ARMA 3 with sway-reduce mod (and preferably recoil-coef changer) mod has the best recoil \ gunplay in the genre. A3 has the most straightforward inventory, while providing a ton of options; It also has waaaaaaay better animations, less bugs & server issues, better editor, bigger content pool & so on - and that's the problem, most of what Reforger has to offer can be or has been done better in ARMA 3, usually in bigger scale & with more consistent results - take Karmakut 24/7 PvP War server for instance. Or just buy Squad if you're longing for PvP.

​ @otneyat That's not true. Options, uniqueness of potential, firefights & scale makes ARMA, well, ARMA. Not the floaty gunplay which can be fixed with just 1 mod. We tried Reforger in Coop, just yesterday. And it felt so half-assed and terrible we just uninstalled right after. You can't fix that with 1 mod, hell, not even with 20 I presume.

I've been playing this game since release and its really came a long way truly and the modding community is making large strides and doing a lot of great work making a nice modern combat experience, it can be very immersive and enjoyable I love this game and will continue to sink a few thousand more hours into it im sure its only going to get better. we should see even more attack helicopters coming soon as darkgru servers has 2 currently.

If Arma 4 can improve performance and launch with console support it will be their most successful title yet. Reforger in particular draws a fine line in-between remaining tactical and fun, yet not having someone scream in your ear to head east like you find all too common in games like Squad. Something about that game attracts garage generals with BBQ valor.

Arma reforger is my introduction to actually playing Arma rather than watching it since ive always been an xbox gamer. It is the most fun ive had in a very very long time. The emergent gameplay scenarios fueled by in game prox and radio chat made it worth it even on day 1 when you got disconnected every 3 seconds

That’s what happens when you give talented folks the freedom to create. BI are very progressive in supporting modding, etc. One of the great things about Reforger is the Enfusion Workbench that anyone can use. It’s the same system the devs use. It’s WAY easier than A3 modding. There is going to be an explosion of mods and interesting ideas coming out. Really exciting stuff!

I find it hard (new player of arma and arma reforger) to learn and pick servers to play. Servers I have joined have requirements and I can only use certain equipment since I just joined etc and that I have to have certain amount of play time 🤓.

Personally, the one I’ve had the most fun on is darkgru open conflict #4 realism eastern europe. I think the only things limited to higher ranks are armor and helis.

Keep in mind, you will have to deal with crashes, disconnects, bugs, and djank. But, if it’s the kind of gameplay you’re looking for, it’s a really fun experience. The game has came a long way, the problem on console as I'm sure pc has is having to find a server, aswell as re downloading ever single thing that server requires, between different servers may be 2 extra downloads or 20 different downloads. Playing mods ofcorse is the only way so. It can get frustrating tell you find a good server to stick with if it stays up, doesn't kick you, or crash. The game is super fun and very realistic, maybe clunky at first or times but it's not near as hard as real life 🤣

Well, Darkgru #5 is my favorite. It has team balancing which a lot of others don’t have. With it being full most the time and no queue system, it can be a hassle to get in. But if I watch it for a few minutes I can usually catch it at 127 and get in. I’m not promising the server is perfect. Far from it lol But good enough for me and it is my favorite.

Don't forget to tell people that this is a mod your playing. People might get confused that this is the base game. And on the Xbox series s the mods barley work. Lastime i checked I was getting like 25fps with some of these mods installed. Just a heads up for others.

Question, do you join random online servers or do you play on any one server, a specific community with Discord, etc.? I ask because in Arma 3 I tried to play on random servers but it worked poorly, it wasn't until I started playing in closed groups (on discord etc) that I felt what a decent game was :D Is it the same in Reforger? Or you can just join a server, like in Squad and have fun in some game mode?

I just joined random servers and so far I like darkgru #4 realism eastern europe for pvp. But yeah, performance can be poor. A lot of disconnects and crashes and lag. But I joined a pve server tonight and just joined my buddy’s milsim group. The pve server performed great. So, yeah. Same deal.

its a shame the way the player moder seems almost over animated, I'm sure it looks great while walking normally, but with way you were inching around with micro movements to peak (how players often play) the arm movements were distracting and ugly. a way they could improve this if for a delay on these animations, say, 3 steps in and it begins.

It should be as easy as installing the game, go to multiplayer, pick a server and it will download all the mods automatically and you should be good to go! The dcs aren’t even the worst of it. Last night I kept experiencing bad bugs that made me have to restart the game or respawn. Every time, it was right when some good action was about to start or in the middle of a firefight, I’d get a game breaking bug. And players were out of control because no admins were on. It was just so bad. But yeah, good game when it works lol

Love this game but my God the mods are stupid. Good dam luck with getting into any model game in under an hr 😂 maybe on PC with top notch internet you might have luck it seems. But for us concole guys we are f'd. It's bs! Every idiot puts over 30 mods in 1 server to make it near impossible to join. And they are shit mods too tbh

True. I’m only playing it now because of the mods. But, seeing as how, I think, it’s existence was just to test the enfusion engine and give us something to play around with until Arma 4 and the focus was always going to remain on the development of Arma 4, I’m not surprised the modders what’s mainly supporting the game. And the modders were able to get familiar with the engine. I do very much appreciate them.

Nah man, playing full vanilla game master servers can be super fun, even vanilla conflict is good most of the time; It’s even better since it runs smoother w/on mods (ofc)

Man I’m downloading this on XSX as soon as I get home. But I don’t PVP against PCs in any game let alone a mil sim!! Love you all and you’re all My Brothers but you is filthy with them cheaters and you is too good with them darned mousies and macros and what-not. If I ever want to play PVP against PCs I can just go slam my own head in a door for half an hour instead for same pain in half the time🫡😁🤓
