum. (The LBDC thread's one of my favorites!)

Here’s a nice side bar to rile the haters; lay out the oil based liquid cooling hardware next to you water based cooling hardware. I reckon there won’t be much of a difference. If hashtags were still a thing I’d be adding something like #AirCooledMyths 😂

I’m feeling the Porsche tax in my budget build. At my age and income status I’ll never be able to afford a 911, not even a 996. I want that flat 6 orchestra so I snapped up a 2.2L from a 911T a friend sold me for cheap to do my 914 to 914-6 conversion. Unfortunately, part scarcity, cost, and ridiculous rent increases are sending me to the poor house and bankruptcy.

I would have cut the pressure plate bolts, washers in that type of use will expand and the bolt will become loose.

I would have cut them as well. If that washer was all that made the difference, then that was not enough. Bet there will be marks when that comes apart in the future. I mean the crank thrust bearings better be real close. Frankly, I know dick about Sube engines.

Cool to see you trying to move forward with the subaru motor integration. Hey, simple green works great as a degreaser and it's not to harsh on parts or the environment. Never use super clean on anything aluminum tho, as it's the part will forever be oxidizing.

May I suggest that you do all the test fitting of the engine, before you start cutting stuff out of the car? If it turns out to be a no go, you won’t have to weld stuff back in.
