Umm.. yeah. Sure. I’m way closer with my family than most ppl. But there’s a difference between spending time with them, while I’m conscious and it actually matters, and sleepin with them bc I have the mind and fears of a 4 yr old… very strange. Also, prolly not healthy, mentally speaking, to continue to b this frightened of basic things or rely on ur parents to this degree at this age bc, eventually, ur gonna hafta take care of urself. This just isn’t the type of thing u do to “spend time with ur parents.” Ur sleeping. So ur not really “spending time” with them anyway. It’s not really even the sleeping with her parents that I find so strange tbh. It’s the whole “I run to my parents room n the middle of the night bc there’s a monster under my bed,” type vibe that’s makin this odd.

@@HolyNamed There is a story behind this. See I grew up in a house where my entire family and I experienced some legitimate paranormal activity. When I was a little girl I’d sleep with my door wide open and would wake up in the middle of the night. There were times I woke up and felt like someone was standing over me watching me sleep, despite no one actually being there. I realize as an adult that even with my door closed, I’d still feel that way. However in those days I was convinced it was because I left the door open. So now I keep my door closed and locked at night. It may seem irrational, but I do sleep better at night as a result.

funny story on how I overcame my fear of needles. I was sick and back in that country you always get a needle shot right on the cheek when you are sick so having a cold was a huge nightmare for me. I remember a kid slightly younger than me was in first and she got was absolutely screaming bloody murder and then it was my turn, laying on my belly with one of my cheeks exposed ready to get the same treatment then I over heard the nurse explaining to the parents that when you are scared you get tense and clench your muscles which makes it harder for the needle to pierce through so I decided to be calm and relaxed and i didn't feel a thing just a bit of a sting. from then on my fear of needles poof vanished.

Exposure therapy is pretty helpful for the needles one. When I was like 0-10 I FREAKED out anytime someone stuck a hollow metal tube in my skin (when I phrase it that way it makes you a bit more empathetic, yea?) but when I was 10 I started lithium for the bipolar and I had to get blood tests every 2 weeks (because lithium isn’t really good for the kidneys). That got me over the needles fear eventually. I still like it when the doctor has that pokey-plastic thing that overloads the local nerve endings so you don’t really notice the needle the same way tho

Fear of the dark isn't possible, It's the fear of the thought of something in the dark that's the fear, but that's not fear of the dark because you fear what can be in the dark, not darkness it's self. Scared of needles is normal, if your a kid once you become an adult you should be mature enough to handle a shot normally, unless you have a ptsd moment with needles that's different. And fear of flying is wild since it's one of the safest ways of travel, safer than car. Fear of heights is normal tho because it's a survival instinct so you don't kill yourself, But everything else is pretty easy to solve.

Listening to this from a Gen-X perspective is crazy. We almost died at least 3 times a day. Our parents kicked us out of the house first thing in the morning and didn't want to see us until the streetlights came on. I bring this up because this video reminded me of something that happened to me as a kid. I was in 5th grade, I saw a shadow of a person outside of my bedroom window in the middle of the night from the streetlight across the street. I peeked at the corner and saw a huge guy standing in out flowerbed. I ran and woke up my parents (who were BOTH police officers), they told me to go back to bed. The next morning I was telling them about it, and my parents and I went to the flowerbed to look at the footprints. So I put my Rambo knife beside my bed and I showed my little brother. I told him what happened to me and told him that if anything happens to me, he needs to get my knife and protect himself. A week later some girls came to my window and startled me. They wanted me to sneak out, I didn't want to. An hour later more girls came to my window and tried to get me to sneak out. My parents would freak out so my fear of them made me stay in. An hour later there were over 10 girls who tapped on my window, when I opened the curtains, they all flashed me. So I got dressed and snuck out. My window has a loud spring that shoots up and makes noise. So I opened it very very slowly and it still made noise. So when I got out my window, I left it cracked to just before the spring so that I could open it with no noise. A few hours later I opened my window back up and went inside, I got undressed and laid down. I felt for my knife and it was gone. My heart began to race as I realized I left my window open and I saw a stranger in out flowerbed. Suddenly, I heard my closet door slowly open. I pretended to adjust myself in a normal way someone sleeping would move. My eyes were cocked sideways to see if I could see anything and I saw my knife point end coming towards me. I thought that this was going to be my last stand, I need to be as loud as possible to get my parents to come in and stop myself from being killed. Apparently the girls coming to my window woke my little brother up, he was scared and came into my bedroom and saw the open window and I was missing. He grabbed my knife and hid in the closet. So when I got home he held the knife in front of him and was checking the person in the bed. Anyway, I didn't know that at this time. I quickly turned and grabbed the hands hold the knife and yelled ,"HELP! MOM! DAD!!" As I rolled my brother over the corner of the bed. He screamed in terror, I screamed in fear. Then I realized it was my brother and in a brief pause my brother and I hear my dad yell, "Shut up and go to bed!" Followed by our mother yelling, "GO TO BED!" I could have been murdered and my parents yelled at us. This sounds bad, but they were good parents. But typical Gen-X parents. So hearing how afraid she is and all of the litany of fears is so foreign to me.

She is honest at least. Needing a light on while sleeping and a closed door may or may not be an indicator of trauma. Marines in WWII figured out they could actually sleep in their fox holes with a trained Doberman by their side because they would warn them of the approaching siIent enemy in the night. I have the Doberman in my profile pic sleep in the room with me. I sleep very well all night long. He is a giant baby at 115 lbs but instantly jumps to alert at any suspicious sound. Dobermans are highly recommended and better than sleeping pills.

I’m the same with needles. Had to get a root canal and the worst part was the shots for me. I literally convinced them to give me a sedative (they normally don’t apparently) so that I’d be less aware when they gave me the shots. Though, dental numbing shots are definitely worse than regular shots

@@HolyNamed She is worthy of admiration. How often have you seen her face in other people? In other words, do you know a lot of women that look like her? Anyway... I was done "glazing". So I had "chilled" before you suggested some "chilling" 😁. Tell me, was your channel meant to be about Jesus but it became about Minecraft?

I relate to the open doors one. It's just this unsettling feeling that someone has access to watch you when you're asleep or that they could even touch you inappropriately. It's not an irrational fear tbh.

What? That's way out of pocket to just having a fear of the dark. You need to get that checked out if you think someone going to touch you at night that's really unsettling

Finally someone who I can relate to. I thought I was the only one who is scared of open doors 😭 My anxiety would literally shoot up when I see open doors, even when itself just a crack. It’s real even if other people think it’s crazy.
