You might have snagged a claw on something enough to loosen it. You could smooth the prong down with the back of a spoon, gently so you don't mark the stone. I would love to make you a ring, rings are my favourite thing to make! I made 3 today and 3 yesterday, and I'm wearing 6 over 3 fingers 😂

It looks too opaque to be a sapphire. Sapphires look more like colored glass. To me it looks more like lapis lazuli.

MissLilyputt while you are right it definitely could be a piece of lapis lazuli. Because on re-examination of the video I don’t see any well defined rays. however star sapphires are opaque in color and generally have six rays forming an almost starlike pattern thus the name.

To extend the life of your ring, since the band is thinning, you might think about adding a wedding band and having your jeweler weld the two together. That would help prevent the band of your engagement ring from wearing through, and once your jeweler has repaired the prongs it should last a lifetime. Wouldn't it be nice if there was some invisible glue they could use on the stones as a safety backup???? I am just like you when it comes to my ring. I hope you get to get it repaired soon. The ring is lovely, my sister had one in the 70s that was similar but silver, a star sapphire... Thank God the stone didn't 'go AWOL' in the carpet or down the drain...! Maybe the jeweler could replace the band with a new one... I had to laugh when you said at the beginning,"I'm not flippin' everybody off, I have three fingers up here"...we all knew Jamie would know how to solve the malady until could be fixed! Memphis and Kira with their cat toys! Funny when Kira was thinking "hey guys, did you know there's a door here and it leads outside??"

Don’t worry Jess it can be fixed, just don’t try it one your own you could damaged the stone. Your jeweler just needs to pop it back into the setting and tighten the prongs. It happens all the time with that kind of setting. I’m just glad you found the stone.

Hey Jessica one of my best friends actually has a secondary ring size to her wedding ring finger for in case things like this happen. It will never take the place of the original of course but having at least having some kind of a back up ring just in case can help you feel calmer until your actual ring gets repaired or a replacement stone can be found. You may want to consider having a small bit of gold from your first ring put into the secondary ring. 💟💝💗💖💘🥰💍

Glad you found the stone! You need a six prong ring! I lost the diamond out of my engagement ring three times and was lucky enough to find it. Jeweler said it needed to be 6 prong instead of 4 prong. I have had no problems since!

The only place that that I can think of that might be able to fix your ring would be a Pawn store (I don't know if they do repairs or not, but it might be worth a try). Good Luck 37 degrees I'll take that over this heat we live in (I hate the heat) there talking triple digits this weekend 😒 Because it's so hot already I set a fan up for our dog on the floor, and she loves it (like Miss Oakley girl).

My mums ring also broke the stone fell out sometime at her parents house and she didn’t realise until like 4 days later. So she told her sister then after her sister was emptying the vacuum and noticed something shiny and it was my mum stone from the ring. This happened a while ago and she hasn’t got it fixed.

One of the prongs broke on my ring, Not enough for the stone to fall out, but enough that I don't want to wear and not hear the stone fall out. Jewelry stores are closed here too. So I have to want for it to be fixed also.i understand the strange feeling of not have a ring on. Kira and the blow dryer noise is funny. Maybe she stayed to make sure her toy was going to be okay.

What type of stone is that on your ring? I rarely wear my diamond except for special occasions. I don't want to scratch my patients with it and I don't want to loose the diamond, which is slightly loose in it's setting. Heart shapes are harder to stabilize I've been told.

Gold work hardens, so by "fixing" the prongs every year they likely made them brittle. That said, it's completely 100% fixable. A good jeweler can attach new prongs to the ring and it'll be as good as knew.
