One time at the dentist, I wore all black, including nail polish, and joked with my dentist about the outfit. LOL...Still, I would have nabbed that statue! I am attracted to statues, and busts. I have a bust of David in my living room, and another bust of a grecian woman on a table. And I have several smaller figures, and framed pieces of art depicting someone reading, as I adore books. I get so much joy in these pieces. I wish our Goodwill was as classy as yours, but...I must find one that is!

Actually, if you use a butter knife, you can slip the tip of the knife into the bank, balance some coins on the blade and the coins slide right out. I was a resourceful child, haha!

When my husband and I bought our first house, he made me a metal bank. The guys at the place he worked as an electrician welded it for him. We put quarters in it, and I created the butterknife theif!! LOL I got a butter knife, or table knife as it is also named, and I tried to nab a quarter. You have to use your brain, hand and tongue curl, to manage to get the quarter on the knife blade without letting it slip off. LOL Such fun, and I LOVE a challenge. We hit that bank many times, and now I don't remember what happened to it, and if we gave it to our frugal daughter, or our son, who, at ten years old, had his newspaper delivery money spent before he got paid. Such wonderful memories.

I wonder if the fish is a decoy used by ice fisher people? When you said it had a hole in top fin I wonder if it is weighted so it will go down in water some? I believe the decoys are used to bring real fish in to see if there is bait fish or algae that carp eat.

Just FYI - Your cool fish is actually a Koi. They have one barbel on each side of their mouth. Catfish have several long whiskers and their body shape is different.

I've never seen that blue in old carnival glass the very old Imperial glass is normally darker. My grandfather and brothers used to take carnival rides to set up at carnivals. Unfortunately Lightning struck the warehouse in early 1930s and destroyed all the equipment and they had no insurance. My mom and her sisters always got free rides when it was running. So sad, right during the Depression. The continued to sell novelties at the carnivals.

Your fish is actually a decoy used for ice fishing and is probably very vintage or primitive antique worth quite a bit of money. Look up fish decoys. The metal fins, the hole in the fin all points to old decoy. Almost considered buying it
